Xizhi District

Xizhi (Chinese: 汐止) is a railway station in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways.

Wudu (traditional Chinese: 五堵車站; simplified Chinese: 五堵车站; pinyin: Wǔdǔ Chēzhàn) is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration West Coast line located in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan.

The Farglory U-Town (Chinese: 遠雄U-TOWN; pinyin: Yuǎn xióng U-Town) is a skyscraper complex located in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The complex comprises four skyscraper buildings completed in 2015, with a total floor area of 734,609.45 m2 (7,907,270.3 sq ft). The tallest of the four buildings is Towers B and C, which have a height of 166 m (545 ft) and comprise 37 floors above ground, as well as 7 basement levels. Towers A and D have a height of 151.8 m (498 ft) with 37 floors above ground.As of December 2020, they are the tallest buildings in Xizhi District, 10th tallest in New Taipei City and 35th tallest in Taiwan.Floors B1 to 3 of the buildings house the IFG Farglory Square, a large shopping mall. Floor 4 houses the U-Museum and floors 5 to 37 are office buildings.

iFG Farglory Square (Chinese: iFG遠雄廣場) is a shopping center in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan that opened on 23 October 2015. Owned and operated by the Farglory Group, it is the first and largest shopping mall in the district. It occupies levels B1 to 3 of the skyscraper complex Farglory U-Town. With a total floor area of 104,181 m2 (1,121,390 sq ft), the main core stores of the mall include Carrefour Xike store, Nitori, Muji, Timberland as well as various themed restaurants and a food court on level B1.

Xike (Chinese: 汐科) is a railway station in New Taipei, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways. Located near Xizhi's technology park, it experiences heavy traffic during the morning and early evening rush hours.

Baifu (traditional Chinese: 百福車站; simplified Chinese: 百福车站; pinyin: Bǎifú Chēzhàn) is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration West Coast line located in Qidu District, Keelung City, Taiwan.

Fuji Grand Hotel (Chinese: 富士大飯店) is a five-star luxury hotel located in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan. Opened on June 1, 2022, the hotel has 214 rooms and suites and has facilities such as a business center, sauna, fitness room, karaoke, chess room and lounge. The hotel was originally named Fushin Hotel Taipei but was later changed to its current name.

The Xizhi Gongbei Temple (Chinese: 汐止拱北殿; pinyin: Xīzhǐ gǒngběi diàn) is a traditional Taoist temple located on Sanxiu Mountain in Xizhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan. Zhenren Lü Dongbin, known locally as Hianggong (Chinese: 仙公), is the principal Deity worshiped at Xizhi Gongbei Temple. Every year, from late November to late December, the temple is also a popular tourist spot for maple viewing. There are various hiking trails around the Xizhi Gongbei Temple. The cityscape of downtown Xizhi and the mountains in the distance can be viewed after following the stone steps up to the Chuanliu Pavilion.

The Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area (Chinese: 臺北基隆都會區; pinyin: Táiběi-Jīlóng Dūhùiqū) also commonly known as Greater Taipei Area (Chinese: 大臺北地區; pinyin: Dà Táiběi Dìqū) is the largest metropolitan area in Taiwan. It is composed of 3 administrative divisions: Taipei, New Taipei City and Keelung. The region encompasses an area of 2,457.13 square kilometers (948.70 sq mi) and a population of 7,034,084 as of 2019. It is the most populous and the most densely populated metropolitan area in Taiwan, with one-third of Taiwanese people living and working there. In some sources Taoyuan City is occasionally considered as part of the metropolitan area on a broader extent, or as an adjacent metropolitan area of its own. The region is the epicenter of Taiwanese culture, economy, education and government. Designated as a global city, the region exerts a significant impact on commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, both locally and internationally. As a diplomatic center, it is the home to all consulates and embassies in Taiwan. Considered to be a global city and rated as an Alpha - City by GaWC, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area. Railways, highways, airports, and bus lines connect Taipei with all parts of the island. The metropolitan area is served by two airports – Songshan and Taoyuan.

Qidu District or Cidu District (Chinese: 七堵區; Hanyu Pinyin: Qīdǔ Qū; Tongyong Pinyin: Cidǔ Cyu; Wade–Giles: Ch'i1-tu3 Chü1; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Chhit-tó͘-khu) is a district of the city of Keelung, Taiwan. It borders New Taipei to the west.

TransAsia Airways Flight 235 was a domestic flight from Taipei to Kinmen, Taiwan. On 4 February 2015, the aircraft serving the flight, a 10-month-old ATR 72-600, crashed into the Keelung River around 5 km (3.1 mi; 2.7 nmi) from Taipei Songshan Airport, where the aircraft had just departed from. On board were 58 people, 15 of whom survived. Two minutes after takeoff, the pilots reported an engine failure. After climbing to a maximum height of 1,630 ft (500 m), the other engine, still operating normally, was mistakenly shut down. The aircraft lost altitude, banked sharply to the left and clipped a taxi travelling west on the Huandong Viaduct (causing two more injuries), then the viaduct itself, before crashing into the river below. Flight 235 was the second fatal accident involving a TransAsia Airways ATR aircraft within seven months; Flight 222 had crashed on 23 July 2014, killing 48 of the 58 onboard.
