Reisterstown Historic District

Reisterstown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 25,968.Founded by German immigrant John Reister in 1758, Reisterstown is located to the northwest of Baltimore. Though it is older than the surrounding areas, it now serves primarily as a residential suburb of Baltimore. The center is designated the Reisterstown Historic District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Also listed are the Montrose Mansion and Chapel and St. Michael's Church.Just outside the community, to its north, is the small military reservation of Camp Fretterd, which serves as a training site for the Maryland Army National Guard and Air Guard. The Maryland Defense Force is also headquartered at Camp Fretterd.

St. Michael's Church, also known as St. Michael's Chapel and Hannah More Chapel, is a historic Episcopal Church located at Academy Lane and Reisterstown Road in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a small, Carpenter Gothic-style, board and batten frame structure, featuring a simple bell-gable. It was designed by New York architect John W. Priest (1825-1859), and constructed about 1853. It was named after Hannah More. It was deconsecrated on May 12, 1978.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.Still owned by the Diocese of Maryland, a renovation project costing $1.2 million began in January 2003. On September 8, 2004, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for its reopening. The project included the replacement of roof shingles, a restoration of the interior, which had been destroyed by rainwater, and the removal of chimney bricks.

Franklin High School is a public high school located in Reisterstown, Maryland, United States, an old historic town in the now northwestern suburbs of the modern City of Baltimore in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is in the Baltimore County Public Schools system.

Glyndon Historic District is a national historic district in Glyndon, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a turn-of-the-20th-century community northeast of Reisterstown, Maryland, that began as a summer resort. The district is residential except for a small business district located at the intersection of Butler Road and the Western Maryland Railway tracks. The Emory Grove Campground on the northern boundary is occupied in the summer. A decided architectural homogeneity exists in Glyndon representing vernacular examples of late 19th century styles. They are typically frame, 2+1⁄2-story-high cottages, with one or occasionally 2-story front porches.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Montrose Mansion and Chapel, originally known as Montrose Mansion, is a historic home located on the campus of Camp Fretterd Military Reservation of the Maryland Army National Guard in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a two-story neoclassical stone house constructed originally about 1826 by William Patterson who gave it to his grandson, Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte as a wedding present. By the middle of the 19th century, a large two-story wing was added, then a mansard roof with round-top dormers, a cupola, and a bracketed cornice with pendants was added about 1880. The chapel was completed in 1855 and is a rectangular structure of stone with Greek Revival decorative detailing. It features a three-story bell and entrance tower.The mansion and tower are separated by about a quarter of a mile. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Soldiers Delight Natural Environmental Area is a nature reserve near Owings Mills in western Baltimore County, Maryland, U.S. The site is designated both as a Maryland Wildland (1,526 acres) and as a Natural Environment Area (1,900 acres) and is part of the Maryland Wildlands Preservation System. The site's protected status is due to the presence of serpentine soil and over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species along with rare insects, rocks and minerals.

WZBA (100.7 FM, "100.7 The Bay") is a commercial FM radio station licensed to serve Westminster, Maryland. The station is owned by Times-Shamrock Communications and broadcasts a classic rock format. Its studios are in Hunt Valley and its broadcast tower is located near Owings Mills at (39°26′49.9″N 76°46′47.2″W).The station's service contour covers the Baltimore metropolitan area and southern portions of South Central Pennsylvania. The station markets itself as the only station in the Baltimore market dedicated to the classic rock format.

Gwynnbrook Wildlife Management Area is an 88-acre (36 ha) Wildlife Management Area in Owings Mills, Baltimore County, Maryland. The property is a former game farm that was purchased by Maryland in 1919, and is the oldest WMA in the state.

Owings Mills High School (OMHS) is a four-year public high school in Owings Mills, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Baltimore County Public Schools consolidated school district.

The Owings Upper Mill (also known as A.E. Groff's Flour Mill) is a historic grist mill located at Owings Mills, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a large 3+1⁄2-story brick structure, 50 by 60 feet (15 by 18 m). The building stands on a low stone foundation, surmounted by a molded brick water table. Two frame extensions were built sometime in the 1880s. The words "EUREKA FLOUR MILL" are worked into the façade in purple brick between the second- and third-story windows. The building is probably the oldest and largest mill surviving in Baltimore County and was the last known project of Samuel Owings, the American Revolutionary War patriot and enterprising merchant.The Owings Upper Mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
