Municipal de Vitacura Airport (ICAO: SCLC) is a general aviation airport in Vitacura, a northern suburb of the Santiago Metropolitan Region of Chile. The airport is in a narrow slot between a major city street in Vitacura and a parallel freeway. Runway 25 has an additional 200 metres (660 ft) displaced threshold. There is nearby mountainous terrain northwest through northeast.

Lycée Français Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry de Santiago (LAFASE) is a French international school in Vitacura and in Colina, both in Greater Santiago.The school serves levels maternelle (preschool) through lycée (senior high school). It opened on 5 September 1959. The Chamisero campus had the first stone laid in May 2012. The campus officially opened on May 21, 2013 although the maternelle opened in February of that year.

Vitacura is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. It is one of the most expensive and fashionable areas of Santiago. Inhabitants are primarily high income families. It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile. There is an abundance of elite private schools in Vitacura and Las Condes, including Saint George's College, Colegio Santa Úrsula, Alliance Francaise, Colegio La Maisonette, Colegio Tabancura, Colegio Los Andes, Colegio Sagrados Corazones de Manquehue and Colegio San Benito. The Costanera Norte toll-way connects Vitacura with the international airport and subway stations are located in the neighbor municipality of Las Condes. Vitacura is the site of ECLAC headquarters, home to the European Southern Observatory (ESO) headquarters in Chile, and home to Santiago's most exclusive shopping street, Avenida Alonso de Córdova. The Gliders Club of Vitacura can be located in this commune. With a privileged location, the area is considered to have ideal climate conditions for such types of flights.

The 1647 Santiago earthquake struck Santiago, Chile on the night of 13 May (22:30 local time, 02:30 UTC on 14 May) and is said to have brought virtually every building in the city to the ground. The earthquake was felt throughout the so-called Captaincy General of Chile, an administrative territory of the Spanish Empire. The maximum felt intensity was XI (Extreme) on the Mercalli intensity scale and there were about a thousand casualties.

The Bicentenario Park (Spanish: Parque Bicentenario, literally "Bicentennial Park"), is one of the largest parks of the city of Santiago, Chile. The park was designed by the Chilean architect Teodoro Fernández after winning the official design competition in 1998, and the first phase opened its doors in 2007.

The Library of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean was established in 1948 as part of the creation of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean; this coincided with the inauguration of the Economic Commission for Latin America by the United Nations, in support of its mandate in the region. The Library has four branches: the Hernán Santa Cruz Library in Santiago, the Centro de Recursos de Información y Distribución de Documentos in México D.F., the Raúl Prebisch Library in Brasilia and the Caribbean Knowledge Management Centre in Port of Spain. These four form the ECLAC Library. The library contains 109,000 books, 1,400 scientific journals and 44,200 digital documents.

CNN Chile is a Chilean pay television news channel launched on 4 December 2008. It was originally a joint venture between VTR Chile and Warner Bros. Discovery. The channel is based in Santiago, Chile.It is the local version of popular TV news channel CNN, which had previously shown interest in the Chilean market when it covered the 2005 presidential elections through CNN en Español.

The Jardín Botánico Chagual is a 33.9-hectare Chilean botanical garden in the process of development, focusing on the preservation of plants native to the Mediterranean climatic zone of Chile (between 30° and 38° S latitude). It forms part of the Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas del Estado (SNASPE; National System of Protected Areas of the Country) and of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). It is meant to complement the collections of native plants in the national botanical gardens of Viña del Mar and Valdivia.

It is the country's largest provider of subscription television, with 1,065,675 subscribers (32.8% market share, as of September 2017), and of fixed broadband Internet access (38.0% share, as of September 2017). It is also the second largest provider of fixed telephone service (20.0%, as of September 2017), behind Telefónica. Deutsche Schule Santiago (DS; Spanish: Colegio Alemán de Santiago) is a German international school in Santiago. Years 7 through 12 and the school administration are at the Las Condes campus. Years one through six are at the Vitacura Campus. Preschool classes are held at the Cerro Colorado campus in Las Condes.The first classes were held on March 3, 1891.
