Kilyos

Uskumruköy (literally mackerel village) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 9,864 (2022). It is situated to the north of Belgrad Forest which is one of the most popular excursion areas of Istanbul citizens. It is 8 km (5 mi) west of Sarıyer centre and a suburb of Greater Istanbul. Uskumruköy is an old village and the ruins of an observation tower around the village was probably built by Republic of Genoa in the Middle Ages. During Ottoman Empire era the village was a gathering place of the army prior to campaigns to west. The economy of the village used to depend on cattle breeding and woodchopping. But at the present, most of the village area was bought by the construction companies and modern houses for Istanbul residents are being built. According to muhtar there are about 2500 villas in the village area. On the other hand, new European quarters of Istanbul are planned to be built in a vast area which covers Uskumruköy.

Zekeriyaköy is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 22,558 (2022).It is known for its quiet village life and upper middle class population. It became a rising entity in the real estate market after the construction of the modern villas next to the old village, where natives still live. The high end residential developments have turned this small village into one of the wealthiest districts of Istanbul. Due to its close location to the city's main financial centers such as Maslak and Levent, it has also become a prime location for the Istanbul business elite in recent years. Zekeriyaköy is neighbor to Maden, Bahçeköy, Uskumruköy, Demirciköy, and Rumelifeneri and 4.5 km away from Kilyos.

Koç University (Turkish: Koç Üniversitesi) is a non-profit private university in Istanbul, Turkey. It started education in temporary buildings in İstinye in 1993, and moved to its current Rumelifeneri campus near Sarıyer in 2000. Koç University is ranked highest in Turkey according to the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 2022 QS World University Rankings. Koç University currently consists of Colleges of Social Sciences and Humanities, Administrative Sciences and Economics, Science, Engineering, Law, Nursing and Medicine. Koç University offers 22 undergraduate, 29 graduate and 30 PhD programs. The university is home to around 7,000 students. The university accepts international students from various countries and has an extensive network of over 250 partner-universities including University of California and other universities such as Northwestern University, Cornell University and Georgetown University.Founded in 1993, Koç University has become one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey. The university attracts many of the highest-scoring students from Turkey's top high schools such as Koç School, Robert College, Uskudar American Academy and Istanbul High School. The majority of classes (over 95%) at Koç University are taught in English (a few exceptions are found only in the School of Law and School of Nursing).

Maslak Pavilion (Turkish: Maslak Kasrı) is a former imperial Ottoman pavilion located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was constructed during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz (1861-1876). It is under the administration of the Turkish Directorate of National Palaces.

Valide Dam (Turkish: Valide Bendi) is a historic dam located in Sarıyer district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Valide Dam was built in 1796 by Ottoman Sultan Selim III (reigned 1789–1807) to provide water for the donations in Eyüp of his mother Mihrişah Sultan (c. 1745–1805), who was titled Valide sultan during his reign.The dam is situated north of Bahçeköy, Sarıyer inside the Bentler Nature Park, which is part of the Belgrad Forest.Valide Dam impounds Ayazağa Creek, a tributary of Acıelma Creek, and has a catchment area of 1.825 km2 (0.705 sq mi). It is a solid gravity dam constructed in masonry with its crest and the waterside wall covered by marble. Two buttresses in 6.30 m (20.7 ft) distance at toe are attached to the downstream wall to reinforce the structure. The dam is 11.25 m (36.9 ft) high from the thalweg and 103.90 m (340.9 ft) long at crest. The crest is 4.72 m (15.5 ft) and the base is 6.30 m (20.7 ft) wide. The dam has a reservoir capacity of 255,000 m3 (9,000,000 cu ft).

Rumelikavağı, also known as Rumeli Kavağı, is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Sarıyer, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 3,657 (2022). "Rumeli" is the Turkish name for Thrace, and "Kavak" means "control post" in Ottoman Turkish referring to the strategic position of the location on the Bosporus. The ferry pier which is the center of the neighborhood is at 41°10′54″N 29°04′30″E.Formerly, it was a small fishing village. In the 17th century, a castle was built to check Cossack naval assaults from the Black Sea. In 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878), a part of the immigrants from the Russian occupied provinces settled in Rumelikavağı. Up until the 1960s, most of Rumelikavağı was a restricted zone by military. There are many places of interest in Rumelikavağı, such as ruins of medieval castles, mosques, churches, fountains, hamams etc. The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over the Bosphorus is to the north of the neighborhood.

Yusuf Ziya Öniş Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and is the home ground of TFF Second League team Sarıyer S.K. It was announced as the location for the Istanbul Rams, a team in the European League of Football, but was later changed to the Maltepe Hasan Polat Stadium. The stadium was built in 2009 and currently holds 4,100 people.

Bentler Nature Park (Turkish: Bentler Tabiat Parkı) is a nature park located in Sarıyer district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Bentler means "dams" in Turkish language. Situated 1 km (0.62 mi) from Bahçeköy neighborhood of Sarıyer, it covers an area of 16.3 ha (40 acres). It was established in 2011, and is one of the nine nature parks inside the Belgrad Forest. The protected area is named after the historic dams, the Topuzlu Dam (Topuzlu Bendi, built 1750), Valide Dam (Valide Bendi, built 1796) and New Dam (Yeni Bent or II. Mahmud Bendi, built 1839), which are located north of the park area. There are other structures as the Iskara Bendi and historical fountains from the Ottoman Empire era. Bentler Nature Park has two entrances, the main entrance of Belgrad Forest and Kurtkemeri Gate.The nature park offers outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, cycling and picnicing for visitors on daily basis. There are playgrounds for children. Admission is charged for visitors and vehicles.

The New Dam (Turkish: Yeni Bent), a.k.a. Mahmud II Dam (Turkish: II. Mahmut Bendi), is a historic dam located in Sarıyer district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. The New Dam was built in 1830 by Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II (reigned 1808–1839).The dam is situated next to Valide Dam north of Bahçeköy, Sarıyer inside the Bentler Nature Park, which is part of the Belgrad Forest.The New Dam impounds a tributary of Acıelma Creek and has a catchment area of 0.83 km2 (0.32 sq mi). It is a solid gravity dam constructed in masonry having a circular form. The dam is 15.62 m (51.2 ft) high from the thalweg and 101.55 m (333.2 ft) long at crest. The crest is 6.90 m (22.6 ft) and the base is 9.40 m (30.8 ft) wide. The dam has a reservoir capacity of 217,500 m3 (7,680,000 cu ft).
