RAF Medmenham

Danesfield House in Medmenham, near Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England, in the Chiltern Hills is a former country house now used as a hotel and spa. The house stands on a plateau which shelves steeply down to the River Thames to the south.

Bockmer End is a hamlet in the civil parish of Medmenham to the west of Marlow in Buckinghamshire, England. It is in the town of Marlow.

Frog Mill Ait is an island in the River Thames in England between the villages of Medmenham, Buckinghamshire and Hurley, Berkshire. It is situated on the reach above Hurley Lock. The island is named after a mill on the bank here. Frog Mill Ait and the adjacent Black Boy Island presented a problem to navigation because the towpath was on the other side of the island from the main navigation channel. Hence tow lines had to sweep over the islands, often with the result that barges were pulled onto the shore.The name "Poisson Deux" is associated with the area, and this is believed to derive from fish ducts or traps in the river here.

Harleyford Golf Club is a golf club, located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located about 2 miles southwest of Marlow on a country estate near Harleyford Manor which dates back to the 13th century. It was established in 1996. The course was designed by Donald Steel. There are views from Harleyford of the Thames Valley. Its geology provides Harleyford with good drainage, so it rarely closes due to bad weather. Even in the severe storms of 2003 and 2014 it was open for play when all other local golf courses closed for long periods.

Black Boy Island is an uninhabited island in the River Thames in England between the villages of Medmenham, Buckinghamshire and Hurley, Berkshire. It is situated alongside the small hamlet of Frogmill, on the southern side of the stretch of river above Hurley Lock, and is within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead unitary authority. The island is very low-lying, such that it is covered with water whenever the Thames floods. It is now heavily wooded, but up until the 1920s it and the adjacent Frog Mill Ait were without vegetation. This was because the towpath was (and still is) on the southern side of the island whilst the boats being towed along by horses had to keep to the main navigation channel on the northern side of the river. The tow lines had to sweep over the islands, and the angle of tow was such that barges could be pulled aground onto the islands.

Hurley Priory is a former Benedictine priory in the village of Hurley. Founded in 1086, the remains are located on the banks of the River Thames in the English county of Berkshire.

Medmenham () is a village and civil parish in south-west Buckinghamshire, England. It is on the River Thames, about 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) southwest of Marlow and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Henley-on-Thames. The parish also includes Danesfield, a housing estate predominantly for RAF officers, although families of other ranks from the RAF, Royal Navy and British Army also live there.

Harleyford Manor is a country house near Marlow in Buckinghamshire. The house is listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England, and its gardens are also listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.The urn to the south west of the house, the ice house to the north east, and the dairy to the north, and the temple to the north east are all listed Grade II.In addition to the buildings, two statues of Robert Clayton, to the west and to the east of the house, are also listed Grade II.

Hurley Lock is a lock and weir on the River Thames in England, situated in a clump of wooded islands close to the village of Hurley, Berkshire. The lock was first built by the Thames Navigation Commissioners in 1773. There are several weirs between the islands but the main weir is upstream between the topmost island and the Buckinghamshire bank. The weir is popular with kayakers whenever conditions are favourable, and it is very busy at weekends.

Hurley is a village and rural civil parish in Berkshire, England. Its riverside is agricultural, except for Hurley Priory, as are the outskirts of the village. The Olde Bell Inn adjoining the priory is believed to date from 1135.

Rodbed Wood is a 2.2-hectare (5.4-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Medmenham in Buckinghamshire. It is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.The site is wet willow and alder woodland close to the River Thames, fed by a ditch from neighbouring water meadows. The understorey has blackthorn, hawthorn and guelder rose. There is a diverse flora, including the nationally rare summer snowflake. There is a varied bird population and rich invertebrate fauna.The site is private land, but it is crossed by a public footpath from the A4155 road to the river.
