Summit School (Nyack)

First Methodist Episcopal Church of Nyack, also known as Old Stone Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church on North Broadway, south of the junction of North Broadway and Birchwood Avenue in Upper Nyack, Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1812-1813 and is a one-story, three by two bay, sandstone building on a stone foundation. It features a moderately pitched gable roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. It was purchased by the Village of Upper Nyack in 2007 and has since been used as a village meeting place as well as being made available for private events.

Upper Nyack Firehouse, built for the Empire Hook & Ladder Company, No. 1, is a historic fire station located at Upper Nyack in Rockland County, New York. It was completed in July 1887 and is a two-story brick structure in the Queen Anne style. It features a corner bell tower and center gable above the main engine door.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Van Houten's Landing Historic District.

Van Houten's Landing Historic District is a national historic district located at Upper Nyack in Rockland County, New York. It encompasses 50 contributing buildings and two contributing structures in the historic core of Upper Nyack. The district developed after 1798 and includes notable examples of Greek Revival and Italianate style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Upper Nyack Firehouse. Other notable buildings include the Village Hall (c. 1870), John Lydecker House (c. 1814, 1830), C.A. Fellows House (c. 1840), James P. Vorhis House (c. 1884), Gilchrest House (c. 1820, 1890), and Voorhis Store (c. 1884).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Brookside, also known as Lochburn, is a historic home located at Upper Nyack, Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1865, as a 2+1⁄2-story Italian Villa style frame residence. It was enlarged and modified about 1890 and Colonial Revival style design elements were added. The house features a three-story tower, sweeping verandah, and porte cochere. Also on the property is a large carriage house (c. 1890).: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Shadowcliff, also known as the Fellowship of Reconciliation Headquarters, is a historic home located at Upper Nyack, Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1921, and is a large two-story, Classical Revival style masonry dwelling. The 44-room residence features three porticoes, Palladian windows, and has a clay tile roof. It has housed the headquarters of the Fellowship of Reconciliation since 1957.: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Upper Nyack is a village incorporated in 1872 in the town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of the village of Nyack, east of Valley Cottage, south of Rockland Lake State Park, and west of the Hudson River. Edward Hopper Birthplace and Boyhood Home, also known as the Edward Hopper House Art Center, is an art center and historic home located at 82 North Broadway, 3 1/2 blocks north of Main Street, Nyack in Rockland County, New York. It is a 2-story, side hall, mid-19th-century Greek Revival–style dwelling with a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne–style addition. It was the home of noted artist Edward Hopper (1882–1967) from the time of his birth until he moved to Manhattan in 1910. He held title to the house until his death.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Nyack ( (listen)) is a village located primarily in the town of Orangetown in Rockland County, New York, United States. Incorporated in 1872, it retains a very small western section in Clarkstown. It is a suburb of New York City lying approximately 15 miles (24 km) north of the Manhattan boundary near the west bank of the Hudson River, situated north of South Nyack, east of Central Nyack, south of Upper Nyack, and southeast of Valley Cottage.Nyack had a population of 6,765 as of the 2010 census.

Tappan Zee Playhouse, built in 1911 as the Broadway Theater, was a historic theatre located at Nyack in Rockland County, New York. It consisted of an early 20th-century lobby and theatre structure in front and stage house in rear. The stage house was a large, converted 19th century stable. It was demolished in April 2004.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Established in 1879, The Nyack Library serves the residents of Nyack, Upper Nyack, South Nyack, Grand View, and Valley Cottage. In 1890, the library was incorporated and on June 5, 1894, it was entered under the New York State Board of Regents, by which means it received state aid.

Nyack High School is a secondary school serving parts of the Town of Orangetown and Town of Clarkstown, New York, United States. The original Nyack High School building is now part of BOCES. Since 1990, Nyack High School has been located less than a mile north of the old facility, at the corner of Christian Herald Road and Highland Avenue-(U.S. Route 9W). Nyack High School is the sole high school in the Nyack Union Free School District in New York. Students come to the high school from Nyack Middle School, which gathers students from Upper Nyack, Liberty, Hilltop (now closed) and Valley Cottage elementary schools. The high school is known for its academic performance with 94 percent of seniors taking the SAT in 2004, its football team, its theatrical productions and its music program.In 1972, one of its school buses were involved in an accident getting struck by a Penn Central freight train, which killed five students and injured 46.
