Caritas Well

Gammeltorv (Old Market) is the oldest square in Copenhagen, Denmark. With adjoining Nytorv it forms a common space along the Strøget pedestrian zone. While the square dates back to the foundation of the city in the 12th century, most of its buildings were constructed after the Great Fire of 1795 in Neoclassical style. Another dominating feature is the Caritas Well, a Renaissance fountain erected by King Christian IV in 1610. Historically, Gammeltorv has been the focal point of Copenhagen's judicial and political life as well as one of its two principal marketplaces. Several former city halls have been located on the square or in its immediate vicinity. Surprisingly, its name is not a reference to adjoining Nytorv but to the slightly younger Amagertorv, Copenhagen's other major market in early times.

Stelling House (Danish: Stellings Hus) is a building on Gammeltorv in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. Completed in 1937, it was designed as an office building and retail store for the A. Stelling paint company by Arne Jacobsen who took pains to have it blend in with the older buildings which surround it.

Skindergade 44 is a Neoclassical property situated on Skindergade, off Gammeltorv, in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945. On the facade of the building is a black stone plaque underneath a cone-shaped stone bearing the names of six members of the Holger Danske World War II resistance group who were arrested at the site by the Gestapo in 1945 and subsequently executed in Ryvangen.

The Holm House (Danish: Holms Gård) is a listed property located at Gammeltorv 14 in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1926.

Nørregade 4 is an early 19th-century property situated in Nørregade, between Frue Plads and Gammeltorv, in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945.

The Suhr House (Danish: Den Suhrske Gård) is a listed Neoclassical property located at Gammeltorv 22 in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The site has been owned by the Suhr family since 1749. The current buildings was built for Peter Bernt Suhr and are now owned by Den Suhrske Stiftelse, a family trust created by his son Theodor Suhr. It is owned by the Den Suhrske Stiftelse, a foundation created by Theodor Suhr, its owner from 1815 to 1860.

A new, third City Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark, was built at Gammeltorv in 1479. Rebuilt by King Christian IV into the Renaissance style in 1610, it was in use until 1728 when it was destroyed in the first Great Fire of Copenhagen. It was replaced by a new city hall which was built on its foundations the same year.

A new, fourth City Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark, was built between Gammeltorv and Nytorv in 1728 on the foundations of its predecessor which had been destroyed in the first Great Fire of Copenhagen earlier that same year. In 1795 it was itself destroyed in the second Great Fire of Copenhagen and later replaced by the new combined city hall and courthouse at Nytorv which was completed in 1815.

Nørregade 6 is a Neoclassical property situated at the corner of the streets Nørregade and Dyrkøb, next to the Church of Our Lady, in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918. The ground floor of the building was home to a book shop from 1983 until 2015, most recently since 1979 operating under the name Atheneum. Former residents include the jurist and later politician Wilhelm Sponneck, army officer and politician Anton Frederik Tscherningm, publisher Meïr Aron Goldschmidt and Denmark's first female physician Nielsine Nielsen.

The Assessor Bachmann House (Danish: Assessor Bachmanns Gård ) is a historic property located at Gammeltorv 18 in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. It houses the private equity fund Maj Invest.

Nytorv (English: New Square or New Market) is a public square in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. Together with the adjoining Gammeltorv it forms a common space, today part of the Strøget pedestrian zone. The square is dominated by the imposing Neoclassical façade of the Copenhagen Court House, which from 1815-1905 also served as the City Hall.

Vestergade 1 is a Neoclassical property located at the corner of Gammeltorv (No. 20) and the street Vestergade (No. 1) in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. The facade towards Gammeltorv and Vestergade meet in an Obtuse angle with four bays towards the square and five bays towards the street. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1950. Café Gammel Torv, a traditional Danish lunch restaurant, has since 1910 been based in the basement at Gammeltorv 20. The building/restaurant is now colloquially known as The House With The Green Tree after an eponymous 1942 novel by Kalvin Lindemann.
