The Uruguayan ambassador in the City of Brussels is the official representative of the Government in Montevideo to the Government of Belgium.

The Université libre de Bruxelles (English: Free University of Brussels, abbreviated ULB) is a French-speaking research university in Brussels, Belgium. ULB is one of the two institutions, which trace their origins to the Free University of Brussels, founded in 1834 by Belgian lawyer Pierre-Théodore Verhaegen. The split occurred along linguistic lines, forming the French-speaking ULB in 1969, and Dutch-speaking Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 1970. A major research center open to Europe and the world, it has about 24,200 students, 33% of whom come from abroad, and an equally cosmopolitan staff.

The Résidence de la Cambre is the first high-rise building constructed in Brussels (Belgium). It was built in 1938–1939 according to the plans of architect Marcel Peeters in a style inspired by New York Art Deco architecture. The 17-story residential tower, which stands at 20, Boulevard Général Jacques/Generaal Jacqueslaan, near the Place de l’Étoile/Sterrenplein in Ixelles, was listed as a protected monument on 14 July 2005. In April 2007, €740,000 were granted by the government of Brussels-Capital Region to renovate the facade and roof.The Résidence de la Cambre is a short walk from La Cambre Abbey and the eastern shores of the Ixelles Ponds, a part of Brussels particularly rich in Art Deco architecture.

L'École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre (ENSAV), more known as La Cambre, is a renowned visual arts school founded by Henry van de Velde in Brussels in 1926. It was founded as the Institut supérieur des Arts décoratifs (Hoger Instituut voor Decoratieve Kunsten), and became known as "La Cambre" after the Abbey of la Cambre/Ter Kameren in which premises it was established. In 1980, La Cambre was divided into two separate institutions, the École nationale supérieure des Arts visuels (ENSAV), and the Institut supérieur d'Architecture de la Communauté française de Belgique (ISACF). Both institutions belong to the French Community of Belgium. ENSAV is still housed at the abbey while the ISACF stopped existing in 2009, when all architecture schools integrated universities, and the ISACF merged with two other institutes into the Université libre de Bruxelles. Notable alumni include Berthe Dubail, Harold Ancart, Olivier Strebelle and Anthony Vaccarello.

Institut Saint-André is a French speaking Catholic free school ("ecole libre" - a subsidized state school in Belgium), situated in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. Commonly called "Saint-André" by students, it is composed of two campuses. The primary and "maternelle" (preschool) share a site on Chaussée de Boondael, while the secondary school is found on the nearby Avenue de l'Hippodrome. The school follows the general curriculum, which includes French, Mathematics, Dutch, Science, History, Geography, Latin and Gymnastics. From the third year of secondary school, Saint-André offers elective courses, with a choice between Latin, Science, English, Business, and Classical Greek. Together, all elective and general curriculum subjects must make up 29 to 33 hours of tuition a week. The school was founded in 1906 as a boarding school for girls. It is now a mixed school, open to applications from boys and girls.

La Cambre Abbey (French: Abbaye de La Cambre) or Ter Kameren Abbey (Dutch: Abdij Ter Kameren) is a former Cistercian abbey in the City of Brussels (Belgium). It is located in the Maelbeek valley between the Bois de la Cambre/Ter Kamerenbos and the Ixelles Ponds. The abbey church is a Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels and home to a community of Norbertine canons, while other parts of the monastery house the headquarters of the Belgian National Geographic Institute and La Cambre, a prestigious visual arts school. The abbey was founded around 1196. It was suppressed during the French Revolution. Most of today's buildings date from the 18th century; only the church, the refectory and the wing of the capitular hall maintain their medieval character. The simple abbey church houses Albert Bouts' early 16th-century oil painting The Mocking of Christ.

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brussels is the diplomatic mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the European Union. It is located at Avenue Franklin Roosevelt 86, 1050 Brussels. His Excellency Mohamed Al Sahlawi has served as the UAE ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union since November 2021.

The Villa Empain is a former private residence in Brussels, Belgium which currently serves as a cultural centre and exhibition space. Built in 1930–1934 in the Art Deco style by the Swiss-Belgian architect Michel Polak, the villa was commissioned by Baron Louis Empain, son of the industrialist Édouard Empain. It subsequently served as offices and an embassy before falling into disuse. After a restoration from 2009 to 2011, it was opened to the public by the Boghossian Foundation.

Baron Jean Michel P.M.G. de Selys Longchamps DFC (31 May 1912 – 16 August 1943) was a Belgian aristocrat and RAF fighter pilot during World War II. He is chiefly known for his single-handed attack on the Gestapo headquarters in Brussels in German-occupied Belgium.

The Avenue Franklin Roosevelt (French) or Franklin Rooseveltlaan (Dutch) is an avenue in Brussels, Belgium. It is located in the southern part of the City of Brussels, near the border with the municipality of Ixelles, where it runs parallel to the Bois de la Cambre/Ter Kamerenbos. It is named in honour of the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882–1945). The Avenue Franklin Roosevelt is known as one of the most beautiful avenues in Brussels. Many of the houses on the avenue date from the 1920s to the Second World War. It also houses many embassies and residences of ambassadors.

The Square du Bois (French: [skwaʁ dy bwa]) or Bossquare (Dutch), meaning "Wood Square", now also known by its nickname the Square des Milliardaires or Miljardairssquare ("Billionaires' Square"), is a gated community in Brussels, Belgium, next to the Avenue Louise/Louizalaan. It belongs to the owners who live there and who bear the cost of maintenance, development and repair.

Sciensano is a research institute and the national public health institute of Belgium. It is a so-called federal scientific institution that operates under the authority of the federal minister of Public Health and the federal minister of Agriculture of Belgium. Sciensano's core business is scientific research in the fields of public health, animal health and food safety. Sciensano arose in 2018 from the merger of the former Veterinary and Agrochemical Research Centre (in Dutch: Centrum voor Onderzoek in Diergeneeskunde en Agrochemie, in French: Centre d’Étude et de Recherches Vétérinaires et Agrochimiques, often shortened to CODA-CERVA) and the former Scientific Institute of Public Health (in Dutch: Wetenschappelijk Instituut Volksgezondheid, in French: Institut Scientifique de Santé Publique, often shortened to WIV-ISP). Both institutions were merged because of their complementary activities and to be able to provide a comprehensive answer to the health challenges of the future. More particularly, the merger was based on the One Health principle that states that the areas of human health, animal health and the environment are inherently connected with each other. The merger became official on April 1, 2018.
