The Birches (Irish: Coill Bheithe) is a small village in northern County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is 6 miles northwest of Portadown, close to junction 12 on the M1 Motorway and to the southern shore of Lough Neagh. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 150. It is within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon council area. The Birches is part of the civil parish of Tartaraghan, and most of the settlement is within the townlands of Ballynarry and Clonmakate. Two parts to the village can be distinguished, that at Robinstown Road, centred on a public housing estate and a school, and that part adjacent to the M1 junction.

Coney Island is an island in Lough Neagh, Northern Ireland. It is about 1 km offshore from Maghery in County Armagh, is thickly wooded and of nearly 9 acres (36,000 m2) in area. It lies between the mouths of the River Blackwater and the River Bann in the south-west corner of Lough Neagh. Boat trips to the island are available at weekends from Maghery Country Park or Kinnego Marina. The island is owned by the National Trust and managed on their behalf by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. Coney Island Flat is a rocky outcrop adjacent to the island. Although Samuel Lewis called Coney Island the only island in County Armagh, Armagh's section of Lough Neagh also includes Croaghan Island, as well as the marginal cases of Padian and Derrywarragh Island.

Tartaraghan is a small village and civil parish in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 90 people. It is within Craigavon Borough Council area. Tartaraghan is also the name of the parish of which the village is part. The name was formerly spelt Taghterraghan and is thought to come from Irish Teach Tíreacháin, meaning 'Tíreachán's house'. However, the origin Tart Aracháin (meaning "Arachán's spot") has also been put forth.

Derrytrasna (from Irish Doire Trasna) is a small village and townland in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The village is on a plateau surrounded mainly by bogland in the north of the county. It lies between Lough Neagh, Lough Gullion and the River Bann.

Maghery (from Irish an Machaire, meaning 'the plain') is a small village and townland in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It lies on the southwest shore of Lough Neagh, near Derrywarragh Island, in the northwest corner of the county. As it sits between the estuaries of the rivers Blackwater and Bann (which are only two miles apart), Maghery was of strategic significance in the past. In the 2001 census Maghery had a population of 2001 people. It lies within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area. It has a park.

Derrywarragh Island is a boulder clay island on Lough Neagh, Northern Ireland. It is linked by a bridge to Maghery, County Armagh. The island is approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) northwest of Portadown. Most of the island is wet grassland. There are also areas of wet woodland, marshes and swamps. The island is also regularly the home of wintering and breeding birds.

High Moss Sarsfields Gaelic Football Club (Irish: CLG Sáirséiligh na Móinte Arda) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Derrytrasna, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. In addition to having numerous Gaelic football teams it is also a centre for Ladies' Gaelic football and other sports and activities. Scotch Street is a village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is within the townland of Timakeel (from the Irish Tigh Mhic Caoil) and part of the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 120 people. Currently there is estimated to be around 1000 people living there. Within the village there is a post office, gospel hall, primary school and a filling station/mace shop. There were recent additions to the village when outlets for five new shops were built. Moved in were; a chip shop, hair salon and a butcher. Since then the butcher has been very successful becoming one of the most popular around County Armagh. Matthew Feeko Fegan keeps a firm grip on the area. Although he is from The glen in Newry he has close connections with the area. Richmount Primary School has grown in numbers since the building of new estates on either side of Scotch Street. Scotch Street is mainly a unionist area, with a majority population of Protestants living in the area. There has been an increasing number of foreign nationals who also live in the area. The village is the only significant settlement between the large town of Portadown in County Armagh and the village of Moy in County Tyrone. Rapid growth in the population of the settlement has come about with the development of many new housing estates including Keelmount Grange and Timakeel Close.

Maghery Sean MacDermott's GAC (Irish: CLG Sheáin Mhic Diarmada, An Mhachaire) is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club from Maghery, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The club's home ground is Felix Hamill Park which opened in 2003 (formerly St Mary's GAA Park, opened 1956)

The River Blackwater (Irish: An Abhainn Mhór) or Ulster Blackwater is a river mainly in County Armagh and County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Its source is to the north of Fivemiletown, County Tyrone. The river divides County Armagh from County Tyrone and also divides County Tyrone from County Monaghan, making it part of the border between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Maghery Country Park is a park in the village of Maghery, County Armagh, Northern Ireland, on the shores of Lough Neagh. It covers 30 acres (120,000 m2) and includes five km of woodland walks and picnic areas and is used for birdwatching, fishing, and walking. Coney Island lies one km off shore and boat trips are available from the park at weekends. It is an important local amenity and tourist attraction and is managed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

Lough Gullion is a small lake north of Craigavon, County Armagh in Northern Ireland.
