The Kilmorie house is a heritage home located at 21 Withrow Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario, the former home of one of the region's earliest settlers. The house was built circa 1840-1850 for farmer William Scott, who emigrated to Upper Canada in 1819 from Ireland.Kilmorie serves as a reminder of the area’s agricultural history. It is one of Ottawa's oldest surviving houses, built 13-23 years after the Bytown Museum building, the oldest surviving stone house in OttawaIn 1915, it was bought by the Poet William Wilfred Campbell, who moved in with his wife and extended family. He was the owner who named it Kilmorie. Campbell worked days off and weekends to transform the rough grounds of the compound that surrounded the house into gardens and landscaping. Today, the house sits on 2.1 acres of land. Campbell enjoyed three years at Kilmorie, before he died on New Year's morning, 1918. The Poets Pathway have put a plaque on Colonnade Road near Campbell's beloved Kilmorie, that details one of his poems, Down the Merivale Road.The house was bought in 1950 by Dr. J David Roger, an internist and radiologist and his wife. The couple lived in the home until their respective deaths. Dr. J David Roger died in June 2015 at the age of 98. He lived in the house for 65 years.

The Nepean Museum is a museum in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a community-focused museum that preserves, makes accessible and communicates the former municipality of Nepean's history. Artifacts related to Nepean, from its beginnings to the 20th century, are restored and displayed in the museum galleries and grounds. The museum has an open concept exhibit area of approximately 2000sq ft. The museum collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and interprets the works of man and nature in Nepean. Its address is 16 Rowley Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Although daily admission to the museum is free, special event and program fees may apply. The museum is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Closed November 11, December 25 and 26, and January 1.

Merivale High School is a public high school in the Borden Farm neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school is known for its International Baccalaureate student program, but also runs French Immersion programs and visual art, music, and co-operative education programs. Despite being designed for over two thousand students, Merivale High School's population fell to an all-time low of 650 students for the 2013–14 school year. This is attributed to changing neighbourhood demographics, as well as new schools in the subdivision of Barrhaven. It was announced in October 2016 that Merivale High School would add both grades 7 and 8 to increase student enrollment for the 2017–18 school year. With the addition of grade 7 and 8 students from various feeder schools, the student body increased to around 1200.

CKQB-FM (106.9 FM, Jump! 106.9) is a radio station licensed to Ottawa, Ontario. Owned by Corus Entertainment, it broadcasts a Top 40/CHR format. CKQB's studios are located at 1504 Merivale Road in Nepean along with sister station CJOT-FM, while its transmitter is located in Camp Fortune, Quebec.

CJOH-DT (channel 13) is a television station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, part of the CTV Television Network. It is owned and operated by network parent Bell Media alongside Pembroke-licensed CTV 2 outlet CHRO-TV (channel 5). Both stations share studios with Bell's Ottawa radio properties at the Market Media Mall building on George Street in downtown Ottawa's ByWard Market, while CJOH-DT's transmitter is located on the Ryan Tower at Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec, north of Gatineau.

City View (also known as St. Claire Gardens) is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located within the former city of Nepean. Most of the homes in it were built from the 1930s to the 1960s. By the 2000s some of the home were demolished and built into new ones; and they still are today. The area existed as a police village from 1954 to 1974. Its boundaries at the time were: North: the former Ottawa city limits (parallel to Baseline Road) to the north; East: Clyde Avenue until its intersection with Merivale, then east to a line behind the homes on the east side Gibey Dr then south to Capilano Dr then west to Merivale then south to the southern boundary; South: Meadowlands Drive West: The now in-filled section of Pinecrest creek behind the homes on the west side of Thatcher Street to David Dr and continuing east in a straight line past Withrow Avenue until what is now Lentini Way and then due north along the eastern boundary of what is now Algonquin College.Due to its older history, the neighbourhood is set up with a grid pattern of streets. According to the Canada 2011 Census, the population of this area was approximately 3,321. The neighbourhood is right next to Algonquin College, and contains Elizabeth Wynwood High School. It contains a number of small parks; St. Nicholas Park, Starwood Park, City View Park and Doug Frobel Park. The neighbourhood also contains the Nepean Museum. The City View Curling Club is on the other side of Merivale on Capilano Drive.

