Sweet River

Savanna-la-Mar (commonly known as Sav-la-Mar, or simply Sav) is the chief town and capital of Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica. A coastal town, it contains an 18th-century fort constructed for colonial defence against pirates in the Caribbean.

Manning's School in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, which started offering classes in 1738, is the oldest continuous operating high school in Jamaica. The school's motto is rendered in latin "Vita sine litteris mors est " its english translation being "Life without learning is death." There is often debate whether Manning's or Wolmer's Trust School for Boys, one of the Wolmer's Schools is the oldest in Jamaica or the oldest continuous operating high school in Jamaica. Thomas Manning (who bequeathed the land and initial funding for Manning's in 1710 ) did so before John Wolmer (who's will at his death, provided for the monies to fund Wolmer's in 1729). Manning's continued without ceasing since its doors were first opened, whilst Wolmer's record provides that for two years (1755-1757) its doors were closed.

Mount Charles is a 114-metre (374 ft) high hill in St Elizabeth, Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica.

Bluefields Beach Park is a public beach in Bluefields in the south-east of Westmoreland, Jamaica. It gets very busy at weekends and holidays.The old road from Black River to Savanna-la-Mar is separated from the beach by only a low stone wall. However, this old road was replaced by a slightly more inland bypass in the 1990s and one now approaches the beach through gates from a junction at the western end of this bypass. As a result, there is now extensive car parking on the approach road and within a gated Beach Park. The whole area can become very full on holidays. A further set of gates provides pedestrian access to the old road by the beach.The beach is narrow and about 1 km long. It has soft white sand and also quite a few stones. The stones may have appeared after Hurricane Dean.The swimming is generally regarded as very good, although the exposed situation can result in waves if there is a swell.There is little shade from the sun on the beach and no chairs or umbrellas are on offer. However, the Beach Park is located in a shady, well-wooded area and offers showering/changing/toilet facilities for a fee. The park also has a number of small restaurants which serve locally caught fish.

Petersfield is a small town in Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica. It shares its name with five other places in Jamaica.The town was founded in the 18th century and named after Peter Beckford, a slave owner who settled the Roaring River Estate. Petersfield was a dormitory community for workers on that estate.To the south of the town's main junction lies the neighborhood locally called "Carawina" which was the original name given to the plantation which predated it. According to an estate record proved in 1723, the original owner of the land that would be called Carawina was Rowland Williams of Glamorgan west of present-day Cardiff. The name "Carawina" given to the estate highly suggests its founders were of Welsh origin. Carawina appears to be the Anglicization of the Welsh name "Carwyn" which is a combination of the Welsh word caru "to love" and gwyn "white, fair, blessed." By 1764, John Wedderburn of Ballendean was listed as an associated owner of the estate. This is the same Wedderburn who was a litigant in the Knight v. Wedderburn court case.Today Petersfield is a one street town with a community health centre at one end and a cemetery at the other. It is the home of many of the workers at the Frome Sugar Estate as well as many other business people with interests in the nearby coastal cities of Savannah La Mar, Negril and even Montego Bay to the North. The reggae artist Winston Hubert McIntosh was born in Petersfield, and later on, when he lived in Jamaica's capital Kingston, he changed his name to Peter McIntosh (Peter Tosh).

Bluefields is a settlement in Westmoreland Parish on the Caribbean island of Jamaica. It contains a major beach, Bluefields Beach. In Spanish Jamaica, Bluefields was known as Oristan.The town was named after Abraham Blauvelt, a Dutch-Jewish pirate, privateer, and explorer of Central America and the western Caribbean.

Westmoreland is the westernmost parish in Jamaica, located on the south side of the island. It is situated south of Hanover, southwest of Saint James, and northwest of Saint Elizabeth, in the county of Cornwall. The chief town and capital is Savanna-la-Mar. Negril, a famous tourist destination, is also situated in the parish.

Frome Sports Club is a multi-use stadium in Frome near Savanna-la-Mar, Jamaica. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It serves as a home ground of Reno FC. The stadium holds 2,000 people.
