Lynnfield is a suburban community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Lynnfield is located northwest of the intersection of Delaware Route 3 and Baynard Boulevard, northeast of Wilmington. Lynnfield consists of 167 houses. Housing at the subdivision was constructed in 1952 by Franklin Builders and was the first community in the area whose homes were all air-conditioned. There was a single transit line that connected Lynnfield to Wilmington. The Lynnfield Civic Association was formed to deal with local issues, and it published the bimonthly bulletin "The Lynnfielder."In 1970, approximately 300 cars had their tires deflated in Lynnfield in an apparent Halloween prank. During the 1970s, York Air Conditioning advertised the longevity of their products by pointing to the fact that the machines in Lynnfield were still working 20 years later.Flooding along Shellpot Creek and its tributaries has been a concern to residents, as erosion is caused by upstream development. There was a mosquito control program funded by donations from residents. A drainage ditch that emptied into Stoney Run was identified as a safety issue for children. As a result, Steven and Ann Zetlin built a fence, which upset some members of the Civic Association because it conflicted with a deed restriction.The community is served by the Brandywine School District.

Newark Union Burial Ground

Newark Union Burial Ground is a cemetery in Brandywine Hundred, Delaware near Carrcroft. Established in 1687, the cemetery is four acres in size and contains approximately 950 graves, including seven men who fought in the American Revolution and members of some the earliest settlers of the Brandywine Hundred. The cemetery is located less than a mile from the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route through Delaware. The vacant Newark Union Church sits adjacent to the cemetery. It started as a Quaker meetinghouse but became a Methodist Episcopal church in 1845. Both the church and cemetery are listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

Forwood Preserve

Forwood Preserve is a nature preserve in northern Delaware near Lynnfield, Delaware. It includes old growth Forrest and has a branch of Stoney Creek (Delaware River tributary in Delaware) in it called Fox Run (Delaware). It is 11 acres and is surrounded by mostly suburban development. It has one connection to Carcroft Crest Park near Stony Run Drive. The Forwoods were a prominent family that settled in Delaware. The preserve property was slated for development until neighbors rallied to save it in 1968.The preserve has lots of mature trees with a mixture of deciduous and evergreen trees. Some tree species include eastern white pine, Norway spruce, American holly, eastern hemlock, pitch pine, eastern red cedar, red maple, white oak, northern red oak, swamp oak, American beech, American sycamore, and river birch.

Bellevue State Park (Delaware)

Bellevue State Park is a 328-acre (133 ha) Delaware state park in the suburbs of Wilmington in New Castle County, Delaware in the United States. The park is named for Bellevue Hall, the former mansion of William du Pont Jr. Many of the facilities at the park were built by du Pont. Bellevue State Park overlooks the Delaware River and is open for year-round recreation, daily, from 8 a.m. until sunset. The Mount Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church and Parsonage is located in Bellevue State Park; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Cauffiel House is a historic home in the park near Stoney Creek.

WMPH

WMPH (91.7 FM, "Super 91.7") is Delaware's first high school radio station, located in Wilmington. The Brandywine School District Board of Education owns the license granted by the FCC. The call letters WMPH stand for Mount Pleasant High and offered several program formats including Top 40, progressive rock, dance and now classic and alternative music. WMPH signed off the air on June 11, 2010 but has since been totally renovated and came back on-air at full power on June 3, 2011 in a classic/alternative rock, jazz and community based format. In 2014, WMPH partnered with Delaware First Media, which owns and operates the NPR affiliate WDDE in Dover, to create Delaware Public Media. WMPH carries NPR programming during morning and afternoon drive times.
