Centreville is a rural farming community in Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada, located 10 kilometres north of Kentville on Route 359. As of 2021, the population was 1,159. Route 359 and Route 221 cross at the settlement. The village was once a junction on the Cornwallis Valley Railway branchline of the Dominion Atlantic Railway.

The Charles Macdonald Concrete House is a two-storey residential structure located in Centreville, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was built entirely out of reinforced concrete in 1910 by Charles Macdonald, a local folk artist and owner of a cement brick factory.

Sheffield Mills is a rural farming community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Kings County along Route 221 between Canning and Centreville. It was an important apple shipping location of the Cornwallis Valley Railway branchline of the Dominion Atlantic Railway. After the decline of Nova Scotia's apple industry in the 1950s, Sheffield Mills farmers diversified, with many setting up poultry farms. Discarded waste from poultry barns attracted large numbers of bald eagles to winter in the area in the 1980s which has led to an annual winter weekend of eagle spotting.

Steam Mill Village is a rural community north of Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada beside Camp Aldershot. It is named after an early steam-powered saw mill.

Aldershot is a community in Nova Scotia, Canada, in Kings County. A quasi-suburb of Kentville, Aldershot developed as a farming community along the Cornwallis Valley Railway branchline of the Dominion Atlantic Railway in the 19th century, served by Nova Scotia Route 359. The community grew substantially after 1904 when the British Army and later the Department of Militia and Defence expropriated a large tract of land north of the Cornwallis River for an army training facility. It is named Camp Aldershot, it continues to operate.

5th Canadian Division Support Group Detachment Aldershot (also 5 CDSG Det Aldershot) is a training facility for 5th Canadian Division of the Canadian Army. It is located in Kings County, Nova Scotia. 5 Cdn Div Support Group Det Aldershot is located 0.5 nautical miles (0.93 km; 0.58 mi) northwest of Kentville on a well-drained sandy plateau along the north side of the Cornwallis River. Surrounded by the agricultural heartland of Nova Scotia in the Annapolis Valley, 5 Cdn Div Support Group Detachment Aldershot is situated primarily on marginal agricultural land not suitable for crops. Relatively few military personnel are stationed at the camp as it serves primarily for training regular force and Primary Reserve units of the Canadian Army's 5th Canadian Division. 5th Canadian Division Training Centre conducts year-round courses for Regular Force and Primary Reserve personnel, while expanding dramatically during the summer months to accommodate the numerous courses for Primary Reserve personnel and some Regular Force courses. Throughout the year, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Air Force conduct training at Aldershot, as well as elements of Canada's Canadian Special Operations Forces Command. This training varies from basic recruit training to advanced demolitions training. During the period of September–June 5 Cdn Div Support Group Det Aldershot also serves as the primary weekend training location for Primary Reserve and Royal Canadian Army Cadets exercises for units from the Halifax metro area, and other locations in the Maritime Provinces.

Northeast Kings Education Centre (NKEC or Northeast Kings), is a high school that opened in September 2001. It is located on Bains Road in Canning, Nova Scotia. The school replaced the high schools of Kings County Academy in Kentville and Cornwallis District High School in Canning. NKEC's students come from the Kentville, Canning, Halls Harbour, North Kentville, Scots Bay and Centreville areas of Kings County. The school provides public education for Grade 6 through to Grade 12 and is divided into a middle school (Grades 6-8) and a high school (Grades 9-12). Glooscap Elementary School and Aldershot Elementary School students begin attending NKEC in Grade 6, while students from Kings County Academy in Kentville begin with Grade 9. Northeast Kings Education Centre has the second largest student population of any public school in western Nova Scotia. There are approximately 900 students and 80 staff members in the school.

Some members of the family stayed in the Pictou region, but some, led by the family head E. Woodside, migrated and established themselves in what is now known as Woodside, Kings County. Although most of the Woodside clan left Pictou, and Woodside and has since spread out to Prince Edward Island and other provinces (such as Ontario and New Brunswick), there is still some land and descendants of the original family in Nova Scotia.

The Kings County Museum is a museum in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, exploring the history of Kings County, Nova Scotia. It is housed in the restored 1903 Kings County Courthouse. The museum hosts a variety of permanent and changing displays about Kings County. It is also home to the Parks Canada National Commemorative New England Planters Exhibit.
