Big Lake (Alberta)

Spruce Grove-Sturgeon-St. Albert was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first-past-the-post method of voting from 1993 to 2012.

Springwater School was built in 1922 and is located in Starland County, 10 miles north of the Michichi turn off on Highway 9 in Alberta, Canada. The School was part of the Drumheller School Division No. 30. Even though it is no longer in use, it has been well maintained by the Springwater Homestead Foundation.

Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park is a provincial park and part of a designated Important Bird Area in Alberta, Canada, located immediately west from Edmonton and St. Albert. It was named after Lois Hole, former Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. The park is situated on the shores of Big Lake, on the lower course of the Sturgeon River, at an elevation of 660 m (2,170 ft). It is maintained by Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation and was established on April 19, 2005, on lands designated in 1999 as Big Lake Natural Area (part of the Special Places program). It is the most recent provincial park to be established in the province, and Alberta's 69th in total.

Kinglet Gardens is a developing neighborhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was named for golden-crowned kinglets and ruby-crowned kinglets that are native to nearby Big Lake.Kinglet Gardens is located within the Big Lake area and is identified as Neighbourhood 4 within the Big Lake Area Structure Plan (ASP). It was officially named Kinglet Gardens on May 27, 2014.It is bounded on the west by 231 Street NW, north by the Hawks Ridge neighbourhood, east by 215 Street NW (Winterburn Road), and south by Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16).

Trumpeter is a neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that was established in 2008 through the adoption of the Big Lake Neighbourhood One Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP).It is located within the Big Lake area and was originally considered Neighbourhood 1 within the Big Lake Area Structure Plan (ASP). It was officially named Trumpeter on August 19, 2009.Trumpeter is bounded on the west and north by 215 Street or Winterburn Road and to the east of 199 Street; and a ravine to the south. Big Lake is located a short distance to the northwest of the neighbourhood.

Pintail Landing is a future neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was named for northern pintail ducks that are native to nearby Big Lake.Pintail Landing is located within the Big Lake area and is identified as Neighbourhood 5 within the Big Lake Area Structure Plan (ASP). It was officially named Pintail Landing on May 27, 2014.It is bounded on the west by 215 Street NW (Winterburn Road), north by the Trumpeter neighbourhood, on the east by Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216), and on the south by Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16).

Acheson is a locality and an industrial area in Alberta, Canada, within Parkland County.Acheson is located on the Canadian National (CN) main line and Highway 60 (Devonian Way) between Highway 16A (Parkland Highway) and Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway). It is 3.2 km (2.0 mi) west of the City of Edmonton, 5.7 km (3.5 mi) east of the City of Spruce Grove, and 20 km (12 mi) north of the Town of Devon. The locality is named after A. Acheson Tisdal, a railway official. Acheson was founded as a repair facility for CN, with industrial development following in the 1970s. It is recognized as a major employment area by the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board.

Bellerose Composite High School is a high school located in northwest St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. It is a member of St. Albert Public Schools and was the second Protestant high school in St. Albert. Bellerose school opened in 1988, alleviating strain from Paul Kane High School, which at the time was overpopulated. Bellerose school was named after the Bellerose family, who came to the region in 1849 and built St. Albert's first school, which now resides in Fort Edmonton Park.

St. Albert Grain Elevator Park is an open-air museum which features two historic grain elevators and a reconstructed railway station. The two elevators are a 1906 Brackman-Ker Milling Company Elevator and a 1929 Alberta Wheat Pool Elevator, both which were designated as Provincial Historic Resources in January 2007. The park also features the St. Albert Railway Station and Visitor Centre, a replica of the former 1909 St. Albert Canadian Northern Railway railway station, built in 2005. The museum is operated by the Arts & Heritage Foundation of St. Albert. Guided tours of the Grain Elevators and Railway Station are available from May to September.

Edmonton Meadowlark was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1971 to 2019.The electoral district located on the western edge of Edmonton was created in the 1971 boundary redistribution from the old electoral districts of Edmonton Jasper Place and Edmonton West. The district has switched support between Progressive Conservative and Liberal candidates with regular frequency since it was created, a trend broken by the election of the New Democrat MLA Jon Carson in the 2015 general election.

William D. Cuts Junior High School is a public middle school located in St. Albert, Alberta. Constructed in 1977, the single-story brick structure has over 400 students. It is also home to a vibrant Rec Academy as well as a Hockey Academy.

Osborne Acres is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Parkland County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the west side of Range Road 264, 1.0 km (0.62 mi) south of Highway 16.
