The Big Fresno Fair, founded in 1884, is an annual fair held at the Fresno County Fairgrounds. The Big Fresno Fair is managed by the 21st District Agricultural Association, an entity of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Division of Fairs & Expositions. It is the largest annual event in the San Joaquin Valley, attracting around 600,000 people each October during its twelve-day run featuring exhibits, a livestock show, live horse racing, musical entertainment, educational programs and more. The Fair provides a link between urban and rural California, serving as a tool to educate visitors on the region's rich agricultural industry. The mission of The Big Fresno Fair is to "Educate, Celebrate and Have Fun". In addition to being the site of the annual Fair, the Fresno Fairgrounds serves as a year-round rental facility that spans 165 acres (67 ha) held under a 50-year lease with the County of Fresno. The Fresno Fairgrounds hosts more than 250 annual events such as conventions, trade shows and banquets located in Fresno, California. More than 1.5 million people visit the Fresno Fairgrounds annually.

Fresno Pacific University (FPU) is a private Christian university in Fresno, California. It was founded as the Pacific Bible Institute in 1944 by the Pacific District Conference of U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The university awarded its first Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965. The first master's degree program was introduced in 1975.

Fresno Pacific University Biblical Seminary, formerly the Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, is the denominational seminary of the United States Mennonite Brethren Churches. It was founded in 1955 in Fresno, California. The campus is located on the campus of Fresno Pacific University in southeast Fresno. The seminary is a member of the Associated Canadian Theological Schools and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and offers Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees in various ministry and bible-related subjects. It also offers several graduate-level diploma and certificate courses.

KALZ (96.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Fowler, California, and serving the Fresno metropolitan area. It airs a talk radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are located on Shaw Avenue in North Fresno. Programming is simulcast on sister station KRZR 1400 AM in Visalia. KALZ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 25,000 watts. The transmitter tower is on South Bliss Drive in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Fresno. The station broadcasts using HD Radio technology. The HD-2 digital subchannel formerly carried a classic alternative rock format known as "Alternative Rewind Radio." The HD2 subchannel has since been turned off.

Theodore Roosevelt High School (RHS), is located in southeast Fresno, California. It is a high school established within the Fresno Unified School District. The high school mascot is the Rough Rider (in physical form it is a horse) named after the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment Theodore Roosevelt organized and helped command during the Spanish–American War. The high school's colors are green and gold. The school was opened in 1928, and was both a junior and senior high school. It now serves grades 9-12. During the 2011–2012 school year 2,184 students attended RHS. The school received publicity in 2014 with the movie documentary Try which focused on Roosevelt's rugby program and the positive effect it has had on the high school students who began playing.

Old Armenian Town in Fresno, California, is a former enclave of Armenian immigrants. Community gathering places include the Armenian Community Center on Ventura Street and the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. There are also restaurants and delis that specialize in Armenian food. As of 2020, there were plans to redevelop the area. The new project, also dubbed "Old Armenian Town" is to contain a courthouse for California's Fifth Appellate District Court of Appeals, a major multi-story commercial office building, and an Armenian Museum.

Holy Trinity Church (Western Armenian: Ֆրեզնոյի Սուրբ Երրորդութիւն եկեղեցի, Freznoyi Surp Yerortutiun yegeghetsi) is an Armenian Apostolic church in Fresno, California. Completed in 1914, it is one of the earliest Armenian churches in America and the first to incorporate traditional Armenian architecture.

Selland Arena is a multi-purpose arena built in 1966 that makes up part of a four-venue complex of the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center in Fresno, California. It is named after former Fresno mayor Arthur L. Selland and has had over 10 million people walk through its doors in its over 50-year history. The arena originally had a 6,582 seating capacity, but a US$10 million expansion project in 1981 increased the seating to its current capacity of 10,132. Before the 1997-1998 Fresno State basketball season, capacity was increased to 10,220. The Selland Arena underwent an additional $15 million renovation in November 2006, that included the installation of new seats, a new video replay scoreboard, message boards and a new ice-cooling system for hockey games.Currently, the arena is operated by ASM Global under contract from the City of Fresno.

Ani-Jam was an annual two-day anime convention held during August at the Fresno Convention Center in Fresno, California.

The Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center is a convention center located in Fresno, California. The four-building complex was originally made up of three main venues when completed in 1966, and underwent several expansions with the latest additions in 1981 and 1999.

The Rusitigian Building, at Fulton and Mono Streets in Fresno, California, was built in 1920 in Classical Revival style architecture. Originally built as a bus depot, it was renovated and reopened 2019 for retail and restaurant tenants. It is listed as a historic place by Fresno's Local Register of Historic Resources.

The Fresno Republican Printery Building, at 2130 Kern St. in Fresno, California, was built in 1919. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.It was designed by architects Glass and Butner. Its National Register nomination states:Architecturally, The Fresno Republican Printery Building (1919) is a sophisticated interpretation of the mezzo-mediterranean styles which evolved during California's regional and rather eclectic architectural revival era (1915-1930). Glass and Butner's decidedly refined and personalized transcription of classically defined details, fused with less strict revival forms, produced an elegantly symmetrical commercial facade, which continues to grace the downtown community with its quiet dignity. The rare survival of this building, with its original appearance and function almost entirely intact, has not come about by accident. The historical owners, William Camy and Elaine Camy Barber, have repeatedly avoided selling this remarkable property to insensitive developers, whose interests have generally embraced demolition for expansion of commercial parking ventures. It is, herefore, with a profound sense of responsibility, desirable for The Fresno Republican Printery Building to be recognized as one of the more architecturally eloquent statements in the city center, and as such to be assisted along its way to a careful restoration for a dynamically new, yet historically sensitive use.