Borden Farm is a neighbourhood in Knoxdale-Merivale Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the former city of Nepean, which was amalgamated into Ottawa in 2001. It was built on the site of the former Borden Dairy Farm. The land was bought by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) in 1959. The Borden farm community was built in 1967–1976 as a joint development of the CMHC and the Ontario Housing Corporation and features single-family homes with parks and bikeways placed behind the houses, instead of on the streets. There was more development in the 1980s and early 1990s. The rough boundaries of the neighbourhood are Merivale Road to the west, Bowhill Avenue to the north, Nepean Creek to the south and Chesteron Drive to the east. According to the 2016 Canada Census, the population for this area was 2,668.One of the housing developments found alongside the Borden Farm neighbourhood is Fisher Glen, built in the early 1980s. Other housing developments are Stewart Farm, Parkwood Hills and Carleton Heights. It is home to four parks, shopping strips on Merivale, a small shopping strip on Viewmount Drive, and four schools Omer-Deslauriers High School (formerly J.S. Woodsworth High School), Century Public School, Laurier-Carrière Catholic Elementary School and Merivale High School. J. S. Woodsworth High School operated from 1973 until its closure in 2005. Merivale Mall is a short walking distance from the neighbourhood. The Borden Farm Child Care Centre is located on Chesterton Drive.

Crestview is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was originally part of the City of Nepean before amalgamation with Ottawa in 2001. Together with the neighbouring community of Meadowlands, the area is served by the Crestview-Meadowlands Community Association. The community association's boundaries are Meadowlands Drive on the north, Merivale Road on the east, the CN Railtracks on the south and Woodroffe Avenue on the west.Most of the homes are bungalows which were popular in the 1950s and early 1960s. Later on, townhouses were built behind Merivale Mall and another section was built on Viewmount at the corner of Sullivan and Parkside Crescent. The neighbourhood is believed to be named after the shape of Viewmount Drive going in a crest. Originally, Viewmount ended at Meirvale Road and was extended to Fisher Avenue in the early 1980s for the development of Fisher Glen.

Parkwood Hills is a neighbourhood in Knoxdale-Merivale Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, it was located in the City of Nepean. It is notable for the thriller Parkwood Hills (2002) which was filmed on location in the area by Kolin Casagrande, and for being a typical and illustrative example of town planning and development by Minto in the context of its position as the property manager for the National Capital Commission.

Laurentian High School was a former Ottawa high school. It was located on Baseline Rd. at the corner of Clyde, in the city's West End. The school opened in 1958. LHS provided education to grade 9 through 12 through an unsemestered curriculum as established by the Ontario Ministry of Education 1958–2005. LHS provided grade 13 from 1961 to 2003. The property is located at one edge of River Ward, with College Ward and Knoxdale-Merivale Ward adjacent.

Nepean Creek Park is a linear watershed park, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Greenbelt master plan of the National Capital Commission. It runs East-West along North Colonnade Road for more than a kilometre. The park is located about two kilometres South of Hog's Back Falls.

L'École secondaire publique Omer-Deslauriers is a French public school in the west of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school's enrolment is approximately 600 students. The school building formerly housed J.S. Woodsworth Secondary School, which was part of the Ottawa School Board / Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, until it closed in 2003. The school was initially known as École Champlain, then from 1999 to 2002 it was called École de l'Ouest, and was finally renamed to honour Omer Deslauriers (died 1999), an Ontarian educator and public serviceman who promoted establishment of several Francophone schools in Ottawa in the 1960s.The school is part of the International Baccalaureate's World Schools; it offers both the Middle Years Program (grades 7 to 10) and Diploma Program (grades 11 and 12). Students require a minimum of 80% in order to join and/or to stay in either program. The high school also offers a construction specialization and a communications programme. Other than that, this school offers two Specialist High Skills Major, one for construction and one for information and communication technologies. In 2005–2006, the school's basketball team was the first francophone high school to win a bronze medal at the OFSAA AA Provincial Tournament. They also won the school spirit award. The school has many athletic programs, and like many Francophone schools has an improvisational comedy team.
