KFSD (1450 AM) is a radio station based in North County, San Diego, California. It is owned by Raul Caro and Stephen Beuerle, through licensee IHS Media, and is currently off the air. The station's studios are located in Carlsbad, while the transmitter is located in an industrial park in Escondido.From 2004 until February 1, 2007, KFSD was a classical music radio station. KFSD stands for "First in San Diego," dating back to the first commercial broadcast license in San Diego. The KFSD call letters were originally assigned in 1926 to AM 620 (later 600). The KFSD call sign was on 600 from 1926–1963. KFSD was also on FM 94.1 from 1948 to 1963, then re-appeared on 94.1 in 1973 until 1997. The KFSD-TV call sign was on Channel 10 from 1953–1963. The three KFSD stations switched to the KOGO call sign in 1963, as information about San Diego and its people were fed into a new IBM computer and asked for the perfect call letters for these stations, and it chose KOGO. The last iteration of KFSD-FM 94.1 was as a classical station. KFSD had a good solid audience, but the station was bought by Nationwide Communications (division of Nationwide Insurance). Nationwide felt a change to more aggressive music was a better choice for the only 100 kW station in San Diego. KFSD was changed to KXGL, and became the Eagle 94.1. The Eagle's format proved to be a failure, and in 1998 became KJQY/KJOY 94.1.

Based on 2020 sales volume it is the ninth largest craft brewery in the United States.The brewery's first beer was Stone Pale Ale, which was considered to be its flagship ale until it was retired in 2015. The company's best known brand is Arrogant Bastard Ale, which has been described as a "watershed beer" that "put San Diego on the craft brew map." Most of Stone's beers are characteristic of west-coast craft brews, meaning that they have a high hop content. Compared to the macro-produced lagers, many Stone brews feature alcohol percentages that are well above average, ranging from 4.8% to 13%.Stone Brewing is rated as a "world class brewery" by the two largest beer enthusiast websites, RateBeer and BeerAdvocate. Stone Brewing has been voted by the readers of Beer Advocate as the #1 "All Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth."In June 2022, Stone and Sapporo Breweries announced that they had reached an agreement for Sapporo to purchase Stone Brewing, with the purchase expected to close in August 2022.

It straddles the city limits of San Marcos and Escondido, California, with its mailing address in Escondido. The station is located between Barham Drive and Auto Park Way/Nordahl Road, both of which intersect East Mission Road. It consists of a single platform and track.

Rancho Vallecitos de San Marcos was a 8,975-acre (36.32 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day northern San Diego County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Jose María Alvarado. The name means little valleys of St. Mark. The grant was located between Rancho Rincon del Diablo of Alvardo's father, Juan Bautista Alvarado on the east and Rancho Buena Vista on the west, and encompassed present day San Marcos.

Vintage Cellars, which is located in San Marcos, California, is also a retailer of wine storage cabinets, wine racks, and wine cooling systems. The company has designed and constructed wine cellars throughout the nation and is one of the longest-standing wine storage specialty businesses in the country. Though it began as a traditional brick and mortar business, the company now also does much of its business through its website.

Escondido Adventist Academy (EAA) is a private, Seventh-day Adventist-governed Christian school in Escondido, California, serving students in grades K-12. It is operated by a school board which represents the 14 Seventh-day Adventist churches in San Diego North County. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. Escondido Adventist Academy is a part of the Southeastern California Conference of the SDA School System. The school began under the name "Escondido Junior Academy". It moved to West 9th Avenue in Escondido in September of 1956, where it operated grades 1–8. Grade 9 was added in 1957 and grade 10 in 1958. Two new classrooms, a workshop and recreation area were added in 1959 (Times Advocate article, July 6, 1959). Then in 1982, it added Kindergarten and grades 11 and 12, a gymnasium and a two-story classroom building. It also changed its name to "Escondido Adventist Academy" to reflect its new senior academy status. In 2008, the school sold its 9th Avenue campus to a Mercedes Benz dealership and moved to a new facility on Deodar Road, as part of a joint campus with the Escondido Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is accredited by the Board of Regents of the General Conference of SDAs and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Escondido Transit Center is a bus and train station located in Downtown Escondido, California. It serves as the current eastern terminus of the North County Transit District's SPRINTER hybrid rail line and the northern terminus of the BREEZE Rapid bus rapid transit line. There are plans to extend the SPRINTER service to the Westfield North County mall in southern Escondido, north of Lake Hodges. The station is located just east of Interstate 15 (accessible from Valley Parkway exit) and south of State Route 78. Parking is available. Express bus service to Downtown San Diego is available at the Escondido Transit Center, as well as local bus service to inland North County San Diego. FlixBus buses between San Diego and Las Vegas stop at the center. Greyhound bus lines running between San Diego and San Bernardino stop next to the facility at 700 West Valley Parkway.

Eldorado College was a school founded in Escondido, California, United States It later opened additional campuses in Oceanside, West Covina and San Diego, California. The fourth, known as Orange County Business College, was established in Anaheim, California. Eldorado College was privately operated from 1961 to 1997. Eldorado College and Orange County Business College offered nine two-year programs, a number of four-year degree programs and later master's degree programs, as well as various certificate programs. There were well over 10,000 graduates from the colleges. According to the BPPVE database, Orange County Business College, located at 2035 East Ball Road, Anaheim, California, closed on November 24, 1997. There is no custodian of records or contact information listed on the BPPVE database for Orange County Business College or Eldorado College. Both Eldorado College and Orange County Business College were accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges from 1979-1988 and Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools through 1997. Eldorado College in Oceanside had been accredited since 1970 and its campus in West Covina had been accredited since 1985. Orange County Business College in Anaheim had been accredited since 1973.

KARJ (92.1 MHz) is an FM radio station serving the North County of San Diego County, California, United States, airing a Worship music format from the Air1 network, and is owned by the Educational Media Foundation. KARJ's transmitter and antenna are located at 33°6′39″N 117°9′13″W in Escondido, California near Frank's Peak on Mount Whitney. The station broadcasts with 580 watts of effective radiated power (ERP).

Mission Hills High School is a high school located in San Marcos, California. It first opened in August 2004 on 40 acres (160,000 m2) of land that was previously part of the local Hollandia dairy. It has many career-oriented programs, such as the Academies of Business, Law Enforcement, Health Essentials, Fire Technology, and Culinary Arts.

Classical Academy High School (CAHS) is a public charter school located in Escondido, California. First enrollment began in 2006, offering grades 9 and 10. In 2007, 11th grades positions were open. Beginning in the 2008-2009 school year, CAHS offered grades 9-12. The Principal for CAHS is Dana Moen. CAHS is part of a group of four charter schools; other are Coastal Academy, Classical Academy Vista, and Classical Academy Online.
