Pat's King of Steaks (also known as Pat's Steaks) is a Philadelphia restaurant specializing in cheesesteaks, and located at the intersection of South 9th Street, Wharton Street and East Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia, directly across the street from rival Geno's Steaks. It was founded in 1930 by brothers Pat and Harry Olivieri, who are credited with the creation of the cheesesteak.

The Mikveh Israel Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery known as the Federal Street Burial Ground and located at 11th and Federal Streets in the Passyunk Square neighborhood of South Philadelphia. It was first called Beth Hahayim (Hebrew: בית החיים). It is one of three cemeteries belonging to Congregation Mikveh Israel, Philadelphia's oldest synagogue.

Fanny Jackson Coppin School, previously Federal Street School and then Andrew Jackson School, is a public K-8 school located in the Passyunk Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the School District of Philadelphia. The school was previously named for United States President Andrew Jackson before changing the name in 2021 to honor former Philadelphia teacher Fanny Jackson Coppin.The historic school building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1924–1925. It is a three-story, brick and limestone in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It features a projecting center two-story bay, projecting building ends with decorative brick panels, compound arched entrance, and a brick parapet. The roof of the school includes a garden that is used by the local community.

Passyunk Square is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia bounded by Broad Street to the west, 6th Street to the east, Tasker Street to the south and Washington Avenue to the north. Passyunk Square is bordered by the Bella Vista, Hawthorne, Central South Philadelphia, Wharton, and Point Breeze neighborhoods. Eliza Butler Kirkbride School is a K–8 school located in the Passyunk Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the School District of Philadelphia. The historic school building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1925–1926. It is a four-story, five-bay, yellow reinforced concrete building faced in brick and limestone in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It features a projecting central entrance with floral and heraldic plaques in the spandrel, decorative panels, and a crenellated parapet. Each register contains three openings with limestone sills and lintels. A limestone dripcourse appears over the basement openings. The projecting end registers feature window bands with ornamental panels between the floors. These panels were a standard feature on some of Catharine's designs and often contained the datestone as one of the decorative panels.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

East Passyunk Crossing is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Its location is considered to be from Tasker Street to Snyder Avenue and Broad Street to 6th Street.The address range of southbound and northbound streets is 1600 to 2099, and of eastbound and westbound streets it is 600 to 1399. The name and boundaries of East Passyunk Crossing originated when the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association (EPX), a Registered Community Organization of the City of Philadelphia, was formed. The neighborhood is bounded by the neighborhoods of Newbold to its west, Passyunk Square to its north, Dickinson Square West and Greenwich to its east, and Lower Moyamensing to its south.

One of the largest Vietnamese neighborhoods in Philadelphia is located in Passyunk Square, a neighborhood in South Philadelphia. The heart of the Vietnamese community is centered on the intersection of Eighth Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia with "one of the largest Vietnamese populations on the east coast." and is a district where "... neon signs lure shoppers into grocery stores, restaurants and karaoke bars set back from the street in low-rise concrete strip malls. The author further states that the Vietnamese are now (as of 2013) the largest ethnic community in the Washington Avenue/Passyunk Square section of the city and that the entire Vietnamese population of Philadelphia is larger than that of New York City.Southwest Philadelphia and Northeast Philadelphia also contain Vietnamese American neighborhoods. Mimicking Little Saigon is Baby Saigon, a small Vietnamese neighborhood located within in Whitman neighborhood of South Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese community has additionally expanded eastward across the Delaware River to Camden and Cherry Hill in New Jersey.
