West Library station

Sandy Creek is a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network, located in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The street level stop was added to the route to serve the nearby Sandy Creek Apartment complex, for which the stop was named. However, the only pedestrian access that remains is from the Timberidge apartment complex on the opposite side of the line. A variety of townhouses and condominiums have been located near the stop, as part of a transit village model designed to encourage public transit as the primary form of transportation for residents. Sandy Creek was originally one of 13 stops along the Port Authority Light Rail lines to be discontinued on June 25, 2012, in an effort to shorten commute times. However, Port Authority officials found the 1/2 mile walk from this stop to the next nearest stop (West Library) unsafe as it required going down a steep hill and crossing Library Road (Route 88). As a result, the Sandy Creek stop remains open.

A 430 space park and ride lot is located on the premises, drawing travelers from both South Park and Pittsburgh's suburbs in Washington County, located just to the south. The station is named for the Library neighborhood in which it resides, despite the name, no lending library is near the station.

Originally known as Loafer's Hollow, it was renamed Library by its residents in honor of the first library in the area, founded by John Moore in 1833. South of Library, the original course of Brownsville Road continues as Pennsylvania Route 88. Library holds an annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony.

The Bethel Park School District is a midsized, suburban school district in Allegheny County. The district covers the Municipality of Bethel Park which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, as well a portion of the borough of Castle Shannon. Bethel Park School District encompasses approximately 12 square miles (31 km2). According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 33,556. In 2009 the residents' per capita income was $25,768, while the median family income was $64,140.Bethel Park School District operates a total of eight schools. Five elementary schools host grades K-4, and children are assigned to a specific school based on proximity of their home to that school. After 4th grade, all children in Bethel Park go to the same school as the other children in their grade, since the two middle schools and high school are community-wide. The two middle schools in the district are Neil Armstrong Middle School for grades 5-6 and Independence Middle School for grade 7-8. The high school, Bethel Park High School, is home to grades 9-12. Additionally there are two Roman Catholic elementary schools for which the school district provides transportation: St. Katharine Drexel and St. Thomas More. The district borders six other school districts: Baldwin-Whitehall., Keystone Oaks, Mt. Lebanon, Peters Township (Washington County), South Park, and Upper St. Clair

South Park Township is a township in the southern part of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, near Pittsburgh. The population was 13,416 at the 2010 census.A large portion of the township consists of a county park of the same name.
