The House of the Livonian Noble Corporation (Latvian: Vidzemes bruņniecības nams) also known as Saeima House (Saeimas nams), is the seat of the parliament of Latvia, the Saeima. It is located in the Vecpilsēta (Old Town) neighbourhood of downtown Riga.

St James's Cathedral (Latvian: Svētā Jēkaba katedrāle, German: Jakobskirche) is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Riga in Latvia. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint James the Greater. The building is part of the Old Riga UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies directly opposite the House of the Livonian Noble Corporation, the meeting place of Latvia's parliament the Saeima. The church is sometimes misleadingly called St. Jacob's. The confusion arises because English, unlike most languages, uses different names for the Old Testament name Jacob and the New Testament name James.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Riga is an archdiocese administered from the capital city of Riga in Latvia. Its cathedral is Svētā Jēkaba Katedrāle. It is a metropolitan archdiocese which also helps to administer three suffragan dioceses in the Ecclesiastical province of Riga in Latvia.

The Saeima (Latvian pronunciation: [ˈsai.ma]) is the parliament of the Republic of Latvia. It is a unicameral parliament consisting of 100 members who are elected by proportional representation, with seats allocated to political parties which gain at least 5% of the popular vote. Elections are scheduled to be held once every four years, normally on the first Saturday of October. The most recent elections were held in October 2022. The President of Latvia can dismiss the Saeima and request early elections. The procedure for dismissing it involves substantial political risk to the president, including a risk of loss of office. On 28 May 2011 president Valdis Zatlers decided to initiate the dissolution of the Saeima, which was approved in a referendum, and the Saeima was dissolved on 23 July 2011.The current Speaker of the Saeima is Edvards Smiltēns of the United List party.

St. Mary Magdalene's Church (Latvian: Svētās Marijas Magdalēnas Romas katoļu baznīca un klosteris) is a Roman Catholic church in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The church is situated at the addresses 4 Klostera Street and 2 Mazaja Pils Street.The church is named for Jesus' companion, Mary Magdalene.

The Three Brothers (Latvian: Trīs brāļi) is a building complex consisting of three houses, situated in Riga, Latvia. The houses together form the oldest complex of dwelling houses in Riga. Each house represents various periods of development of dwelling house construction.The building at 17 Maza Pils Street is the oldest, dating from the late 15th century. The exterior of the building is characterised by crow-stepped gables, Gothic decorations and a few early Renaissance details. Originally the building consisted internally of one large room and an attic used for storage. The house was restored in 1955–57 by architect Pēteris Saulītis.The neighbouring house, 19 Maza Pils Street, has an exterior dating from 1646, with a stone portal added in 1746. The style of the building shows influences from Dutch Mannerism.The last house of the three, located in 21 Maza Pils Street, is a narrow Baroque building which gained its present look probably during the late 17th century.The Three Brothers complex today houses the State Inspection for Heritage Protection and the Latvian Museum of Architecture.On April 1, 2020, the European Commission awarded Three Brothers the European Heritage Label.

The Latvian Museum of Architecture is a museum in Riga, Latvia. It is housed in an old medieval building which is part of the Three Brothers and belongs to the Latvian Museum Association.

Grand Palace Hotel is a 5 star hotel in Riga, Latvia, in a building originally erected 1877 to house a bank, but now with 56 hotel rooms. Grand Palace Hotel is member of The Leading Hotels of the World, and has been voted as Latvia's Leading Hotel for six years, latest being in 2010.

Central Election Commission (Latvian: Centrālā vēlēšanu komisija, abbreviated CVK) is the commission responsible for the organising and conducting of elections in the Republic of Latvia. It is regulated by Latvian national law. It organises elections to the Saeima, the European Parliament, local councils as well as referendums. The CVK is an independent state-owned institution and consists of nine members serving four year terms: the chairperson plus seven of the members are elected by the Saeima, while the ninth member is chosen among the judges of the Supreme Court of Latvia.The commission was established in its current form after on 8 December 1992 after Latvian independence from the Soviet Union. It was, however, originally formed on 20 July 1922 for the first Saeima elections later same year. Since March 2019, Kristīne Bērziņa has served as the commission's chairperson.

Latvijas Radio (shortened LR; literally "Latvia's Radio") is Latvia's national public-service radio broadcasting network. It began broadcasting on 1 November 1925, and has its headquarters in the Latvian capital, Riga. Latvijas Radio broadcasts six different channels in the FM band as well as via the internet: Latvijas Radio 1, Latvijas Radio 2, Latvijas Radio 3 – Klasika, Latvijas Radio 4 – Doma laukums, Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv, and Latvijas Radio 6 – Radio NABA.

The Swedish Gate (Latvian: Zviedru vārti) is situated in Riga, Latvia, and was erected 1698 as a part of the Riga Wall to provide access to barracks outside the city wall.
