Zavidovtsi is a village in Svoge Municipality, Sofia Province, western Bulgaria.

Dramsha or Drumsha (Bulgarian: Дръмша) is a village in Kostinbrod Municipality, Sofia Province Bulgaria. The legend goes that during Ottoman times, the invading Turks couldn't reach the village due to bad weather and non-existent roads. Therefore, they called it Drumsha which means "Bad road" in rough translation. Until the late 90s it was lively place often visited by many people coming from Sofia for the summer due to the village's proximity to the capital. However, more recently the population has decreased significantly and Drumsha is somehow less preferred destination. As a result, some establishments like restaurant and department store were closed and nowadays most people depend on either home-produced basic goods or import them from Sofia or nearby town of Kostinbrod. Nature is well preserved in and around Drumsha, mainly due to the lesser impact of humans. However, the village - and the region as a whole - suffer from a lack of water. Soil is generally very dry and not fertile. Livestock is common among local population and it is usual for almost every household to have goats, cows, horses, pigs, etc.

Iskrets is a village in Svoge Municipality, Sofia Province, western Bulgaria.It is located 10 km west of Svoge town. It is situated around the shores of Iskretska River (a tributary of the Iskar, itself a right tributary of the Danube), surrounded by Mala Planina and Ponor Planina. The village can be reached by car either through E-79 going from Sofia to Lom or through Road 164 from Svoge to Buchin Prohod. There is also public transport departing from Sofia Sever station or from Svoge and passing through Iskrets. A Pulmonary Disease Recreation Center called "Belodroben Sanatorium" used to exist in the village due to the healing properties of the air in the region. It has been built back in 1908. Now it functions as a standard Active Treatment Hospital. Iskrets is the birthplace of French singer Sylvie Vartan.

Petarch (Bulgarian: Петърч [pɛˈtɤrt͡ʃ]) is a village in Kostinbrod Municipality, Sofia Province, located in western Bulgaria approximately 5 km south-west of the town of Kostinbrod. In the centre there is a monument, several pubs and a computer club. There exists an Orthodox church and a school. There are several buses to Kostinbrod, Slivnitsa and Sofia. Petarch was first mentioned as Bedriç in an Ottoman record of 1448, later as Bedric in 1520, Petreiç in 1574, Petriç in 1728, Petriçe in 1519, 1574 and 1649. In the 17th-century Boyana Screed, it was listed as ПЄТРЪЧЪ. The official name was Petrich until 1934, when it was renamed to the current form. The toponym is derived from the personal name Peter (Bulgarian Petar, Петър).

Kostinbrod (Bulgarian: Костинброд [ˈkɔstinbrot]) is a town in western Bulgaria. It is the seat of Kostinbrod Municipality. It is located 15 km west of the capital city of Sofia. It is located on two important transport corridors: Lom — Sofia — Thessaloniki and Sofia — Belgrade. The international railway line to Western Europe passes through the municipality, with a train stop at Kostinbrod Station. The town is crossed by two rivers, the Blato in the north and the Belitsa in the south, both tributaries of the Iskar River. According to the legends, the town was founded by a certain Kosta, who settled near the crossing (брод, brod) of the Belitsa, thus giving the name to the town (Kostinbrod means "Kosta's ford"). There he opened a pub that became popular among the merchants arriving in the capital, some of them settling and organizing a village, whose centre of the time is now located west of the road between Sofia and Lom. Historically, an early reference to the locality (as КостаЪ БРОДЪ) can be found in Tsar Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria's Oryahov Charter of 1 December 1348. The economy of Kostinbrod was largely based on poultry farming and stock breeding during the Communist period, but a number of factories, including a 120,000 m2 Coca-Cola one, have emerged in democratic times due to the town's favourable position and the liberal zoning policy of the municipality. Kostinbrod is also known for the mineral waters in the area. Thermae were built in the Izvoro country in Roman times.
