WGC-HSBC Champions

The 2018 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 25–28 October 2018 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the tenth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2018 calendar year. Xander Schauffele beat Tony Finau at the first hole of a sudden-death playoff after making a birdie 4 to Finau's par 5. Defending champion Justin Rose finished third, four strokes behind.

The 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 26–29 October 2017 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the ninth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2017 calendar year. Justin Rose won his first HSBC Champions and second World Golf Championship.

The 2014 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played 6–9 November 2014 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the sixth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2014 calendar year. Bubba Watson won the tournament at the first playoff hole, holing a 20-foot (6 m) putt for a birdie at the 18th hole while Tim Clark took a par 5. Watson and Clark had tied for the lead at 277 after 72 holes. Watson seemed to have ruined his chance of winning by bogeying the 16th hole of the final round and taking a double bogey at the 17th. However he then holed out from a greenside bunker for an eagle at the last hole to take the lead. Clark then holed a 4-foot (1.2 m) putt for a birdie at the last to force a playoff. In the final group, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell, and Hiroshi Iwata all needed a birdie at the last to join the playoff but none of the three made it.

The 2016 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 27–30 October 2016 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the eighth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2016 calendar year. Hideki Matsuyama won by 7 strokes from Daniel Berger and Henrik Stenson. Matsuyama became the first Japanese golfer to win an individual World Golf Championship.

The 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 31 October to 3 November at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the fifth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2013 calendar year. Dustin Johnson broke the tournament scoring record for his first WGC win; he finished three strokes ahead of runner-up Ian Poulter, the defending champion.

Sheshan Golf Club (simplified Chinese: 佘山高尔夫俱乐部; traditional Chinese: 佘山高爾夫俱樂部; pinyin: Shéshān gāo'ěrfū jùlèbù) is the first premier private golf club in Shanghai, China. Founded in 2004, the 18 hole golf course plays to a par of 72 and is designed by Nelson and Haworth Design, and spans over 7,266 yards (6,531 meters). Every year, the club plays host to the WGC-HSBC Champions, and is currently the only club to host the Championship. Sheshan Golf Club was awarded the Best Golf Course in China by Golf Digest in 2013 and currently tops of the list of Top Clubs in China by Golf Magazine.

The 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 5–8 November 2015 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the seventh WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in 2015. Russell Knox won by 2 strokes from Kevin Kisner. Danny Willett had a last round 62 to finish joint third with Ross Fisher, a further stroke behind. Knox was playing in his first WGC event and became the first Scot to win a World Golf Championship. Knox had only earned entry as third alternate.

The 2019 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 31 October – 3 November 2019 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the eleventh WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2019 calendar year. Rory McIlroy beat defending champion Xander Schauffele at the first hole of a sudden-death playoff after making a birdie 4 to Schauffele's par 5. It is his first WGC-HSBC Champions victory, and third World Golf Championship win overall, having already won the WGC Match Play and WGC Invitational.

The 2009 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament that was contested from 5–8 November 2009 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the first WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in 2009. Phil Mickelson won the tournament, and claimed his second World Golf Championships title of the year and for his career. He won over Ernie Els by one stroke, and Mickelson shot a 17-under-par 271.

The 2010 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament contested from 4–7 November 2010 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the second WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in 2010. It was won by Francesco Molinari of Italy who completed a wire-to-wire one stroke victory over Lee Westwood to win his first WGC event.

The 2011 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 3–6 November 2011 at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the third WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in 2011. Former PGA Champion Martin Kaymer surged through the final day field to claim his first WGC win. Kaymer's 268 (−20) winning total was the lowest since the tournament became a World Golf Championship, and matched the lowest in the history of the HSBC Champions, set by David Howell in 2005, before WGC status was awarded.

Sheshan (Chinese: 佘山; pinyin: Shéshān) is the name of an elevated station on Shanghai Metro Line 9. It is located near Sheshan Hill. Sheshan Station serves as a rush hour terminus of some trains on Line 9.
