Hay Creek Township is a township in Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 862 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Hay Creek is located within the township. Hay Creek Township was organized in 1858, and took its name from Hay Creek.

Immanuel Lutheran Church is a historic church in Hay Creek Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States, near the city of Red Wing. The congregation was organized in 1858 by German Lutheran families who had settled in Flower Valley. Their first pastor, William Wier, came to administer the sacrament twice a year through the summer of 1861. The first church building was a three-room building completed around 1862. A number of German Lutherans in the southern part of the township wanted to join the Immanuel congregation, so the congregation established a northern district and a southern district. This arrangement continued for a while until the building in Flower Valley was moved to the current location in Hay Creek in 1868. The land in Hay Creek consisted of two acres donated by a Mr. W. Plote. The congregation grew steadily through the 1870s and 1880s. In 1893, the congregation began discussing whether they should build a new church or repair the existing structure. On February 23, 1897, the members voted to build a new church. Peter Tubesing of Red Wing proposed a floor plan, and the members initially decided to build a brick church with a cost not exceeding $4000. The voting members of the congregation later decided on April 1 to build a wood-frame church, after reviewing the costs of construction. They also decided to build the church with a balcony, an alcove room next to the altar, colored glass in the windows, and with a furnace for heating. The foundation wall was started on April 20, and the cornerstone was laid on May 16. The cornerstone ceremony attracted nearly 600 people from Goodhue, Belvidere, Frontenac, and Red Wing. The church was dedicated on November 7, 1897, with nearly 1000 visitors attending.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 as a symbol of regional German American settlement, Southeast Minnesota's third-largest immigrant group after Swedes and Norwegians.The church is part of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

Hay Creek is an unincorporated community in Hay Creek Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The community is located at the junction of State Highway 58 (MN 58), Hay Creek Trail, and 315th Street. Hay Creek flows through the community. Nearby places include Red Wing, Goodhue, Belvidere Mills, Frontenac, and Lake City. Hay Creek was once a station on the Chicago Great Western Railway between Red Wing and Rochester, Minnesota. The abandoned railroad right-of-way is being developed as the Goodhue Pioneer State Trail.

William Henry Welch, Sr. (June 1, 1805 – January 23, 1863) was an American jurist. Born in Litchfield, Connecticut, Welch graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School. He moved to Minnesota Territory in 1850 and settled in St. Anthony (now Minneapolis). Welch served as a Justice of the Peace. From 1853 to 1858, Welch served as Chief Justice of the Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court as appointed by President Pierce. Welch was reappointed for another term by President Buchanan, but his term ended when Minnesota became a State. He moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1858 and died there.

Dammon Round Barn is a round barn just southeast of Red Wing, Minnesota, United States, adjacent to U.S. Route 61. The barn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1914, with a foundation of Mississippi River limestone, and is 60 feet (18 m) in diameter and 60 feet (18 m) high. It was built during a time of agricultural growth in Goodhue County, when dairy cow herds were averaging 25 cows per farm and farmers were starting to build specialized barns. The round barn design was built around a silo and provided insulation for the silage, as well as making feeding and cleaning easier. Despite their efficiency round barns were difficult to construct, and they were not widely adopted. Later in its history the barn was used for honey production of the beekeeping owners of the farm. In 2000 the farm was purchased by Robin and Elaine Kleffman and the Dammon Barn underwent some significant restoration. A straightening of the walls and replacement of the original pillars for the upper floor support and a leveling and new installation of a floor in the top level of the barn makes this one of the most premiere remaining round barns in Minnesota.The barn is now part of a bed and breakfast and event center. The 8,000-square-foot (740 m2) facility is available as a venue for weddings.
