Shanghai Shixi High School

Shanghai Wheelock Square is a skyscraper located in Puxi, Shanghai, China. It is the 286th tallest building in the world.The Wheelock Square building has 58 floors, and just over 100,000 m2 (1,100,000 sq ft) of prime office space. It is located across the street from the Jing'an Temple Station on Shanghai Metro Lines 2 and 7.

Yuanming Jiangtang (simplified Chinese: 圆明讲堂; traditional Chinese: 圓明講堂; pinyin: Yuánmíng Jiǎngtáng; lit. 'Yuanming Lecture Room') is a Buddhist temple located in the Jing'an District of Shanghai.

Ash Civilian Assembly Center or Ash Camp, was a Japanese internment camp for civilian detainees in Shanghai, China during World War II. Created from a former British Army barracks, it was located at 65 Great Western Road (now Yan'an Xi Lu). The Camp was named for the large amount of ash used to back fill the low-lying areas and prevent flooding. Jing'an Temple (simplified Chinese: 静安寺; traditional Chinese: 靜安寺; pinyin: Jìng'ān Sì; Shanghainese: Zin'oe Zy; lit. 'Temple of Peace and Tranquility') is an esoteric Tangmi Buddhist temple on the West Nanjing Road in Shanghai. Jing'an District, where it is located, is named after the temple.

Jing'an Temple (simplified Chinese: 静安寺; traditional Chinese: 靜安寺; pinyin: Jìng'ān Sì) is the name of an interchange station between Lines 2, 7 and 14 of the Shanghai Metro. This station is located in Jing'an District, below the historic Jing'an Temple and the Jiu Guang shopping mall. It is part of the initial section of Line 2 that opened from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road that opened on 20 September 1999; the interchange with line 7 opened on 5 December 2009 as part of that line's initial section between Shanghai University and Huamu Road.There are shuttle buses between Jing'an Temple and Hongqiao or Pudong airports. The shuttle bus from Pudong leaves the airport as 'Airport Bus Line 2' towards the 'Airport City Terminal' which is the official name of the Jingan Temple shuttle bus station and costs 22 ¥ as of January 2015. The ride takes about half an hour from Hongqiao Airport and 45–60 minutes depending on traffic from Pudong Airport. From Pudong the bus is usually faster and more convenient than the subway connection.

Shanghai Dong Hai Plaza (Chinese: 东海广场) is a skyscraper in Shanghai, China. It is 217 metres (712 ft) tall and has 52 floors. The tower was completed in 2004 after a long period on hold, construction having started in 1994.

The Shanghai Exhibition Centre (Chinese: 上海展览中心; pinyin: Shànghǎi Zhǎnlǎn Zhōngxīn) or the Shanghai Exhibition Hall (Chinese: 上海展览馆; pinyin: Shànghǎi Zhǎnlǎn Guǎn; Shanghainese: Zånhae Zuelae Gue) is an exhibition and convention centre in central Shanghai. The building was built in 1955 as the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building (Chinese: 中苏友好大厦) to commemorate the alliance between China and the Soviet Union, a name by which many locals still refer to the building. Reflecting its original name, the design draws heavily on Russian and Empire style neoclassical architecture with Stalinist neoclassical innovations. The building is a major landmark in Shanghai. At 93,000 square metres, it is one of the largest integrated building complexes in central Shanghai by footprint. At 110.4 metres (to the top of spire), it was for decades (1955–1988) the tallest building in Shanghai. Its main frontage, an open quadrangle with an elaborate central tower, faces Yan'an Road, today the main east-west artery across central Shanghai, while its secondary façade, a colonnade, faces West Nanjing Road, one of the premier retail and commercial streets of Shanghai.

Shanghai Centre (Chinese: 上海商城; pinyin: Shànghǎi Shāngchéng) is located on West Nanjing Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai. It is a comprehensive building complex consisting of three towers rising from an eight-storey base. Designed by John C. Portman, Jr., the Shanghai Centre was one of the first contemporary skyscrapers to be built in Shanghai. It occupies a prestige location, across West Nanjing Road from the Russian neo-classical style Shanghai Exhibition Centre complex, with whose central axis the Shanghai Centre's central axis is aligned. The whole complex hosts 472 apartment units, 30,000 sq. meters of high-end office area, a supermarket, three stories of luxury department stores, the Shanghai Centre Theatre, a Trading Exhibition Centre, and a 5-star hotel (The Portman Ritz Carlton Shanghai, named after the architect). The complex opened in April, 1990, and it consists of three towers and several accessory buildings. The eight-storey pedestal building fronts onto West Nanjing Road. The building's frontage is not aligned with the street: in order to align the central axis with that of the Shanghai Exhibition Centre on the other side of West Nanjing Road (the main frontage of which in turn faces, and therefore is aligned with, Yan'an Road), the Shanghai Centre was built at an angle to West Nanjing Road. The three towers are arranged symmetrically "rising" out of the pedestal: one at the centre and towards the back, and two symmetrically to the left and right, further to the front. The three towers have similar profiles, with a memorable feature being a slight widening of the long side of each tower towards the top, giving each tower a profile reminiscent of traditional Chinese monumental stelae or towers.

The Propaganda Poster Art Centre (Chinese: 上海宣传画艺术中心; pinyin: Shànghǎi Xuānchuánhuà Yìshù Zhōngxīn or simplified Chinese: 上海杨培明宣传画收藏艺术馆; traditional Chinese: 上海楊培明宣傳畫收藏藝術舘; pinyin: Shànghǎi Yáng Péi Míng Xuānchuánhuà Shōucáng Yìshù Guǎn) is a museum located in Shanghai which exhibits posters from the Maoist period of communist China, especially from the Cultural Revolution period. The museum was located in the basement of an apartment building in Huashan Road facing Wukang Road, in the former French Concession area until 2019 when it relocated to an office building on Yan'an West Road. It has a rich collection of rare last-piece posters. The owner of the museum, Mr. Yang Pei Ming, is keeping the posters as they are to be seen as an art form. He started collecting the posters as a hobby in 1995, and he wants to preserve the posters for the future. The museum is visited mainly by tourists, as it is listed in guides such as Lonely Planet and Frommers.

Shanghai No. 3 Girls' High School (Chinese: 上海市第三女子中学) is a key public all-female high school in Shanghai, China. The predecessors of the school were St. Mary's Hall, established in 1881, and McTyeire School, established in 1892. In 1952, these two schools were taken over by the People's Government of Shanghai and merged into "Shanghai No. 3 Girls' High School". Heidi Ross, author of "Historical Memory, Community Service, Hope: Reclaiming the Social Purposes of Education for the Shanghai McTyeire Schools for Girls," noted that McTyeire had a reputation for being elitist and privileged. She added that the school provided a sense of stability and isolation from problems during World War II.

Jiangsu Road (simplified Chinese: 江苏路; traditional Chinese: 江蘇路; pinyin: Jiāngsū Lù) is the name of a station on lines 2 and 11 of the Shanghai Metro. This is one of the stations that can refund the 20RMB deposit for the Shanghai Public Transportation Card.This station is part of the initial section of Line 2 that opened from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road that opened on 20 September 1999, and also served as the southeast terminus of Line 11 from the line's opening on the last day of 2009 until 31 August 2013, when the second phase to Luoshan Road opened.
