Cashpoint Plantation House, also formerly known as Ash Point and Woodlawn, is located shortly north of Louisiana Highway 71 between Taylortown and Elm Grove in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. It was built in about 1875 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 11, 1982.Its NRHP nomination described it as "a late provincial example of a Greek Revival raised cottage of moderate size. It is located off Louisiana Highway 71 in the flat cotton farming country of southern Bossier Parish. Several alterations were made in the twentieth century; however, in the judgment of the State Historic Preservation Office, the house retains sufficient integrity to warrant listing."It was built as a one-story wood frame central hall plan raised plantation house with a rear wing for kitchen and dining room. It had one room on each side of the hall. It has a five-bay facade with a gallery with square posts having molded capitals. It has an entablature which is "unusually large". Greek Revival elements include transoms and side lights at the front and rear central doors. The house also has some Italianate influences: large round head panels of the front doors and "jig sawn balustrade work".

Taylortown is a plantation village in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is located near a junction of US-71, La- 527, and Ash Point road, on the Red River, between Moon and Red Chute Lakes.It is part of the Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area and a suburb of Shreveport.

Wat Buddhasamakeevanaram is a Thai Theravada Buddhist temple located in Bossier City, Louisiana. The temple belongs to the Dhammayuttika Nikaya order. It is the first Thai temple established in the state of Louisiana.

Wallace Lake is a freshwater lake in Caddo Parish, in northwestern Louisiana, United States. The lake is much wider than it is tall. However, the actual area of the lake varies drastically annually. It can be from 3,000 to 9,000 acres (1,200 to 3,600 ha). The lake has a dam that runs water out to form Wallace Bayou, which combines with Bayou Pierre (Louisiana).

Parkway High School is a class 5A public high school located in outside of Bossier City, Louisiana, United States. The school is under the directory of the Bossier Parish School Board, and is currently under the administration of Principal Steven Vrbka. Parkway was ranked as a "Top Gains School" by the Louisiana Department of Education in 2012.Alongside the main campus, the school operates property at the Preston Crownover Stadium, which serves as the school's main athletics facility. The school is partnered with Bossier Parish Community College and the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning to provide collegiate-level dual enrollment courses and vocational courses.

Oakland Plantation is a plantation house located in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. The plantation and an adjoining cemetery are located on Sligo Road, south of Haughton, Louisiana. Dr. Abel Skannal purchased the land and built a house on it in the early 1800s. Construction continued from 1838 to the early 1840s. The rear part of the house was modified in the 1960s, the facade of the house has remained the same since it was built.Doctor Skannal and his family owned five plantations totaling over 8,000 acres (3,200 ha).Claims of paranormal activity have been reported. Thermostats reportedly would randomly turn down to 0°F, children's blankets would be ripped from the bed, and chairs would rock on the front porch.

Captain Shreve High School (CSHS) is a public high school in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. Opened in the fall of 1967, the school was named for Captain Henry Miller Shreve, who was responsible for clearing the log jam on the Red River, which led to the founding of Shreveport in 1835. Captain Shreve has the second largest enrollment of high schools in the Caddo Parish Public Schools district with an enrollment of over 1,635 students (2018-19 school year).
