The Mixed Blood Theatre Company is a professional multiracial theatre company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded in 1976 by artistic director Jack Reuler, to explore race via the use of theater.

The New Riverside Cafe was a coffeehouse and vegetarian restaurant located near the University of Minnesota in the West-Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 1970 to 1997. It became a center for political and social movements around revolutionary politics.

Mayday Books is a volunteer-run, non-profit collective bookstore in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Established in 1975, its organizational mission is to provide leftist political books and magazines and a space for political organizing for the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area. Mayday Books carries a selection of new and used political books, magazines, zines, T-shirts, postcards, and select CDs and DVDs. Numerous political organizations use the collective's space for their public meetings. The collective regularly hosts author readings, film screenings, political discussions, organizational meetings, and occasional celebrations. Among the many prominent activist groups that meet at Mayday Books, the Iraq Peace Action Coalition (IPAC) meets in the store space, where in 2008 it planned the permitted anti-war march against the Republican National Convention on September 1, 2008.

Palmer's Bar is a dive bar and music venue located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for its strong drinks, the bar serves as a live music venue at night.The bar was founded in 1906 and has had over a dozen owners. A speakeasy during the Prohibition Era, the bar is rumored to have once had a secret tunnel connecting it to 5 Corners Saloon (now Nomad World Pub). In the 1930s, it was named Carl's Bar and a brothel operated upstairs. The bar was named Palmer's in 1950 by then owner Henry Palmer. A Mr. Folta ran the bar from 1959 to 1975. His son Roger Folta co-owned the bar from 1975 to 1996. Keith Berg and Lisa Hammer purchased the bar in 2001.Under Berg and Hammer's ownership, the bar remained open every day of the year. The bar shares a wall with a mosque, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Civic Center. Scenes for the 2005 indie film Factotum were filmed inside Palmer's.During the summer, Palmer's hosts a music festival known as "Palmfest". Musicians "Spider" John Koerner, Charlie Parr, Willie Murphy, and Cornbread Harris have played the venue. Local blues musicians Koerner, Dave "Snaker" Ray, and Tony Glover of Koerner, Ray & Glover also played the venue and would also gather at Palmer's after their shows. Bonnie Raitt frequented the bar while she was recording her debut album.Palmer's has a "wall of shame", listing people who have been 86'd from the bar. There is also a "Wall of Deceased" that features former owner Keith Berg, who died in September 2015.

Dania Hall was a cultural center and performing arts space in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis. Completed in 1886, the building was destroyed by an accidental fire in 2000 at the outset of an extensive renovation project.

West Bank is a light rail station along the METRO Green Line in Minneapolis. It serves the West Bank campus of the University of Minnesota, as well as the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. Construction in the vicinity began in 2010, and the station opened with the rest of the line in 2014. It is the westernmost station only served by Green Line trains. The next station to the west, U.S. Bank Stadium Station, has been served by the Blue Line since it opened in 2004.

Cedar–Riverside is a light rail station on the METRO Blue Line in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The station is located between 15th and 16th Avenues South, near the interchange of Interstate 35W, Interstate 94, and Minnesota State Highway 55. It is a center-platform station, and is one of a few stations where there are no designated bus routes to transfer to or from, though buses run along Cedar Avenue a few blocks away. Service began at this station when the Blue Line opened on June 26, 2004. As light rail vehicles are removed from service following the rush hour peak, the Cedar–Riverside station is the last stop for the trains and all passengers must disembark at that point. The maintenance base for the line is located between this station and the Franklin Avenue stop to the south. The transparent roof of the station has constellations marked on it.

Hard Times Cafe is a collectively owned restaurant in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is known for its punk and hippie ideology, its gritty ambiance, and its large selection of vegan and vegetarian food. It is open 22 hours a day, closing only between the hours of 4 am and 6 am.

The Southern Theater is located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Built in 1910 as a cultural center and legitimate theater for the burgeoning Scandinavian community centered on Cedar Avenue ("Snoose Boulevard"), the Southern has been re-established as a center for contemporary performing arts over the past quarter-century. The Southern Theater is the home of Balls Cabaret, a weekly midnight cabaret entering its twenty-fourth year.

The Triple Rock Social Club was a bar, music venue, and restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, co-owned by Gretchen Funk and Erik Funk of the punk band Dillinger Four.The club is mentioned in the Motion City Soundtrack song "Better Open the Door", as the "T-Rock" in the Doomtree song "Bangarang", and in the Limbeck song "Home Is Where The Van Is." The Bomb the Music Industry! four-part song "King of Minneapolis" is based on a night spent at the club by vocalist/guitarist Jeff Rosenstock. It is featured in the song "Seeing Double At The Triple Rock" by NOFX; the video for the song was shot at the club. The bar first opened in 1998. It sold foreign and independently brewed beers and offered vegetarian/vegan dishes in addition to standard bar fare. The venue portion of the club opened in June 2003, with Lifter Puller reuniting for the first show. The Triple Rock is a common venue for local and up-and-coming bands to play. Nationally known bands have also played at the club. The name of the club is taken from the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. The Triple Rock Baptist Church (whose pastor is James Brown) is the site where the brothers receive their "mission from God". On October 16, 2017, the club announced it would be closing its doors on November 22, 2017. The final show at the Triple Rock occurred on November 21, headlined by Negative Approach and Dillinger Four.

The Curtis L. Carlson School of Management is a business school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The Carlson School offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, as well as an executive education program. The Carlson School also offers dual degrees with the colleges and schools of public affairs, law, medicine, and public health.
