Easton (formerly, Covel and Covell) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 2,083 at the 2010 census, up from 1,966 at the 2000 census. Easton is located 7.5 miles (12.1 km) south of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 276 feet (84 m).

Washington Union High School is a high school in the rural community of Easton in Fresno County, California. Founded in 1892 (and first accredited in 1965), Washington Union is most likely the second oldest high school in Fresno County (Fresno High School being established three years earlier in 1889). The school district encompasses roughly 90 square miles in the heart of the central San Joaquin Valley. The mascot for Washington Union is the Panthers, with school colors being purple, white, grey, and black. The school has a large and diverse population of students from the Fresno metropolitan area. Washington Union was one of the few schools in Fresno County that operated as a single school district until becoming unified in 2011 with two feeder schools, American Union Elementary and West Fresno Elementary. In addition to West Fresno and American Union, it is fed by four other schools in the area that operate their own elementary and middle schools. The new K-12 district serves over 2,560 students. The school boasts a variety of programs such as: Agriculture, Academic Decathlon, Health-Institute, Music, Construction, Architecture, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), After School Program, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), Link Crew, Migrant, Safe School Ambassadors and a newly created Criminal Justice Academy.

Malaga (Spanish: Málaga) is a census-designated place in Fresno County, California. It is located 6 miles (9.7 km) south-southeast of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 295 feet (90 m). As of the 2010 census, Malaga had a population of 947.

KALZ (96.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Fowler, California, and serving the Fresno metropolitan area. It airs a talk radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are located on Shaw Avenue in North Fresno. Programming is simulcast on sister station KRZR 1400 AM in Visalia. KALZ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 25,000 watts. The transmitter tower is on South Bliss Drive in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Fresno. The station broadcasts using HD Radio technology. The HD-2 digital subchannel formerly carried a classic alternative rock format known as "Alternative Rewind Radio." The HD2 subchannel has since been turned off.

Fowler (formerly, Fowler's Switch) is a city in Fresno County, California, United States. It is located within the San Joaquin Valley. It has a strong agricultural community, with lush grape vineyards and expansive farmland. Fowler is located 11 miles (18 km) southeast of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 308 feet (94 m). The population was 5,570 at the 2010 census.

Calwa (formerly, Calwa City) is an unincorporated census-designated place in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 2,052 at the 2010 census, up from 762 in 2000. Calwa is located 4 miles (6.4 km) south-southeast of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 292 feet (89 m). The name was taken from the acronym for "California Wine Association" (CalWA).

Fresno Pacific University (FPU) is a private Christian university in Fresno, California. It was founded as the Pacific Bible Institute in 1944 by the Pacific District Conference of U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The university awarded its first Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965. The first master's degree program was introduced in 1975.

Fresno Pacific University Biblical Seminary, formerly the Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, is the denominational seminary of the United States Mennonite Brethren Churches. It was founded in 1955 in Fresno, California. The campus is located on the campus of Fresno Pacific University in southeast Fresno. The seminary is a member of the Associated Canadian Theological Schools and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and offers Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees in various ministry and bible-related subjects. It also offers several graduate-level diploma and certificate courses.

The Big Fresno Fair, founded in 1884, is an annual fair held at the Fresno County Fairgrounds. The Big Fresno Fair is managed by the 21st District Agricultural Association, an entity of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Division of Fairs & Expositions. It is the largest annual event in the San Joaquin Valley, attracting around 600,000 people each October during its twelve-day run featuring exhibits, a livestock show, live horse racing, musical entertainment, educational programs and more. The Fair provides a link between urban and rural California, serving as a tool to educate visitors on the region's rich agricultural industry. The mission of The Big Fresno Fair is to "Educate, Celebrate and Have Fun". In addition to being the site of the annual Fair, the Fresno Fairgrounds serves as a year-round rental facility that spans 165 acres (67 ha) held under a 50-year lease with the County of Fresno. The Fresno Fairgrounds hosts more than 250 annual events such as conventions, trade shows and banquets located in Fresno, California. More than 1.5 million people visit the Fresno Fairgrounds annually.

Lone Star (formerly, Lonestar) is an unincorporated community in Fresno County, California. It is located on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad 3.25 miles (5 km) east-northeast of Malaga, at an elevation of 318 feet (97 m).The Lonestar post office operated from 1891 to 1895 and from 1900 to 1910. The place was named by the first settlers after their former home state, Texas (the Lone Star State). Other sources, however, say that the town was named by schoolchildren.The town and local school were established in 1882, and the town hall was built in 1899. Many of the early settlers were of Armenian-American descent. The Lone Star Elementary School is still active; students and a librarian at the school are said to have convinced Francis Ford Coppola to adapt the novel The Outsiders into the 1983 film of the same name.
