Crofton, Maryland

Linthicum Walks is a historic home and farm complex at Crofton, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. It consists of a 19th-century frame dwelling (part of which may be 18th century), a mid-19th century meathouse, a frame pre-1815 tobacco barn and a family cemetery dating to the mid 19th century. The complex is representative of the vernacular architecture of rural Tidewater Maryland of the late 18th through mid 19th centuries. The tobacco house is especially noteworthy, as one of only three pre-1815 tobacco houses surviving in the county.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The arboretum at Historic Linthicum Walks was accredited as an ArbNet Level 1 Arboretum in August 2016. Highlights are the Cedrus atlantica (Blue Atlas cedar) and Cryptomeria japonica (Japanese cedar), plus specimens including Chinese elm, dogwood, holly, magnolia and maple.

Crofton High School is a high school located in the suburban community of Gambrills, Maryland, United States, a suburb of Washington DC and Baltimore located within Anne Arundel County. It serves students from the greater Crofton area, and it is part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools district.The school opened its doors (virtually) on September 8, 2020, to students in grades 9 and 10 only. The school began serving grades 9-11 in September, 2021, and added its first senior class in the fall of 2022 (comprising the school's first graduating class, the Class of 2023).

Rosehill is a historic home and property at Gambrills, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The property consists of 17 acres (69,000 m2) of partially wooded and cleared land on which are located a dwelling and six outbuildings. The dwelling displays a complex construction evolution originating from a mid-18th-century frame, 1+1⁄2-story double-pile plan house with an unusual short side passage. This is believed to be the first documented example of this form in the Chesapeake Bay region. The six outbuildings include an early-19th-century frame corn house, a documented 1821 frame tobacco barn, a log outbuilding, a late-19th-century stable, and a late-19th- or early-20th-century pumphouse. The Hopkins family owned the property for 173 years, from 1799 until 1972.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Williams Plains is a historic home located in the White Marsh Recreational Park at Bowie in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The house was built for the Hon. John Johnson (1770-1824), judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, who purchased the property in 1812.It is a 2+1⁄2-story brick house, with a Flemish bond south facade and six-course common bond used for the remaining walls. It is an early- to mid-19th-century brick house which is significant primarily for the Greek Revival–influenced interior decorative detailing which remains almost completely intact and thus is an excellent and somewhat rare record of domestic architecture in Prince George's County in the first half of the 19th century. The dominant design elements which characterize the decorative detailing include Greek Revival influenced trim, mantels, and paneled doors. A much lower 2+1⁄2-story wing, likely dating to 1942, projects from the northern portion of the east side. The bricks of the wing are laid in stretcher bond, and is a veneer-over-frame construction.Williams Plains was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Melford is a historic plantation house located on the grounds of the Maryland Science and Technology Center, near the intersection of U.S. Route 301 and U.S. Route 50, at Bowie, Prince George's County, Maryland. The house is multi-part, gable-roofed, brick and stone dwelling house constructed probably in the mid-late 1840s, with elements of the Greek Revival style.

The Abington Farm, or Abbington Manor & Farm, is a historic home and stables at Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story frame, side-passage, double-pile house with additions on both gable ends. The main block dates from about 1840. On the property are several outbuildings, including a frame summer kitchen; a stone and frame ice house; a frame, brick, and stone springhouse/dairy; a frame privy, chicken house, tool shed, and corncrib; a large, elaborate frame stable; and a frame tenant house.The Abbington Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Watkins Slave Cemetery is located in Davidsonville, Maryland, in Anne Arundel County, on Maryland 424 (Davidsonville Road), 0.4 miles (0.64 km) south of US 50/301. In 1960, road construction revealed the remains of anonymous slaves. They were reburied at Mt. Tabor Church, 1421 St. Stephens Church Road, in Crownsville, Maryland. There is a historical marker, which says the slaves were associated with the Locust Grove Plantation.

Belair Development is an historic site in Prince George's County, Maryland.It consists of 7 planned communities: Meadowbrook, Tulip Grove, Kenilworth, Somerset, Buckingham, Heather Hills and Foxhill built by Levitt & Sons in what is now Bowie, Maryland, constructed between 1957 and 1965.When constructed, Levitt refused to sell homes in the development to blacks while advocating that the United States government take steps to end racial discrimination in housing.The development takes its name from the Belair Mansion.

Woodwardville Historic District is a national historic district at Woodwardville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The district consists of 16 historic structures, most of which are located adjacent to Patuxent Road, which runs through the center of the village of Woodwardville. The district contains good examples of late-19th and early-20th century domestic architecture, including Bungalow, Foursquare, Tudor Revival, and Queen Anne styles. The village's development was directly related to the construction of the Baltimore & Potomac Railroad, initiated in 1867 and completed in 1872.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
