Central Election Commission (Latvian: Centrālā vēlēšanu komisija, abbreviated CVK) is the commission responsible for the organising and conducting of elections in the Republic of Latvia. It is regulated by Latvian national law. It organises elections to the Saeima, the European Parliament, local councils as well as referendums. The CVK is an independent state-owned institution and consists of nine members serving four year terms: the chairperson plus seven of the members are elected by the Saeima, while the ninth member is chosen among the judges of the Supreme Court of Latvia.The commission was established in its current form after on 8 December 1992 after Latvian independence from the Soviet Union. It was, however, originally formed on 20 July 1922 for the first Saeima elections later same year. Since March 2019, Kristīne Bērziņa has served as the commission's chairperson.

The Saeima (Latvian pronunciation: [ˈsai.ma]) is the parliament of the Republic of Latvia. It is a unicameral parliament consisting of 100 members who are elected by proportional representation, with seats allocated to political parties which gain at least 5% of the popular vote. Elections are scheduled to be held once every four years, normally on the first Saturday of October. The most recent elections were held in October 2022. The President of Latvia can dismiss the Saeima and request early elections. The procedure for dismissing it involves substantial political risk to the president, including a risk of loss of office. On 28 May 2011 president Valdis Zatlers decided to initiate the dissolution of the Saeima, which was approved in a referendum, and the Saeima was dissolved on 23 July 2011.The current Speaker of the Saeima is Edvards Smiltēns of the United List party.

Latvijas Radio (shortened LR; literally "Latvia's Radio") is Latvia's national public-service radio broadcasting network. It began broadcasting on 1 November 1925, and has its headquarters in the Latvian capital, Riga. Latvijas Radio broadcasts six different channels in the FM band as well as via the internet: Latvijas Radio 1, Latvijas Radio 2, Latvijas Radio 3 – Klasika, Latvijas Radio 4 – Doma laukums, Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv, and Latvijas Radio 6 – Radio NABA.

Art Museum Riga Bourse (Latvian: Mākslas muzejs Rīgas Birža) is a museum in Riga, Latvia. It was established in 1920 and contains the most extensive collection of world art in Latvia from Ancient Egyptian/Middle Eastern art dating back to 5000 BC to present.

St James's Cathedral (Latvian: Svētā Jēkaba katedrāle, German: Jakobskirche) is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Riga in Latvia. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint James the Greater. The building is part of the Old Riga UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies directly opposite the House of the Livonian Noble Corporation, the meeting place of Latvia's parliament the Saeima. The church is sometimes misleadingly called St. Jacob's. The confusion arises because English, unlike most languages, uses different names for the Old Testament name Jacob and the New Testament name James.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Riga is an archdiocese administered from the capital city of Riga in Latvia. Its cathedral is Svētā Jēkaba Katedrāle. It is a metropolitan archdiocese which also helps to administer three suffragan dioceses in the Ecclesiastical province of Riga in Latvia.

Latvijas Radio 5 - Pieci.lv is part of Latvijas Radio public service broadcasting network based in Riga, Latvia. Pieci.lv is public service broadcasting for youth, combining subculture, different lifestyle and opinion leaders. Currently the network consists of nine internet only stations and a nationwide FM station. On 15 March 2015, Pieci.lv competed in first European Radio Championship which was held in Milan. In the Championship the station was represented by Toms Grēviņš and Marta Līne.

The House of the Livonian Noble Corporation (Latvian: Vidzemes bruņniecības nams) also known as Saeima House (Saeimas nams), is the seat of the parliament of Latvia, the Saeima. It is located in the Vecpilsēta (Old Town) neighbourhood of downtown Riga.

The Latvian Museum of Architecture is a museum in Riga, Latvia. It is housed in an old medieval building which is part of the Three Brothers and belongs to the Latvian Museum Association.

Arsenāls – Fine Arts Museum is an art museum in Riga, Latvia. The museum's collections include Baltic and Latvian art from the 18th century forward. Arsenāls at Torņa iela 1 is one of the largest exhibition halls in Riga. It is located in a customs warehouse of the 19th century. It was adapted for museum use in the second half of the 1980s. The hall also hosted exhibitions of conceptual art, international projects and solo exhibitions by Latvian and foreign artists. Since February 2020 it is closed for the reconstruction of the building with the idea that the Arsenāls should be the home of a permanent display of Latvian art from the second half of the 20th century.

The Powder Tower (Latvian: Pulvertornis) is situated in Riga, Latvia, and originally a part of the defensive system of the town. The current Powder Tower was built in 1650 and renovated in the years 1937 to 1940 when it was added to the structure of the Latvian War Museum.

The Large Guild (Latvian: Lielā ģilde) is a building in Riga, Latvia. It is located near Livonian Square on 6 Amatu Street. The Large Guild was erected in the years 1854–1859 and built in English Gothic style with Gothic forms. It is one of the oldest public buildings in the Baltic states. The building is currently used as the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra concert hall.
