Villaggio Mall

The 2012 Villaggio Mall fire occurred at 11:30 on May 28, 2012 in Villaggio Mall, Doha, Qatar. The fire left at least 19 people dead and another 17 were injured. The fire is reported as having started in the facility's nursery, and 13 of the victims were children. Five people were later found guilty of death by negligence after the blaze. Sheikh Ali Bin Jasim Bin Al Thani, and his wife giving 6 years in jail and they ordered to pay victims' families blood money. The Villaggio Mall was set to be reopened in 20 September, 2012.

Aspire Tower, also known as The Torch Doha, is a 300-metre-tall (980 ft) skyscraper hotel located in the Aspire Zone complex in Doha, Qatar. Designed by architect Hadi Simaan and AREP and engineer Ove Arup and Partners, the tower served as the focal point for the 15th Asian Games hosted by Qatar in December 2006. The tower is currently the tallest structure and building in Doha and Qatar, but it will be surpassed by the Dubai Towers Doha and the Barwa Tower, when either project is completed. The tower has also been known as Khalifa Sports Tower or Doha Olympic Tower.

The 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) were held in Doha, Qatar on 3–7 December 2014. The Hamad Aquatic Centre in the Aspire Zone hosted the event.

Hamad Aquatic Centre is a large swimming pool complex in Doha, Qatar. The centre is housed in the Doha Sports City complex along with other buildings dedicated to sports in Qatar including the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Aspire Tower, Khalifa International Stadium, and a training school called Aspire Academy. It is three stories tall and is equipped to host events in swimming, synchronized swimming, and diving.

Khalifa International Stadium (, Arabic: استاد خليفة الدولي, ALA-LC: Istād Khalīfah al-Duwalī) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Al Rayyan, Qatar, around 9 kilometres (6 miles) west from the centre of Doha. Its ground comprises a running track and a grass pitch. Opened in 1976, the stadium was named after then-Emir of Qatar Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, and under the ownership of the Qatar Football Association, it serves as the primary home ground of the Qatar men's national football team. Its current fully-roofed, 45,857-seat configuration was opened in 2017, following a previous reconfiguration in 2005 that incorporated the stadium into the Aspire Zone complex and added a roofed grandstand; boosting its capacity from 20,000 to 40,000. Khalifa has hosted numerous international association football and athletics events throughout its history. Track and field events at the 2006 Asian Games, 2011 Pan Arab Games, and 2019 World Athletics Championships were held at the stadium, and World Athletics has since organised the annual Doha Diamond League event there as part of its Diamond League series. In the future, Khalifa is planned to host track and field events at the 2030 Asian Games. In association football, the stadium hosted matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship, the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, and three editions of the Arabian Gulf Cup. The final of the Emir of Qatar Cup is also occasionally played at the stadium.

Aspire Zone, also known as Doha Sports City, is a 250-hectare (2.5 km2) sporting complex located in the Baaya district of Al Rayyan, a suburb of Doha, Qatar. Owned by the Aspire Zone Foundation, it was established as an international sports destination in 2003 and in the following year an educational centre for the development of sporting champions (Aspire Academy) was opened. The complex contains several sporting venues, mostly constructed in preparation for the 2006 Asian Games.Aspire Zone is also home to Doha's tallest structure, the Aspire Tower, and is adjacent to Villaggio Mall, the most popular mall in Qatar. The complex is an important feature in the 2022 FIFA World Cup bid submitted by the Qatar Football Association, and was central to the Doha bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics put forward by the Qatar Olympic Committee.

The Aspire Dome is an indoor multi-purpose arena based in Qatar. It is located in the Aspire Academy in Doha and has the capacity to host 13 different sporting events simultaneously in a climate controlled arena, in addition to a full-sized indoor football pitch.

Perceval is a public sculpture by British artist Sarah Lucas, a member of the Young British Artists movement. It is located in Aspire Park, Doha, Qatar. Perceval is the only piece of public art made by Sarah Lucas.

Baaya (Arabic: بعيا; also spelled as Baaja) is a district in the municipality of Al Rayyan in Qatar. It is one of the more developed districts in Al Rayyan, hosting Villaggio Mall, Aspire Park, and the Aspire Zone, all of which run along Al Waab Street.

Aspire Park is located in Aspire Zone, in the southern district of Baaya in Doha, Qatar. It covers an area of 88 hectares and it is Doha's biggest park. It is a great place to have picnics and family outdoors while overlooking the Aspire Tower, especially at night. The park has different features such as beautiful fountains, playgrounds for children, and other fun features. It has the only lake in Qatar, a small hill, a coffee shop where different kinds of beverages can be bought, and various kinds of trees, both rare and common. Located close by is the Aspire Tower, a 300-meter modern hotel, which served as a giant torch for the 15th Asian Games. On March 23, 2020, The ministry of Commerce and Industry has closed the Aspire Park, along other parks, due to the COVID-19 outbreak until further notice. It has been since reopened.

Aspire Academy (Arabic: أكاديمية أسباير, romanized: Akādīmiyat 'Asbāyr) is a sports academy based in the Aspire Zone in Qatar, founded in 2004 with the goal to scout and help develop Qatari athletes, whilst also providing them with secondary school education.

The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is the first sports related museum in the Middle East. It focuses on the history of both domestic and international sports and officially opened to the public on 30 March 2022 through an inauguration ceremony held by Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The museum was designed by Spanish Architect Joan Sibina, measures 19,000 square meters and is connected to the Khalifa International Stadium. The museum is partners with the International Physical Literacy Association and Accessible Qatar. It received over 100,000 visitors in its first 8 months after opening.
