Holtsville was a station stop on the Greenport Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located off the southeast corner of the Waverly Avenue grade crossing on the south side of the tracks between Long Island Avenue and Furrows Road in Holtsville, New York.

The population was 19,714 at the 2010 census.The hamlet is mainly in the Town of Brookhaven, while the southwestern portion is in the Town of Islip. An IRS Processing Center is located in Holtsville, along with NYPA's Richard M. Flynn Power Plant.

North Patchogue is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located within the Town of Brookhaven, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The CDP population was 7,246 at the 2010 census.

Seton Hall High School was located on 155 West Roe Boulevard in Patchogue, New York. Prior to 1952, the school was situated in bungalows on South Ocean Avenue. It opened in September 1937 and was closed in June 1974. Seton Hall was one of very few co-educational Catholic High Schools on Long Island, New York. The team mascot was the Eagle. The school motto was "Esse quam videri" meaning "To be, rather than to seem (to be)" and it appeared on the class rings of the school. The former campus is now home to St. Joseph's College.

On June 19, 2011, four people were killed at Haven Drugs, a pharmacy in Medford, New York, during a robbery. The perpetrator, David Laffer, committed the shooting after he had lost his job, and was, with his wife, addicted to opioids. Laffer was sentenced to life without parole, and his wife was sentenced to 25 years in prison. A doctor who had previously sold Laffer drugs, and was discovered in the aftermath to have been running a pill mill that lead to the overdose deaths of several people, was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

Patchogue High School is a public high school in East Patchogue, New York. It changed in 1972 when the Patchogue-Medford School District re-organized grade levels.

The Richard M. Flynn Power Plant is a power plant in Holtsville, in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It is operated by the New York Power Authority (NYPA).

Briarcliffe College - Patchogue was a campus of Briarcliffe College located in Patchogue, New York, on the south shore of Long Island in Suffolk County. It offered associate and bachelor degree coursework, covering areas including accounting, business administration, criminal justice, computer programming, graphic design, word processing and office technologies. The campus permanently closed in 2018.

Bald Hill Schoolhouse is a historic one-room school building located at Farmingville in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1850 and is a small, one story, vernacular rural schoolhouse with Greek Revival style detailing. It measures approximately 18 feet by 28 feet. It closed for classroom instruction in 1929. Also on the property are boy's and girl's privies, a small woodshed, and a house formerly owned by a member of the Terry family.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.The school is located in Farmingville Hills Park and is owned by the Farmingville Hills Historical Society, which plans to operate the schoolhouse as a museum.

Patchogue (, PATCH-awg) is a village in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 11,798 at the time of the 2010 census. Patchogue is part of the town of Brookhaven, on the south shore of Long Island, adjoining Great South Bay. It is officially known as the Incorporated Village of Patchogue.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is Located at 71 East Main Street in Patchogue Village, Suffolk County, New York (nearest cross street, North Ocean Avenue). The Patchogue Village Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., organized under a Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York. This helps to manage The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in the public interest. The Center's mission is to have The Patchogue Theatre serve as a cultural center for Long Island. The Center showcases a broad spectrum of performing arts for the benefit of a wide-ranging audience at affordable prices. The Patchogue Theatre as a full-time mixed-use venue, offering a variety of events including live performances, films, educational presentations, commercial productions, community forums, and other appropriate events.

Medford is a station in the hamlet of Medford, New York on the Main Line (Greenport Branch) of the Long Island Rail Road. Medford is located on New York State Route 112 between Peconic Avenue and Long Island Avenue. Access to the station is available from a narrow curving roadway leading off Route 112. This roadway used to connect with the Ohio Avenue intersection until Ohio Avenue was closed north of Peconic Avenue in 2007. It is also accessible from the north end of Oregon Avenue, although the Medford Fire Department periodically closes the Oregon Avenue access road for drills or other exercises.
