New Durham, North Bergen

The Three Pigeons was a prominent and famous meeting place in Bergen Township, New Jersey, during the revolutionary period, and was used historically as a landmark as well as a popular place for hosting special occasions.

Tonnelle Avenue station is a ground-level station on the Hudson–Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) located at 51st Street in North Bergen, New Jersey. The station opened for service on February 25, 2006. Service from the station travels to West Side Avenue in Jersey City at all times. On weekdays, service is also available to Hoboken Terminal. In conjunction with the station, New Jersey Transit operates a 730-space park-and-ride lot on Tonnelle Avenue (U.S. Route 1 & 9), between 49th and 51st Streets. Currently, the station is the northern terminus for the light rail system, with two tracks and an island platform. The proposed Northern Branch Corridor Project would extend the line from Tonnelle Avenue north into Englewood, in eastern Bergen County. Daily and monthly parking is available. Monthly parking passes for the following month are sold on the 19th of each month.

The Palisades Cemetery is located on the cuesta, or descending ridge of the Palisades in North Bergen, New Jersey. Its main entrance on Bergen Turnpike and Union Turnpike. It is adjacent to the Weehawken Cemetery and is one of several on the western slope of North Hudson County.

The Weehawken Cemetery, like neighboring Hoboken Cemetery, is not located in its namesake town of Weehawken but rather on the western slope of the Hudson Palisades in North Bergen, New Jersey, with its main entrance on Bergen Turnpike. At its east side the cemetery is overlooked by the Bergen Crest Mausoleum and the Garden State Crematory. and nearby Flower Hill Cemetery. In December 2018 owner of the cemetery were ordered to halt work with felling trees when it was established that erosion could cause damage to existing graves on the hillside.

Union City School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in Union City, New Jersey, United States. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of 14 schools, had an enrollment of 13,768 students and 837.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.The city's single public high school, Union City High School, opened September 3, 2009, and was built on the site of the former Roosevelt Stadium. The $178 million school, whose signature feature is an athletic field on its second floor roof, replaced the former Emerson High School and Union Hill High School, which converted to middle schools.

Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors is a third generation meat wholesaler based in North Bergen, New Jersey that specializes in dry-aged steaks and artisanal burger patties but also supplies selected cuts of beef, pork, poultry, veal, lamb and buffalo. The company provides meat for the “Black Label Burger” at Minetta Tavern, as well as other signature custom blends at New York City restaurants such as Shake Shack, Spotted Pig, Union Square Café, Blue Smoke and Market Table.

The Grove Church Cemetery is a nonsectarian cemetery, located on the western slope of the Hudson Palisades, along with several other cemeteries in a string of green open space, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The Grove Church, who owns the cemetery, is one of the oldest religious bodies in the area, and it has had an operating cemetery since 1847. Throughout its history, prominent families have been buried there, as well as American Civil war veterans. There have also been reports of vandalism and misuse of the property since the 19th century, and in 2007 some of the cemetery grounds were occupied by the homeless.

Bergen Crest Mausoleum is a mausoleum in Hudson County, New Jersey.

Garden State Crematory is located at 4101 Kennedy Boulevard in North Bergen, New Jersey. The back of the building overlooks the Weehawken Cemetery and it is adjacent to the Bergen Crest Mausoleum.

Schuetzen Park is a privately owned park in North Bergen, New Jersey, United States, that has existed since 1872 and is located on the ridge of the Hudson Palisades at Kennedy Boulevard and Bergen Turnpike just north of the Marginal Highway. Its southern and western perimeters are shared with the Fritz Reuter Altenheim, a retirement community named for the German author, Fritz Reuter, and Columbia Park, a large shopping center. The German-American Volksfest has taken place there annually since its construction.

The Machpelah Cemetery, also spelled as "Macpelah Cemetery", or "Macphelah Cemetery", is a cemetery in Hudson County, New Jersey.
