Windsor Hills Historic District

The Elmer McCollum House is a historic house at 2301 Monticello Road in Baltimore, Maryland. Built about 1920, it is significant for its association with Johns Hopkins University researcher Elmer McCollum (1879-1967), who lived in the house from 1929 to 1939. During this period, McCollum conducted significant research into nutritional disease. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973.

Garwyn Oaks is a neighborhood in the Northwest District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Windsor Hills and Hanlon Longwood. The boundaries of its somewhat rectangular shape are marked by Woodhaven Avenue (north), Gwynns Falls Parkway (south), Garrison Boulevard (east) and Chelsea Terrace (west).The land now occupied by the Garwyn Oaks community was originally part of George Repold Vickers' Mount Alto estate. Many of the more than 300 houses in Garwyn Oaks are wood frame single-family detached homes and shingle style row houses that were built in the early 1900s. A diverse population of blue and white collar workers, self-employed workers, professionals and retired people live in these houses.

Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park is a park in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the second-largest woodland park in the United States, constituting a contiguous area of 1,216 acres (492 ha). Envisioned as a "stream valley park" to protect Baltimore's watersheds, including the Gwynns Falls, from overdevelopment and to preserve their natural habitats. It is well known for the fact that over 75 bodies have been discovered in the park since the 1940s. It is also home to the Baltimore Herb Festival.Leakin Park, designated as part of the Baltimore National Heritage Area, is managed and maintained by the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, assisted and supported by volunteers.

The Civitas Middle/High School was a public secondary school in Fairmount, Baltimore City, Maryland, United States situated in the Walbrook Campus where it was originally established in 2007. Walbrook was currently closed down and two schools operated inside of the building - beside's Civitas, Bulford Drew Jemison Academy was also operating on the other half of the building. Baltimore Civitas Middle/High School was changed into a transformation middle and high school at the beginning of the 2011–12 school year. Later, the Civitas Middle/High School operated in Dr. Roland N Park Middle School. Baltimore City Schools selected Civitas as one of several schools to close in 2014.

Walbrook High School formerly known as Walbrook Senior High School (1971–1998) and Walbrook Uniform Services Academy (1999–2005), was a public high school located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.

Mount Holly is a neighborhood in the Southwest District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Fairmont (south), Walbrook (east) and Garwyn Oaks (north). Its boundaries are drawn by Denison Street (east), Clifton Avenue (southwest), Gwynns Falls Parkway (north), Windsor Mill Road (northwest), and West North Avenue (south). Gwynns Falls Leakin Park is located to the west of Mount Holly.

Hanlon Longwood is a neighborhood in the Northwest District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Garwyn Oaks (west) and Burleigh–Leighton (east). It is bounded by North Dukeland Street (east), Garrison Boulevard (west) and the Gwynns Falls Parkway (south). The neighborhood's north boundary is marked by North Longwood Street, North Hilton Street and Liberty Heights Avenue.

Carrie Murray Nature Center (CMNC) is operated by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks. CMNC offers environmental education programs for children, families, and adults as Baltimore City's only nature center. A native live animal collection, outdoor bird aviary, and indoor exhibits are features of the center, which is nestled in the expansive and historic Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park, the largest urban forested park east of the Mississippi River. The nature center serves an estimated 30,000 visitors annually, including individuals and families as well as groups from schools, faith-based groups, recreation centers, and camps. During the school year, the nature center offers field trips and outreach programs for students of all ages, including the Forest Preschool at Carrie Murray Nature Center, a forest immersion program for preschool-age children. The nature center also offers summer camps, public programs, special events, and volunteer opportunities.

Lombard Street Bridge is a historic truss bridge located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is an 88-foot cast iron span consisting of three lines of trusses—two outer trusses of composite cast and wrought iron in a diagonal Pratt design and a center composite bowstring truss of Pratt-system web. It was designed in 1877 by engineer Wendel Bollman (1814–1884). The center bowstring is actually a bifurcated cast iron water main. This design for a bridge carrying a water line as a component of the truss bridge support itself is a unique design element of this bridge.The bridge was dismantled and placed into storage in 1975, after it was judged that it could not handle the increased traffic on Lombard Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Dorchester is a neighborhood in the Northwest District of Baltimore. It is located between the neighborhoods of Arlington (north), Central Forest Park (south), Howard Park (west) and Gallway-Garrison (east). Maryland Route 26 (Liberty Heights Avenue) draws boundary between Dorchester and Central Forest Park. Dorchester's other boundaries are marked by Oakford Avenue, Eldorado Avenue and Garrison Boulevard.MTA Bus Route 52 and Route 97 (Mondawmin Metro Shuttle Bug) provide service along Liberty Heights Avenue, connecting with the Metro Subway at Mondawmin station. Route 91 (MTA Maryland) runs along Garrison Boulevard, providing service between Sinai Hospital (north) and Downtown Baltimore (south). Two public schools are located in the Dorchester neighborhood: Garrison Middle School, at 3910 Barrington Road, and Forest Park High School, at 3701 Eldorado Avenue.

Forest Park High School is a public secondary school in the Dorchester neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Forest Park was established in 1924 as the Forest Park Junior-Senior High School. In 1932, the Forest Park Junior High School was moved and renamed the Garrison Junior High School. The Old Senior High School remained at its 4300 Chatham Road location until 1981 when it was torn down and the new school was built and occupied at the current Eldorado location.

Ashburton is a middle class, predominantly African-American neighborhood in the Forest Park region of northwestern Baltimore City, Maryland. It is located near Liberty Heights Avenue and Hilton Street, and is characterized by mixture of single family housing and blocks of row houses.It has been home to many prominent African Americans, including former Baltimore mayors Catherine Pugh, Kurt L. Schmoke, State Senator Lisa Gladden, and State Delegate Shawn Z. Tarrant. Benjamin Jealous, former NAACP president and chief executive officer, traveled as a child from northern California to spend his summers here with his maternal grandparents. Former Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, former Clerk of the Court Frank M. Conaway Sr., and attorney Dwight Pettit grew up in this neighborhood as children. Civil Rights activist, Walter P. Carter moved his family to Ashburton in 1965. His daughter, State Senator Jill P. Carter grew up there and represents the area as senator for Maryland Legislative District 41. The Carter family retains the family home on Egerton Road.
