Fitzherbert Park

The Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery centre is a New Zealand wildlife rehabilitation facility and visitor centre in Palmerston North. The centre treats injured wildlife and allows the public to watch birds and other animals recovering from treatment. The 2,900-square-metre (31,000 sq ft) complex is situated in the Victoria Esplanade and is owned by the Palmerston North City Council and co-managed with the Massey University School of Veterinary Science.The centre was built in 2018 to provide facilities for the Massey University Wildbase team to looks after birds and other wildlife recovering after treatment at Massey University's Wildbase hospital. It includes an education centre, rehabilitation aviaries and a walk-in aviary accessible for visitors since its opening to the public in February 2019. A team of volunteers provides educational information and public tours.Although Wildbase Recovery's main purpose is to treat injured wildlife, oversee their recovery and get them back into the natural environment rather than permanently house animals like a zoo, the centre has been popular with the public, having had more than 100,000 visitors in its first year.

Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School (commonly known as PNINS - said PIN-INS) is a state coeducational intermediate school for year seven and year eight, boys and girls located in the central area of Palmerston North, New Zealand. Students are placed in a composite class on the first day of Year 7 where they will remain for the two years of their time at the school. As of 2013, there is now a quite high chance of moving teams/classes at the end of the year.

All Saints Church in Palmerston North, New Zealand, is an Anglican heritage-registered church designed by eminent architect Frederick de Jersey Clere. The church has been closed since 2013 over concerns about earthquake resistance but there are plans to strengthen the structure.

Caccia-Birch House (previously: Nannestad Homestead, Woodhey, Vice-Regal Residence, The Convalescent Home for Women of the Services) is a New Zealand colonial homestead and a Heritage New Zealand Category I Historic Place. It is located at 130 Te Awe Awe Street in the city of Palmerston North. Completed in 1892, it is named after William Caccia Birch and his wife Maude, who gifted the property to the government in 1941.The property, owned by Palmerston North City Council, is administered by the Caccia Birch Trust Board, and operates as a conference and events venue on a cost-recovery basis. The Coach House Museum includes photos of the property's previous owners.

Centrepoint Theatre is a theatre and theatre company in Palmerston North in New Zealand. Established in 1973, the theatre has employed more than 2500 actors and produced more New Zealand plays than any other theatre.

Hokowhitu Lagoon, also sometimes called Centennial Lagoon, is a natural oxbow lake in the city of Palmerston North, New Zealand. Hokowhitu was created from a meander of the Manawatu River. Many features surround the lagoon including a walkway, Caccia Birch House, and a former campus of a Massey University — the facilities of which are now used by the New Zealand Defence Force, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and the Abbey Theatre Company. The lagoon also gives its name to the surrounding suburb, Hokowhitu. An artesian bore, which was completed in 2009, is drilled 94 metres (308 ft) into an underground aquifer which supplies the lagoon with 250,000 litres of water daily.

Te Manawa (Māori: The Heart) is a museum, art gallery and science centre in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It is operated by the Te Manawa Museums Trust, a charitable trust incorporated on 20 August 1999. From that date, the Trust assumed responsibility for art works and heritage assets transferred to its care but held on behalf of others. From 1 July 2000 the Trust commenced leasing the premises and managing the institution under agreements entered into with the Palmerston North City Council. The primary objective of the Trust is to provide interactive experience in art, science and history through acquiring, conserving, researching, developing, communicating and exhibiting material evidence of people and their environment, rather than making a financial return. The Trust is controlled by Palmerston North City Council and is a Council Controlled Organisation as defined under section 6 of the Local Government Act 2002, by virtue of the Council’s right to appoint more than 50% of the Board of Trustees. The Te Manawa complex also houses the New Zealand Rugby Museum adjacent to the civic center, near The Square in Palmerston North, on land which was historically the railway station, before the trains were moved from the center of city to the west of the city. Some dozens of the holdings are contributed to NZMuseums, the combined catalog of museums across New Zealand.Te Manawa's public spaces include semi-permanent exhibitions, local exhibitions, touring exhibitions, events and a shop. Te Manawa is highly ranked as a tourist attraction by both Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet. It was a finalist in the 2012 New Zealand museum awards.
