National Ski Hall of Fame

Ishpeming ( ISH-pə-ming) is a city in Marquette County, Michigan, United States. Located in the Upper Peninsula, the population was 6,140 at the 2020 census, less than it was in the 1950s and 1960s when the iron ore mines employed more workers. A statue of a Native American figure, erected in 1884 in the small town square, is referred to as "Old Ish". Ishpeming Township is located to the northwest of the city but is administratively autonomous. Ishpeming is considered the birthplace of organized skiing in the United States and is the home to the National Ski Hall of Fame. The city was also prominently featured in the 2010 documentary Catfish. The name "Ishpeming" comes from Ojibwa ishpiming 'above, in the air, on high'.

Cleveland Mine was a mining settlement in Marquette County, Michigan located a mile west of Ishpeming. It was established in 1866.

The Mather Inn is a hotel in Ishpeming, Michigan. The inn served as housing for the cast of the classic 1959 movie Anatomy of a Murder, and was the place where Duke Ellington composed the movie's score. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1976 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library, located at 317 Main Street in Ishpeming, Michigan, is the second oldest Carnegie Library in the Upper Peninsula. It was authorized in 1901 and opened in 1904. It was listed as a Michigan State Historic Site on January 18, 1980.The library is a Neoclassical Revival building and was designed by architect John D. Chubb.The library's website is http://uproc.lib.mi.us/ish/ and lists its current hours, programs, and services.The library was one of many real locations in Ishpeming used in the Otto Preminger film Anatomy of a Murder; it stands in for the law library of the court room where much of the film takes place.

Lake Bancroft is a lake located in the city of Ishpeming in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lake has experienced progressive eutrophication resulting in hypoxia, disrupting its natural ecology. The Lake Bancroft Project, appointed by the Ishpeming City Council, aim to reverse the damage caused by eutrophication in a process using a food-grade polymer which binds itself to suspended material then brings it to the bottom of the lake.

The Braastad–Gossard Building, also known as the Gossard Building or Pioneer Square, is a commercial building located at 308 Cleveland Avenue in Ishpeming, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Ishpeming Main Street Historic District is a commercial historic district located in Ishpeming, Michigan, primarily along Main Street between Front and Division Streets, with some contiguous properties on Front and Division Streets. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.

Partridge Creek is a stream in Marquette County, Michigan, in the United States.Partridge Creek was named for the ruffed grouse, commonly called a partridge, seen at the creek by early surveyors.

The Ishpeming Municipal Building is a public building located at 100 East Division Street in Ishpeming, Michigan. It is also known as Ishpeming City Hall. The building was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1980 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

The Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum is a former iron mine, now a heritage museum, located on Euclid Street between Lakeshore Drive and Spruce Street in Ishpeming, Michigan. The museum, operated by "Marquette Range Iron Mining Heritage Theme Park Inc.", celebrates the history of the Marquette Iron Range. The site was designated a state of Michigan historic site in 1973 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

St. John the Evangelist Church is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette and was the first Catholic Church to be built in Ishpeming, Michigan.

The Cleveland Mine Engine House Number 3, also known as the Brownstone Engine House, is a building located at 601 Division Street in Ishpeming, Michigan. It was built to house engines hoisting ore from various Cleveland Mine locales, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
