The Eskom Centre is a skyscraper in the Central Business District of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was built in 1955 to a height of 61 metres. The building was the headquarters of Eskom from 1958 until the company relocated to Sandton in the mid-1980s. The building was the tallest building in Johannesburg when it was finished in 1958. The building was so high compared to other buildings in Johannesburg that it was the only one that could be seen from the patch of veld that is now called Kensington B.

Logistics House is a skyscraper in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa. It was built in 1974 to a height of 95 metres (312 ft). It has 25 floors. The building is the former headquarters of South African Airways.

The Schlesinger Building, also known as Wesbank Centre or Sanlam Centre, is a skyscraper in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa. It was built in 1965 to a height of 110 metres (360 ft). It has 21 floors. The building is named for John Schlesinger, a Johannesburg businessman who was also one of the first major art collectors in the city.Doreen E. Greig, who was the first female president-in-chief of the South African Institute of Architects, described the building in her book as 'an immense building' with a 'sombre and monumental' aspect, which derived from the reflection of grey-green glass sheathing. Its facade are swollen and its vertical aluminium mullions are balanced by the horizontal glass spandrels, which also less obscure than the fenestration.

Old Wanderers was a cricket ground in Johannesburg, South Africa. The ground hosted 22 Test matches from 1895 to 1939, before being rebuilt as Johannesburg's Park Station in 1946. It has since been replaced by the New Wanderers Stadium.

Johannesburg Park Station is the central railway station in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa, and the largest railway station in Africa. It is located between the Central Business District and Braamfontein, in the block bordered by Rissik, Wolmarans, Wanderers, and Noord Streets. Park Station lies on the main Witwatersrand railway line that runs East-West from Krugersdorp to Germiston. The first four stations to the east are Doornfontein, Ellis Park, Jeppe and George Goch Stations. Park Station is the centre of the Witwatersrand Metrorail network, with daily commuter rail services running west to Carletonville, Randfontein and Soweto; east to Springs, Nigel and Daveyton; north to Pretoria and south to Vereeniging. Park Station is also the terminus of Shosholoza Meyl long-distance services to Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein via Kimberley, Komatipoort via Nelspruit and Musina via Polokwane.The southern terminus of the Gautrain rapid-rail service is located underground, in a separate station adjacent to the existing main-line station.

Corruption Watch is a South African anti-corruption non-profit organisation that sets out to monitor and expose acts of corruption that involve public resources and donated charitable resources in South Africa. The various focus areas in which the organisation monitors and exposes corruption include corruption in the education sector, police corruption, leadership appointments (mainly in institutions that support democracy), corruption in the mining applications processes and its effects of communities, corruption in land ownership and tenure, and public procurement. Whistle-blowers are an essential source for the organisation as their whole operational mode is built upon reports received from whistle-blowers. Braamfontein (English: blackberry spring, or more prosaicly blackberry springs; also known as Braam) is a central suburb of Johannesburg, in South Africa, seat of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and some of South Africa's major corporations such as Liberty Holdings Limited, JD Group (part of Steinhoff Africa), Sappi, Bidvest (formerly Rennies) Bank and Hollard. Situated due north of the city centre, Braamfontein is the fourth-largest office node in the city of Johannesburg containing many multi-storied buildings representing various architectural styles including Art Deco and Brutalist. Numerous office buildings have and are in the process of being converted to residential apartments. The offices of the Johannesburg City Council and the University of the Witwatersrand are situated in Braamfontein. The Nelson Mandela Bridge is a landmark that connects Braamfontein to the city centre, traversing South Africa's most extensive passenger train marshalling yard. Jan Smuts Avenue and Empire Road are two major road thoroughfares that run through the suburb.

Fire Walker is a public art sculpture in South Africa, Johannesburg in the inner city. The piece is located on Sauer and Simmonds Street, off of the Queen Elizabeth Bridge. The sculpture represents a woman carrying a brazier on her head in commemoration of the activity which took place in the area in recent years, when ladies would prepare and sell their fires to others preparing food in the surrounding areas. Designed by William Kentridge and Gerhard Marx, the 10-metre-tall (33 ft) sculpture was constructed of fragmented steel pieces to create the feeling of the figure disintegrating or becoming reassembled, depending on the angle from which it is viewed, hinting at the fragility of spaces and the people who pass through them. The piece has been called "Johannesburg’s own Statue of Liberty". Fire Walker is one of many pieces found amongst Public Art in Johannesburg.

The Alexander Theatre (also known as The Alex) is a theatre in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Joburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE) is an official Centre at based at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University), Johannesburg. The JCSE was established in 2005 as a partnership between academia, government, and industry to promote skills development, research, innovation, and best practices in software engineering, software development, and related ICT fields. This partnership between three major sectors, the City of Johannesburg, the University of the Witwatersrand and ICT and financial services was supposed to lead to a growing infrastructure base, better governance and investments in Gauteng. The JCSE initiated a digital innovation hub known as Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct. This precinct was launched in 2016, with the intention of reaching greater heights of industrialisation. A year later, the 2017 Tshimologong Precinct was spun off by Adam Habib as The Wits Incubator (Pty) Ltd company (Tshimologong) Although innovative, the precinct has not addressed poor policy, under regulation and mis-governance.Today, instead of a smart city, Joburg faces multiple basic infrustructure problems that President Ramaphosa demanded that they quickly address. before the G20 Summit takes place in Johannesburg in November 2025. Software solutions are not a quick fix for hijacked buildings, the lack of affordable housing, an unreliable water supply system, potholes or blocked sewers. Barry Dwalatky who launched the JCSE, would be disappointed.

Nelson Mandela Bridge is a bridge in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the fourth of five bridges which cross the railway lines and sidings located just west of Johannesburg Park Station, the first being the Johan Rissik Bridge adjacent to the station. It was completed in 2003, and cost R38 million to build. The proposal for the bridge was to link up two main business areas of Braamfontein and Newtown as well as to rejuvenate and to a certain level modernise the inner city. The bridge forms part of the M27 Route of Johannesburg.

Hekro Towers is a skyscraper in the Central Business District of Johannesburg, South Africa. Standing at an estimated 384.47 feet, it is 30 storeys tall. The building was constructed in 1969 as the President Hotel, and later operated as a Holiday Inn, before being converted to offices. It is owned by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, which also owns a church located next door.
