Rose Hall, Montego Bay

Rose Hall Lighthouse is a lighthouse on the northernmost tip of Jamaica.It is maintained by the Port Authority of Jamaica, an agency of the Ministry of Transport and Works.

Half Moon Point is the northernmost point of mainland Jamaica. It is named for the resort on whose property it sits. Immediately to its west is Half Moon Bay, and a little to its east is Rose Hall.

Cinnamon Hill is a great house and sugar plantation associated with the Cornwall plantation located in St James Parish, Jamaica. It is close to Rose Hall and overlooks the sea. The house was started by Samuel Barrett junior (d. 1760), who had bought the Cornwall Estate. However he died and the work was continued by his son Edward Barrett (1734–1798). Edward also completed the Cinnamon Hill sugar works in 1784. The plantation is also said to be haunted by the White Witch. The namesake of a golf course on the estate grounds. The country music musician Johnny Cash owned the property for many years.

Sandals Cay (formerly called Kokomo Island) is part of the privately owned Sandals Royal Caribbean all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It is apparent that Sandals resorts has an almost identical island in their Nassau, Bahamas location called the Royal Bahamian. The original name for the island came from the song "Kokomo”. It is a very small island (2.5 acres or 1.012 hectares), and according to the Sandals Royal Caribbean website, the only amenities on the island are a Thai restaurant, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a bar, and a secluded beach. The island caters to couples on tropical getaways.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Montego Bay (Latin: Dioecesis Sinus Sereni) is a Latin suffragan diocese of the Roman Catholic Church located on the northwest part of the island of Jamaica (Greater Antilles), in the Caribbean ecclesiastical province of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kingston (which covers all Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Belize), yet depends on the missionary Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Its episcopal see is the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, in Montego Bay, Saint James (civil) parish. Pope Francis appointed Burchell Alexander McPherson of the Archdiocese of Kingston the third Bishop of Montego Bay on April 11, 2013. He was consecrated and installed at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Montego Bay on June 8, 2013.

Avianca Flight 671, registration HK-177, was a Lockheed Constellation that crashed and burned on landing at Montego Bay, Jamaica, on 21 January 1960. It was and remains the worst accident in Jamaican aviation history.The flight had originated at Miami International Airport, Florida. The aircraft operating the flight was a Lockheed L-1049E Super Constellation used by Avianca for its Bogota-Montego Bay routes. Thirty-seven of the 46 passengers and crew aboard were killed.

Sangster International Airport (IATA: MBJ, ICAO: MKJS) is an international airport located 3 mi (4.8 km) east of Montego Bay, Jamaica. The airport is capable of handling nine million passengers per year. It serves as the most popular airport for tourists visiting the north coast of Jamaica. The airport is named after former Jamaican Prime Minister Sir Donald Sangster. The airport is run by the management company, MBJ Airports Limited, whose leading stakeholder is Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, and minority-owned by Vantage Airport Group. Sangster was privatised and turned over by Airports Authority of Jamaica to the consortium in 2003. A 2021 study found that Sangster International Airport was one of the top 20 most vulnerable international airports to climate change caused sea level rise.

CanJet Flight 918 (CJA 918, C6 918) was a flight that was on 19 April 2009 to have taken off from Sangster International Airport (MBJ), Montego Bay, Jamaica, bound for Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), Halifax, Canada, but was instead seized before takeoff for hours by an armed, lone hijacker. This was the first incidence of a hijacking on Jamaican soil, and the second time a Canadian airliner has been hijacked.

Cornwall Regional Hospital is a public hospital in Montego Bay, Jamaica, located in the Mount Salem district. It is the main hospital in western Jamaica. The hospital is operated by the Western Regional Health Authority on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Jamaica.
