Rosemont Historic District (Martinsburg, West Virginia)

West Martinsburg Historic District is a national historic district located at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses 138 contributing buildings constructed between about 1900 and 1956. It is primarily residential and many of the earlier houses in the district represent the “small house” movement of the 1920s and 1930s. The houses reflect popular architectural styles from the first half of the 20th century including the Bungalow, American Craftsman, American Foursquare, and Colonial Revival styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Boomtown Historic District comprises the western and southern portions of Martinsburg, West Virginia, generally along the alignments of West King Street and Winchester Avenue, following the general path of the town's electric streetcar system. It includes a former industrial section of the town, home to a number of textile mills, as well as the housing that was built for mill workers. Boomtown's central core is along Virginia, West Virginia and Faulkner Avenues, centering on the fountain at Virginia and Faulkner. The area consists of primarily middle-class Victorian-style houses, in contrast to the more modest working-class houses on the opposite side of Winchester Avenue. The greatest building activity took place after 1891, when the Martinsburg Mining and Manufacturing Company developed the area in conjunction with the opening of streetcar service.Industrial buildings include the former homes of the Shenandoah Pants Company, Brooklyn Brass Works and the Interwoven Mills. The Crawford Woolen and Cashmere Mills stand along Stephen Street.The area was designated a historic district in 1980. It includes the separately-listed Abell-Kilbourn House.

Martinsburg Mining, Manufacturing & Improvement Co. Historic District is a national historic district located at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses 289 contributing buildings located within 19 city blocks and built between 1891 and 1952. It includes a residential area developed by the Martinsburg Mining, Manufacturing & Improvement Co. as worker housing. They are one to 2+1⁄2-story, single family, detached, semi-detached, and multi-unit housing built in wood frame, brick or brick veneer, and concrete block. Also located in the district is the Gothic Revival-style St. Luke's United Methodist Church. It includes examples of vernacular interpretations of popular architectural styles including Queen Anne, American Four Square, and Bungalow styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Martinsburg is a city in and the county seat of Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 18,773 at the 2020 census, making Martinsburg the largest city in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and the seventh-largest city in the state. It is a principal city of the Hagerstown–Martinsburg metropolitan area extending into Maryland, which had 293,844 residents in 2020.

The Federal Aviation Administration Records Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia is the former United States Courthouse and Post Office for the city. It is a Richardson Romanesque style building, principally designed by Willoughby J. Edbrooke, of the Office of the Supervising Architect. It was used as a federal courthouse and post office from 1895 to 1961, when both functions moved across the street to a new facility. The building to some extent resembles Henry Hobson Richardson's now-destroyed Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Building.The Federal Aviation Administration occupied the building in 1970, primarily as an emergency relocation center for Washington-based operations, then vacated the building in the 1990s. The blast-resistant construction and communications facilities are still visible in the basement. During the Cold War, the Justice Department and essential operations staff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation planned to use the building's top floors as an emergency relocation center.The building was partly renovated as an arts center. It is part of the Downtown Martinsburg Historic District and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Foxcroft Towne Center at Martinsburg (formerly Martinsburg Mall) was a regional shopping mall in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Completed in 1991, the mall contained more than 50 retailers, including The Bon-Ton (originally Hess's) and Walmart, which was expanded from a discount store to a Supercenter in 1998. Foxcroft Towne Center at Martinsburg was a retail hub for the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The Martinsburg Mall changed its name to Foxcroft Towne Center at Martinsburg effective October 1, 2015. On September 8, 2016 owners announced that the mall would close on November 1, 2016. The mall will be demolished, except for The Bon-Ton (which closed in 2018), JCPenney, and Walmart. JCPenney closed on July 31, 2017. They plan on redeveloping the site for more retail. As of 2019 the former JCPenney is now a Hobby Lobby and the former Hess's/The Bon-Ton is now Grand Home Furnishings. None of the original mall interior remains except for an empty lot where the middle pavilion and food court once stood. Several Businesses have opened in new buildings built onto the former Sears (which closed in 2011) parking lot, which include Firehouse Subs, Panera Bread, and some empty retail spaces. The anchor stores are Walmart, Party City, Hobby Lobby, and Grand Home Furnishings.

Downtown Martinsburg Historic District is a national historic district located at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses 281 contributing buildings. It includes government and industrial buildings, several schools, firehouses, and churches, the two main commercial and professional areas along Queen and King Streets, a major hospital, and surrounding residential areas. The buildings reflect a number of popular 19th-century architectural styles including Gothic Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Boydville is a late Georgian style mansion in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The house is near the center of the associated Boydville Historic District in 15.35 acres (6.21 ha). The house was built in 1812 by Elisha Boyd, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates and an officer of the Fourth Virginia Regiment in the War of 1812. The two story stucco-covered stone house consists of a center wing with nine rooms, a right wing that originally served as the nursery, and a left wing that housed the kitchens. The center-hall main house retains its original woodwork, with hand-carved door frames and mantelpieces imported from England. Interior partitions are brick covered with plaster.Elisha Boyd left the house to his daughter Mary at his death in 1841. Mary was married to Charles J. Faulkner I (1806–1884), was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates who advocated a gradual abolition of slavery and the forcible annexation of Texas from Mexico. Faulkner served as ambassador to France in the James Buchanan administration, 1859–1861. Faulkner was Stonewall Jackson's assistant adjutant-general during the American Civil War, and was temporary president of the West Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1872. Faulkner's son, Charles J. Faulkner II (1847–1929) became a United States senator.During the American Civil War Boydville and two other houses were marked for burning by General David Hunter in retaliation for the burning of Maryland Governor Bradford's house. On an hour's notice Mary Faulkner obtained an exemption from Abraham Lincoln, saving the house.Boydville was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

The United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia (in case citations, N.D. W. Va.) is a federal court in the Fourth Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). The District was established on June 22, 1901.As of October 12, 2021 the United States attorney is William J. Ihlenfeld II.

The Boydville Historic District includes an area of Martinsburg, West Virginia that was developed for the well-to-do of Martinsburg at the turn of the twentieth century. The district is named for Boydville, the mansion at the core of the district. The district runs generally along South Queen Street to the south of the Downtown Martinsburg Historic District and to the east of the Boomtown Historic District. The district is associated with a number of figures from the early history of Martinsburg, including General Elisha Boyd, who owned portions of the area in the 1790s, as well as General Adam Stephen, founder of Martinsburg. The principal building in the area is the Boydville mansion, built about 1812. Other significant buildings include the Public Graded School of 1883, now the headquarters for the Berkeley County Board of Education, the Classical Revival 517 South Queen Street, and the Adam Stephen Monument.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Abell-Kilbourne House in Martinsburg, West Virginia is associated with John N. Abell, a prominent Martinsburg businessman and Charles W. Kilbourn, a Martinsburg mill owner. The former president of the Old National Bank, Abell developed the area known as "Abell's Addition" after his retirement in 1886. At that time Abell lived at 506 West Burke Street.

Martinsburg High School is a public high school located in the upper Shenandoah Valley in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The school is an active member of the WVSSAC. The principal of the school is Trent Sherman.
