Rosehill is a historic home and property at Gambrills, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The property consists of 17 acres (69,000 m2) of partially wooded and cleared land on which are located a dwelling and six outbuildings. The dwelling displays a complex construction evolution originating from a mid-18th-century frame, 1+1⁄2-story double-pile plan house with an unusual short side passage. This is believed to be the first documented example of this form in the Chesapeake Bay region. The six outbuildings include an early-19th-century frame corn house, a documented 1821 frame tobacco barn, a log outbuilding, a late-19th-century stable, and a late-19th- or early-20th-century pumphouse. The Hopkins family owned the property for 173 years, from 1799 until 1972.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Crofton High School is a high school located in the suburban community of Gambrills, Maryland, United States, a suburb of Washington DC and Baltimore located within Anne Arundel County. It serves students from the greater Crofton area, and it is part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools district.The school opened its doors (virtually) on September 8, 2020, to students in grades 9 and 10 only. The school began serving grades 9-11 in September, 2021, and added its first senior class in the fall of 2022 (comprising the school's first graduating class, the Class of 2023).

Linthicum Walks is a historic home and farm complex at Crofton, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. It consists of a 19th-century frame dwelling (part of which may be 18th century), a mid-19th century meathouse, a frame pre-1815 tobacco barn and a family cemetery dating to the mid 19th century. The complex is representative of the vernacular architecture of rural Tidewater Maryland of the late 18th through mid 19th centuries. The tobacco house is especially noteworthy, as one of only three pre-1815 tobacco houses surviving in the county.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The arboretum at Historic Linthicum Walks was accredited as an ArbNet Level 1 Arboretum in August 2016. Highlights are the Cedrus atlantica (Blue Atlas cedar) and Cryptomeria japonica (Japanese cedar), plus specimens including Chinese elm, dogwood, holly, magnolia and maple.

Mt. Tabor Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, is an historic church located at 1421 St. Stephens Church Road, in Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The wood-frame building was constructed in 1893. It is rectangular in plan and features a bell tower projecting from the gable front. The bell tower was added between 1923 and 1929 by Henry and John Queen. Also on the property is the Mt. Tabor Good Samaritan Lodge No. 59.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Mt. Tabor Good Samaritan Lodge #59 is a historic building at Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It was constructed in 1899, and is a small, two-story wood-frame building, with a gable roof. A small one-story gable roof addition was made in 2000. Founded as the United Sons and Daughters of Levi Beneficial Society, No. 1 of Mount Tabor, it later joined the Independent Order of Good Samaritans and Daughters of Samaria, an African-American beneficial and temperance society for both men and women, as Mount Tabor Lodge No. 59. It is associated with the African American beneficial or benevolent society movement, and is one of six surviving African American benevolent society buildings in the state. The structure is located behind the Mt. Tabor Methodist Episcopal Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Crofton is a census-designated place and planned community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, located 9.8 miles (15.8 km) west of the state capital Annapolis, 24 miles (39 km) south of Baltimore, and 24 miles (39 km) east-northeast of Washington, D.C. The community was established in 1964 and as of the 2020 census, it had a population of 29,136.

Anne Arundel County Free School is a historic school building at Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The first Free School of Anne Arundel County was established by an Act of the General Assembly of colonial Maryland in 1723. It was built somewhere between its contractual date of 1724 and 1746 when it was under full operation with John Wilmot as schoolmaster. The existing abandoned building is 49' x 18', and consists of six rooms on two floors. It was built "as near the center of the county as may be, and as may be the most convenient for the boarding of children." The county then included what is now Howard County. It remained in operation until 1912 when the movement toward consolidation forced the closure of many early school buildings. It is the only surviving schoolhouse erected in Maryland in response to the Maryland Free School Act of 1723.It may have served a prominent role in history as Johns Hopkins likely attended the school from 1806 to 1809. Later, when Hopkins's abolitionist parents freed their slaves, he was forced to quit school and work in their tobacco fields. His great value for education later led to his founding of The Johns Hopkins University. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.The school is now a museum owned by the local board of education. It is open for school groups and seasonally on Sunday afternoons. It is taken care of by the Anne Arundel Retired Educators Association. Recently, there have been improvements made to the building and surrounding grounds. One of these has been the construction of a gravel walkway leading to the building from the road. The walkway was built as part of an Eagle Scout project by a local Boy Scout.

Watkins Slave Cemetery is located in Davidsonville, Maryland, in Anne Arundel County, on Maryland 424 (Davidsonville Road), 0.4 miles (0.64 km) south of US 50/301. In 1960, road construction revealed the remains of anonymous slaves. They were reburied at Mt. Tabor Church, 1421 St. Stephens Church Road, in Crownsville, Maryland. There is a historical marker, which says the slaves were associated with the Locust Grove Plantation.

The Abington Farm, or Abbington Manor & Farm, is a historic home and stables at Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story frame, side-passage, double-pile house with additions on both gable ends. The main block dates from about 1840. On the property are several outbuildings, including a frame summer kitchen; a stone and frame ice house; a frame, brick, and stone springhouse/dairy; a frame privy, chicken house, tool shed, and corncrib; a large, elaborate frame stable; and a frame tenant house.The Abbington Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Governor's Bridge is an historic single-lane bridge over the Patuxent River near Bowie, Maryland. The river marks the boundary between Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties. A bridge has been located on this site since the mid-18th century.Although a common bridge type, the current Governor's Bridge is one of only two surviving truss bridges in Prince George's County.
