Samuel Brooks House (Cornwall, New York)

The Wilford Wood House is located on Pleasant Hill Road just east of the New York State Thruway in the Mountainville section of Cornwall, New York, United States. It is a white Colonial Revival farmhouse built in the late 19th century, a period when most large new houses in Cornwall were being built as boardinghouses to serve those who came to the area as a summer resort. The Wood house, too, would be used as a boardinghouse where guests could take in the mountain air and views of the surrounding mountains. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Signs around the property indicate that it is currently owned by nearby Storm King Art Center. It is sided in white clapboard, with a gabled roof shingled in asphalt and pierced by two chimneys, one stone and the other brick. The cornice is bracketed. A porch with two classical columns runs the length of the western (front) facade.

The district includes the cities of Newburgh, Beacon, Kingston, and Poughkeepsie.In the August 23, 2022 Democratic Party primary Ulster County executive Pat Ryan defeated Aisha Mills and Moses Mugulusi. On the same date Ryan also defeated Dutchess County executive Marc Molinaro (Republican) in a special election to fill a vacant seat in the district. The latter contest was seen as a victory in a bellwether district. In the November 8, 2022 general election Ryan defeated New York State Assembly member Republican Colin Schmitt. Republican Molinaro ran in the New York's 19th congressional district in the November general election and defeated Democrat Josh Riley. Incumbent Sean Patrick Maloney changed his election district to the New York's 17th congressional district, after redistricting maps were announced.

The Mary Van Duzer-Sayer House is the main residence of a 154-acre (62 ha) former farm on Taylor Road near the hamlet of Mountainville in the Town of Cornwall, New York, United States. It is a stone Federal style house built in 1832. Mary Van Duzer was the granddaughter of Isaac Van Duzer, one of Cornwall's early settlers and landowners. The farm she built with her husband was the southern tip of her grandfather's original landholdings. It remained in her family until 1903. In 1996 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

It was built in 1935 for Vermont Hatch and is a two-story, coursed ashlar stone dwelling in an eclectic French chateau style. It features a series of slate tiled hipped roofs. The Mountainville Grange Hall is l ocated on NY 32 just south of the hamlet of Mountainville in the town of Cornwall, Orange County, New York, United States. Built in 1904, the National Grange sold it in 1984 to the Jerusalem Temple Lodge No. 721, a local Masonic body of the Grand Lodge of New York, and it was renamed the Cornwall Masonic Temple.

It was built about 1830 and is a 1+1⁄2-story, clapboard-sided wood-frame dwelling in the Greek Revival style. It has a side-hall plan and a low-pitched gable roof. It features a portico with a pent roof supported by two square Doric order columns. Also on the property is a contributing wood-frame barn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Mountainville is a hamlet in the western section of the town of Cornwall, in Orange County, New York, United States. It is mostly wooded, lightly populated area, located in the narrow valley of Woodbury and Moodna creeks between Schunemunk Mountain and the Hudson Highlands. The New York State Thruway and NY 32 run through the hamlet. It has the ZIP Code 10953. While signs along the highway suggests it includes almost the entire portion of Route 32 in the town, the population is centered in the area around Taylor Road between 32 and the Thruway. There is a small central area with a post office and fire department. Storm King Art Center is located in Mountainville. Famous water color artist Winslow Homer spent a year in Mountainville as a young artist and many of his pastoral themed water colors were made there.
