Hanbys Corner is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. It is located at the intersection of Delaware Route 3 (Marsh Road) and Delaware Route 92 (Naamans Road), in Brandywine Hundred. The area is named for Richard G. Hanby, who first purchased the 125-acre (0.51 km2) parcel from the descendants of William Penn in 1753. His descendants included several notable figures in the local political scene including Samuel Winfield Hanby (1817-1892) who was elected as a State Representative in 1874, Jacob Klose Hanby (1839-1932) who was Samuel's son and was elected State Representative in 1904, Robert Johnson Hanby (1834-1898), who served in the 124th PA infantry during the Civil War and was elected State Senator in 1896, and Florence Wood Hanby (1870-1963), who was Robert's daughter-in-law and was the first woman elected to the Delaware House of Representatives in 1924. In addition Wayne Hanby and James Hanby have both served as Justices of the Peace for New Castle County. The last Hanby to occupy the property, Albert T. Hanby (1881-1947), another son of Samuel, attended West Chester State College before getting his law degree from Penn Law School. Albert became a Philadelphia lawyer and left his farm at Hanby's Corner to be used for the good of "all the children in Delaware". He and his wife created a foundation in 1945 to protect the property from further development. Today the YMCA operates their Hanby Camp there, and the trust provide scholarships for kids who might not otherwise be able to attend. In 2007 that support was over $70,000.

Ardens Historic District is a national historic district which encompasses the three villages of Arden, Ardentown and Ardencroft, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 563 contributing buildings, 21 contributing sites, 15 contributing structures, and 6 contributing objects. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF) is an international non-profit charitable organization that provides distance learning courses to master's and PhD students. IOUF offers dual degree programs in association with Universidad Azteca and its partner the Universidad Central de Nicaragua (UCN). Upon successful completion of the course, students are awarded with the Doctor of Philosophy, PhD degree in consortium with UAzteca and UCN.The faculty and staff of IOUF contribute their time on a volunteer basis. To promote the higher education in developing countries, a limited number of scholarships are provided. The scholarship program was begun by the founders of the Intercultural Open University Foundation, Jan R. Hakemulder and Fay A.C. DeJonge. Jan Hakemulder was an academician who worked on the development programs designed to help the world's poor as an educational consultant for UNICEF. He and his wife, Fay A.C. DeJonge wrote about many subjects such as journalism, the media and ethics, alternative education, distance education and peace and non-violence studies.The Intercultural Open University Foundation is registered as a non-profit foundation in the United States and maintains offices in Arden, Delaware and Granada, Spain. Although it originally obtained registration as a foundation in the Netherlands, it no longer maintains offices in that country, having transferred its European headquarters to Spain in August, 2011 and it is no longer registered as a Dutch juridical person. The use of Information and communications technology in IOUF has been assessed and validated by the European Commission's HEXTLEARN Peer Review and Study. IOUF is a member of international educational organizations such as European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN), European Foundation for Quality in e-Learning (EFQUEL).As a charitable foundation, IOUF is an independent legal entity with a stated mission of serving the public interest through higher education and research. Its status as a not-for-profit organization confers favorable tax status on activities undertaken in pursuit of Foundation goals.

The village of Arden, is an art colony in New Castle County, Delaware, United States, founded in 1900 as a radical Georgist single-tax community by sculptor Frank Stephens and architect Will Price. The village occupies approximately 160 acres, with half kept as open land. According to the 2010 census, the population of the village is 439. In 1973, the entire village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Two neighboring villages of similar size were founded on Georgist principles, Ardentown, in 1922, and Ardencroft, in 1950. In 2003, they were also listed on the NRHP as the Ardens Historic District. Many Ardenites, as the villagers of Arden are called, consider themselves to be "close-knit, nature-loving, liberal, tolerant, free-spirited, artistic, intellectual, even ex-hippie".

Abner Cloud House, also known as Sawmill Farm, Mansion Farm, and the John S. Petitdemange House, is a historic home located near Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1822, and consists of a two-story, side-gable, double-pile main section, a two-story, gable-roof, original kitchen wing; and a one-story, 20th century modern kitchen wing. It is constructed of stone and is in a vernacular Federal style. Also on the property is a 1+1⁄2-story gable-roof, frame and stone outbuilding.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Ardentown is a village in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. According to the 2010 Census, the population of the village is 264.Ardentown was founded by Donald Stephens in 1922 as an outgrowth of Arden with a conceptual lifestyle based on Henry George's Single tax movement and William Morris’s Arts and Crafts principles. "Don" Stephens is the son of Arden's founder Frank Stephens.

Ivyside Farm is a historic home and farm located at Claymont, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in three sections with the earliest dated to about 1795. The earliest section is a 2+1⁄2-story, two bay, single pile structure built of Brandywine granite. The second section was constructed in 1853, and is a two-story, three-bay, side-hall, double pile structure of Brandywine granite. It is in the Greek Revival style. In 1907, a two-story, gabled, shingle-sided section was added to the 1795 original structure and a two-story frame addition was built on the second section. Also on the property are a contributing large frame barn, wagon or carriage house, a corncrib and a chicken house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Joshua Pyle House and Wagon Barn, also known as the Warren P. Missimer House, is a historic home located near Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The house was built about 1840, and a stone, two-story, three bay, center hall, double pile plan with its original basement kitchen intact. It features a wraparound porch added about 1900 and a gable roof with dormers. The wagon barn is a bi-level, stone building with the wagon entrance at ground level.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Ardencroft is a village in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population of the village is 231.The village was founded in 1950 as an outgrowth of Arden and Ardentown with a conceptual lifestyle based on Henry George's single tax movement and William Morris's arts and crafts principles. The last of seventeen land trusts founded between 1894 and 1950, Ardencroft's tax structure is based on the single tax economic philosophy of Henry George. As a result, a person's house is not taxed, only the land it sits on, which is owned by a charitable trust and managed by three directors. Half the land is woods and open space. Footpaths criss-cross the village. At its founding in 1950, Ardencroft formally encouraged minorities to settle there, seeking families that wanted to live in an integrated setting. The nearby, former Arden School (now the Buzz Ware Village Center) also allowed integration around this time, prior to many of the changes enacted by the Civil Rights Movement. Civil rights and suffragist activist, prolific writer, pilot, librarian, lecturer, and educator Pauline A. Young (1900 to 1991) moved into Ardencroft around this time. The outspoken Young was famous for having joined the NAACP in 1912 at the age of 12, lectured and worked conferences with W. E. B. Du Bois in the 1930s, and in 1965 marched with Martin Luther King Jr. in Alabama.

St. Edmond's Academy is an independent Catholic primary school for boys founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in Wilmington, Delaware, United States in 1959. The school's patron saint is Saint André of Montreal.

Chester-Bethel Methodist Church is a Methodist church built in 1873 in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The congregation, which dates to 1780 is the oldest Methodist congregation which has continuously gathered in the state of Delaware.

Wilmington Montessori School is a Montessori school located in New Castle County, Delaware, United States, serving ages 12 months through eighth grade. Its campus is partially in Ardencroft and partially in an unincorporated area. It is named after, but is not located in, Wilmington. It is the state's oldest and largest independent Montessori school. Its facility has more than 30 classrooms, a library/learning commons, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor performance stages, music and arts rooms, three age-appropriate makerspaces, outdoor playing fields, and wooded walking paths. The curriculum is rooted in the principles of the Montessori Method.
