Ballykelly, County Londonderry

The Droppin Well bombing or Ballykelly bombing occurred on 6 December 1982, when the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) detonated a time bomb at a disco in Ballykelly, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. The disco, known as the Droppin Well, was targeted because it was frequented by British Army soldiers from nearby Shackleton Barracks. The bomb killed 17 people: eleven soldiers and six civilians, while dozens more were wounded. It was the deadliest attack during the INLA's paramilitary campaign and one of the deadliest bombings of The Troubles.

Newman College Ireland was a Catholic liberal arts college in Northern Ireland which was opened in 2014. Named after Cardinal John Henry Newman, the founder of the Catholic University of Ireland which became University College Dublin, the college aimed to create third level institution which embodies the Catholic ethos. The college was supported by disability rights campaigner and former MEP Kathy Sinnott. Dr. Nicholas Healy was the CEO and served as president of Newman College Ireland. He is a president emeritus of Ave Maria University and a former vice president of Franciscan University of Steubenville . Fundraisers and supporters for the establishment of the college were based in the United States. The economist and UCD Professor Ray Kinsella served as a board member for the college, as did the artist Dony MacManus.

The Central Bar bombing was a bomb attack on a pub in the town of Gilford near Portadown in County Down in Northern Ireland on 31 December 1975. The attack was carried out by members of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) using the covername "People's Republican Army" although contemporary reports also said the "Armagh unit" of the "People's Republican Army" (the name under which the INLA operated throughout 1975) had claimed responsibility. Three Protestant civilians were killed in the bombing.

Royal Air Force Ballykelly, or more simply RAF Ballykelly, is a former Royal Air Force station which opened in 1941 in Ballykelly, County Londonderry. It closed in 1971 when the site was handed over to the British Army as Shackleton Barracks. A small part of the base has been used as a refuelling point by army helicopters and small fixed-wing aircraft usually operating out of Joint Helicopter Command Flying Station Aldergrove near the town of Antrim.

Shackleton Barracks is a former British military installation at Ballykelly in Northern Ireland.

The Broharris Canal was a canal situated in County Londonderry, Ireland, which existed briefly in the 1820s. A planned extension to Limavady was never built.

Ballykelly railway station served the villages of Ballykelly and Walworth in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. The Londonderry and Coleraine Railway opened the station on 29 December 1852. It closed on 20 September 1954. Northern Ireland Railways are currently constructing a new passing loop at Ballykelly to help increase service frequency on the Belfast-Derry railway line. There have been calls to reopen the station at Ballykelly, given its proximity to Limavady.

O'Connor's GAC Glack (Irish: CLG Uí Chonchúir, An Glaic) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Glack/Ballykelly area in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of Derry GAA and currently caters for Gaelic football and Camogie. Underage teams up to U-12's play in North Derry league and championships, from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions. Glack have won the Derry Intermediate Football Championship once and the Derry Junior Football Championship three times.

The River Roe (Irish: Abhainn na Ró) is a river located in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It flows north from Glenshane in the Sperrin Mountains to Lough Foyle, via the settlements of Dungiven, Burnfoot, Limavady and Myroe. Limavady Junction railway station served the town of Limavady in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. The Londonderry and Coleraine Railway opened the station as Newton Junction on 1 March 1855. It was renamed Limavady Junction on 1 October 1875. At this time, new station buildings were provided to designs by the architect John Lanyon.It closed on 17 October 1976. Since 2013, the remains of the station have been demolished.

Tamlaght Finlagan Monastery was an early religious settlement in Tamlaght Finlagan, Ballykelly, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.The monastery was founded in 585 AD. The name of the monastery means "The plague monument of St. Findluganus". Findluganus was an associate of St. Columba, who attended the Drumceatt Synod of 574 AD. The abbey became a parish church and is mentioned in some papal paperwork in 1291. However, by 1622 the church was in ruins, which can still be seen today.

Broighter (Irish: Brú Íochtair, meaning 'lower fort') is a townland in west County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies 4.4 miles (7 km) northwest of Limavady and 2.5 miles (4 km) northeast of Ballykelly. Broighter is part of Causeway Coast and Glens district. The townland covers 152 acres (0.62 km2) and in the 1911 census of Ireland it had six occupied houses and 20 inhabitants (9 males and 11 females).
