The Clerkenwell Workhouse stood on Coppice Row, Farringdon Road, in London. The original workhouse was built in 1727 but that building was replaced by one twice as large in 1790. It was described by The Lancet in 1865 as one of the two worst in London, and "fit for nothing but to be destroyed" which it was in 1883.

Artangel is a London-based arts organisation founded in 1985 by Roger Took. Directed since 1991 by James Lingwood and Michael Morris, it has commissioned and produced a string of notable site-specific works, plus several projects for TV, film, radio and the web. Notable past works include the Turner Prize-winning House by Rachel Whiteread (1993), Break Down by Michael Landy (2001) and Seizure by Roger Hiorns (2008–2010), also nominated for the Turner Prize in 2009.A 2002 article in The Daily Telegraph described the organisation as creating "art that operates by ambush, rather than asking you to pay up before you see it", while a 2007 profile in The Observer noted that "Artangel has worked with exceptional artists to produce some of the most resonant works of our time, in some very unusual places". These have included a condemned council flat (Seizure, 2008–2010), a former postal sorting office (Küba, 2005), a vacated general plumbing store (An Area of Outstanding Unnatural Beauty, 2002) and the former Oxford Street branch of the C&A department store (Break Down, 2001).

Drama Centre London (often abbreviated as Drama Centre) is a British drama school in King's Cross, London, where it moved in 2011 after a major reshaping of the University of the Arts London. The school is part of Central Saint Martins, a constituent college of the university. In March 2020 UAL announced that the Drama Centre would close when the current students had completed their courses. It is a member of the Federation of Drama Schools.The school offers BA (Hons) and MA acting courses.

St Peter's Italian Church is a Roman Catholic basilica-style church located in Saffron Hill on Clerkenwell Road, Holborn, London. It lies just within the boundaries of the London Borough of Camden, but is particularly associated with the Italian community of Clerkenwell (whose hub lies within the London Borough of Islington).

Rosebery Avenue is a major thoroughfare in the boroughs of Camden and Islington, Central London. It starts southwest from the intersection with Theobald's Road, Holborn, and ends northeast at St John Street, Clerkenwell. Finsbury Town Hall and Charles Rowan House are among properties located on this road.

The Finsbury Health Centre is in Clerkenwell, on the edge of the City of London. It was built in 1935–38, designed by Berthold Lubetkin and the Tecton architecture practice. The design shares some of its materials and detailing with similar Lubetkin projects of the period, including the Priory Green, Spa Green and Hallfield Estates. Partly restored in the mid-1990s, the building is Grade I listed.Services housed at the centre include the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering and Clerkenwell Medical Practice.

Hockley-in-the-Hole was an area of Clerkenwell Green in central London where bull-baiting, bear-baiting and similar activities occurred in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Beargarden was located at Hockley-in-the-Hole where the Coach & Horses pub at Back Hill and Ray Street meet today, north of the junction of Clerkenwell Road and Farringdon Road.

Clerkenwell was an authorised underground railway station planned by the Metropolitan Railway but never built. It was to be located on Farringdon Road at Mount Pleasant in Clerkenwell, London.

Article 19 (stylised ARTICLE 19) is an international human rights organisation that works to defend and promote freedom of expression and freedom of information worldwide. It was founded in 1987. The organisation takes its name from Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; the right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers. The name is an example of a trend in organizations' naming themselves after sections of treaties and law, something that Zachary Elkins has called "chapter-verse branding."

Our Most Holy Redeemer is a late 19th-century church in Clerkenwell, London, England, by the architect John Dando Sedding. It is an Anglo-Catholic church in the Diocese of London of the Church of England. It is at the junction of Exmouth Market and Rosebery Avenue in the London Borough of Islington. The church with attached clergy house, campanile, and parish hall is a Grade II*-listed building.

Central School of Ballet is a classical ballet school based in London, with students from countries all over the world. The school was established in 1982 by Ann Stannard and Christopher Gable. It established a touring company, Ballet Central, in 1984. From 2004 Central started to offer degree courses accredited by the University of Kent.Central School of Ballet is an affiliate of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama.
