Cecil College

Bay View is an unincorporated community in Cecil County, Maryland, United States. Bay View is located at the intersection of Maryland routes 272 and 274, north of North East. Cecil College and Gilpin's Falls Covered Bridge are both located in Bay View.

The Gilpin's Falls Covered Bridge is a Burr arch through truss wooden covered bridge in Bay View, Cecil County, Maryland, United States, close to the town of North East. The bridge was constructed by local Cecil County bridgewright Joseph George Johnson in the autumn and winter of 1860-61 across North East Creek. The bridge was erected adjacent to and upstream of Samuel Gilpin's mills and dam and crosses the millpond formed by it. This bridge has a span of 100 feet (30 m) and a total length of 119 feet (36 m) with its shelter panel overhangs, is 13.5 feet (4.1 m) wide, and is closed to all vehicular traffic.The structure was restored in 1959 by the State Roads Commission and the Historical Society of Cecil County. In 2010 the bridge was rehabilitated by engineers Wallace, Montgomery & Associates, LLP; contractor Kinsley Construction; and specialist bridgwrighting subcontractors, Barns & Bridges of New England, the Truax Timberwright Woodworks, and New World Restoration. Gilpin's Falls Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church is an historic Episcopal church building located at 315 South Main Street in North East, Cecil County, Maryland. Built in 1742 of red brick in a rectangular shape to replace an earlier wooden church building on the site, it is the second parish church building for North Elk Parish, later known as St. Mary Anne's Parish, which had been established in 1706 by the General Assembly of the Province of Maryland. Originally dedicated to St. Mary, the parish added Anne to its name in thanks for a bequest it received from the estate of Anne, Queen of Great Britain, who died in 1714. Its bell tower was added in 1904. St. Mary Anne's is still an active parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Easton. The Rev. John Schaeffer is the current rector.

The former village of Blue Ball is no more, but Blue Ball Road retains the name.The settlement is located 7 mi (11 km) east of Rising Sun along Maryland Route 273.

It is a two-story, Federal-style brick house built about 1813, five bays wide and two deep, with a new stone wing. The house features a one-story, flat-roofed portico with four Doric columns.During the period of 1867 through the mid-1880s, Mary E. Ireland and her family lived at the Elisha Kirk House.The Elisha Kirk House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

It consists of three distinct portions: a two-story, three-bay, gable-roofed Flemish bond brick part dating to 1746; a three bay wide frame portion of the house dating to the early and late 19th century; and a log pen addition. The house is an example of the Pennsylvania Quaker building tradition in Maryland. The property also has an early-20th century bank barn.The Mercer Brown House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 1987.
