Boyce station

Boyce is an unincorporated community in South Fayette and Upper St. Clair townships, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. Boyce is located along Chartiers Run, 10.5 miles (16.9 km) southwest of downtown Pittsburgh.

Mayview State Hospital was a psychiatric hospital, originally known as Marshalsea Poor Farm, located in South Fayette Township near Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. It spanned 335 acres (136 ha) and had 39 buildings, 12 of which were used for patient care and hospital administration. It had a staff count of approximately 502 as of August 2007, and an operating budget of $63 million per year. It was demolished in 2016.

Lawrence is a census-designated place located in Cecil Township, Washington County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is a Pittsburgh suburb located in northern Washington County near the Allegheny County line. As of the 2010 census the population was 540 residents.

St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, was one of the original townships created with the incorporation of Allegheny County in 1788. The township was named after Arthur St. Clair, an American Revolutionary War general and president of the Continental Congress in 1787. The township extended from the Ohio and Monongahela rivers to the southern county line. It was bounded on the west by Chartiers Creek and on the east partially by Streets Run. The township was subsequently divided between the northern part, Lower St. Clair Township, and the southern part, Upper St. Clair Township. The "upper" and "lower" referred to the elevation, as Lower St. Clair bordered on the river, the lowest elevation, and Upper St. Clair extended into the South Hills of Pittsburgh. The original Lower St. Clair Township consisted of the present-day neighborhoods of the City of Pittsburgh south of the Monongahela and Ohio, and all or parts of Green Tree, Carnegie, Baldwin, Bridgeville, Dormont, Mount Lebanon and other boroughs and townships in the South Hills. The township was subdivided several times, and today exists only as the neighborhood of St. Clair in the City of Pittsburgh. Upper St. Clair Township, subdivided many times, still exists in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Youth Ballet is an American non-profit organization previously run by former Pittsburgh Ballet Theater ballerina Jean Gedeon. The School was founded in 1983, while the company was established in 1990. PYB alumnae have performed with the New York City Ballet and other professional dance companies.In 2019, the Youth Pittsburgh Ballet changed its name to Texture Ballet School and is under the direction of Alan Obuzor.

It is known for being an affluent suburb with a nationally recognized school district. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 19,229. Around 9% of the township's area is dedicated to 14 parks and multiple fields, totaling approximately 733 acres. The township has six borders with neighboring communities, including South Fayette Township to the west, Bridgeville to the northwest, Scott Township and Mt. Lebanon to the north, Bethel Park to the east, and Peters Township in Washington County to the south.

Bridgeville is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,804 at the 2020 census. It is a residential suburb of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies covers 292 acres (118 ha) in Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania approximately 20 miles (30 km) southwest of Pittsburgh. The cemetery was dedicated on October 9, 2005 by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs' National Cemetery Administration and is one of the newest cemeteries in the National Cemetery system. The first burials took place on August 15, 2005. It was constructed on farmland and contains a small farm cemetery with graves dating to the late 18th Century. When fully completed, it will provide over 100,000 burial spaces. The cemetery spans 292 acres (1.18 km2) of land and is open to visitors daily from sunrise to sunset.
