Fisk Lake

Coldbrook Creek is an urban stream in Grand Rapids in Kent County, Michigan. Its origin is the outflow of Fisk Lake on the John W. Blodgett Estate, and the stream eventually drains to the Grand River. Although parts of the stream are now in underground culverts, there are significant possibilities for daylighting, and open streambeds appear in areas on the campus of Aquinas College as well as within Highland Park. Part of its course through Grand Rapids is parallel to the Grand Rapids Eastern Railroad.

The John W. Blodgett Estate, also known as Brookby, is an historic landmark at 250 Plymouth Rd, SE, East Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1977. The property is owned by Aquinas College.

Minnie Cumnock Blodgett (1862–1931) graduated from Vassar College in 1884, later becoming a trustee (1917–1931). She is the mother of Katharine Blodgett Hadley (VC '20), who was also a Vassar trustee (1942–1954), and was chairman of the Board (1945–1952).Her husband, John W. Blodgett, built their estate, which they named Brookby, where they made their Grand Rapids home.

East Grand Rapids is a city in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 10,694.The city is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is surrounded by Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Township, but the city is administered autonomously.

Marywood Academy, also known as the Sisters of the Order of Saint Dominic Motherhouse Complex, is a complex of religious and educational buildings located at 2025 Fulton Street East in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

East Grand Rapids High School is a public secondary school located in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. It serves grades 9–12 for the East Grand Rapids Public Schools.

Temple Emanuel is a Reform synagogue in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The congregation was founded in 1857 and describes itself as the fifth oldest Reform congregation in the United States. The congregation erected its first building in 1882 at the corner of Fountain and Ransom Streets. The architect was D.S. Hopkins. In 1996 it was in use as an office building and was the oldest synagogue building still standing in Michigan. The Temple has a notable 1926 Tiffany glass window depicting the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz. The window was moved from the 1882 building when the congregation erected a new building in 1952. The 1952 building is by Erich Mendelsohn (1887–1953).

The Grand Rapids Yacht Club is a yacht club located on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was established in 1931 by R. Wallace Hook on his lakeshore property on the south shore of the lake.

Eastown is a 70 square block district that is a part of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has been described by some as the Greenwich Village of Grand Rapids. It is considered by many in the Grand Rapids area as somewhat of a liberal oasis in a rather conservative area.Today a walkable mixed-use neighborhood, Eastown began as a streetcar commuter suburb of downtown Grand Rapids. Eastown has an active community association, business association and neighborhood newsletter called the Access. Eastown is primarily white, but also has a large and tight-knit African-American population.

The Mathias J. Alten House and Studio is a single-family home located at 1593 East Fulton Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was owned and lived in by Mathias Alten, a German-American impressionist painter, from 1914 until his death in 1938. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
