It is home to the yearly Ultralight Pilots Association of Canada's convention typically held in August. The field also houses numerous aircraft and the Ayrborne Aviators club.

Forest Heights Collegiate Institute (FHCI), shortened as Forest Heights or simply Forest, is a high school in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada that was established in 1964. It is run by the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). As of the 2019–2020 school year, Forest Heights has 1,110 students.FHCI serves the youth of the Northwest Kitchener, ON by “receiving its students from A.R. Kaufman Public School, Laurentian Senior Public School, MacGregor Senior Public School, Queensmount Public School and Westheights Public School.” The school draws many of its students from the Forest Heights neighbourhood for which it was named, as well as the adjacent neighbourhood of Forest Hill.

The Waterloo Moraine is a landform and sediment body that was created as a moraine in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, in Ontario, Canada. It covers a large portion of the cities of Waterloo and Kitchener and the township of Wilmot, and some parts of the townships of Wellesley and North Dumfries. About 90% of the water supply of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo is derived from groundwater of the Waterloo Moraine aquifer system.During late 1989 and early 1990, groundwater contamination in Elmira forced the Region to shut down some well fields. As a result, new land use management guidelines and water protection measures have been enacted. The Waterloo Moraine is the largest of fourteen moraines in the Region, spanning approximately 400 square kilometres. It is an interlobate moraine, consisting primarily of sand and gravel. It contains large aquifers, which discharge into the Grand River and its tributaries and maintain a base water flow rate into that system.

St. Mary's General Hospital is a 147-bed adult acute-care facility in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada serving Waterloo Region and surrounding area. St. Mary’s is the second-largest acute care hospital in the St. Joseph’s Health System. It is the site of the Regional Cardiac Care Centre, which opened in 2003. The emergency department was extensively renovated in 2004. St Mary’s hospital’s clinical focuses are on cardiac care, respiratory care, outpatient (day) surgery, general medicine, and 24/7 emergency care. Around 2,000 staff, physicians’ volunteers provide care in these areas of the hospital. Patients who can not be taken care of at St. Mary’s will most likely be transferred to Grand River General Hospital.

The Westmount Golf and Country Club is a private sports and country club located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Its grounds span the municipal boundary with Waterloo. The club features golf, curling and tennis facilities. The club was founded in 1929 by members of the Grand River Golf Club. The club was officially opened in 1931, and its golf course architect was Stanley Thompson. The curling facility was opened in 1963 and a tennis facility in 1977.
