Gay Street Historic District

Building at 239 North Gay Street, also known as Spartana Electronics, is a historic building located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a tall three-story iron-front structure of Italianate style built in 1875. It represents a Full Cast Iron Front and Major Exterior Cast Iron Detail type building. It was altered at street level by the construction of a modern store façade. Large window openings are flanked by Corinthian columns and headed by segmental arches. In 1974, the property was purchased by Anthony R. Spartana, who founded an electronic supplies business in 1925.Building at 239 North Gay Street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Old Town Savings Bank, also known as Cala Brothers, is a historic loft building located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a three-story loft structure designed by architect Frank E. Davis (1839-1921) and constructed in 1871. Both the street façades are cast iron, four bays wide on Gay Street and eight bays wide on Exeter Street. It is a Full Cast Iron Front building. It operated as a bank until about 1940, then housed a wholesale distributor of tobacco and confectionery.Old Town Savings Bank was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Baltimore riot of 1968 was a period of civil unrest that lasted from April 6 to April 14, 1968, in Baltimore. The uprising included crowds filling the streets, burning and looting local businesses, and confronting the police and national guard. The immediate cause of the riot was the April 4 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis, Tennessee, which triggered unrest in over 100 cities across the United States. These events are sometimes described as the Holy Week Uprising.Spiro Agnew, the Governor of Maryland, called out thousands of National Guard troops and 500 Maryland State Police to quell the disturbance. When it was determined that the state forces could not control the rebellion, Agnew requested Federal troops from President Lyndon B. Johnson.

The Odd Fellows Hall in Baltimore, Maryland, United States was a building that was the meeting place of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows fraternal organization, as well as the organization's national headquarters, from 1831 until 1890. It was the first Odd Fellows' Hall in the United States.

Engine House No. 6 is a historic fire station located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. This two-story brick building features a 103-foot Italian-Gothic tower at the apex of its truncated triangular shape. It was built in 1853–54, and the tower is said to be a copy of Giotto's campanile in Florence, Italy.Engine House No. 6 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Phoenix Shot Tower, also known as the Old Baltimore Shot Tower, is a red brick shot tower, 234.25 feet (71.40 m) tall, located near the downtown, Jonestown (also known later as Old Town), and Little Italy communities of East Baltimore, in Maryland. When it was completed in 1828 it was the tallest structure in the United States. The tower was originally known as the "Phoenix Shot Tower", then the "Merchants' Shot Tower", and now is also sometimes called the "Old Baltimore Shot Tower". It is the only surviving shot tower among four that existed in Baltimore. The structure was designated a National Historic Landmark on November 11, 1971 and as a local Baltimore City Landmark on October 14, 1975.The Shot Tower lends its name to the nearby Shot Tower/Market Place station on the Baltimore Metro subway system's northeast line. Additionally, the original Baltimore Bullets were named in honor of its role in producing shot, as was the team that is now known as the Washington Wizards.

Null House is a historic home located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay wide dwelling of wood-frame construction that was built between 1782 and 1784. It is a rare specimen of the early wooden clapboard building. The façade features a one-story wooden Italianate storefront of later construction with large store windows and two entrances. Originally located at 1010 Hillen Street, to save the building from demolition, it was moved on September 28, 1980, to the present site, 300 feet northeast of its original location on the opposite side of Hillen Street.Null House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 27, 1983.

House at 9 North Front Street is a historic home located in the Jonestown Historic District in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story brick townhouse with a 2-story rear wing. It is three bays wide and two rooms deep. The main house features a gable roof with two dormers on each side and two interior chimneys connected by a parapet. The house is located at 9 North Front Street and was built by either John Beale Bordley or Charles Torrence circa 1790. The house was the residence of Thorowgood Smith, second Mayor of Baltimore (1804-1808). It rests on an area of downtown Baltimore traditionally known as “Old Town”. Even earlier on, it was known as “Jones Town”. This area was annexed to Baltimore in 1745 and its settlement predates that of Baltimore Town. More specifically, the house is located in a neighborhood known today as Shot Tower Park. Once part of a whole row of Conservative Conservative Georgian style brick masonry 2+1⁄2-story townhomes, this house is the last extant example on the street, and one of just a few 18th century townhouses remaining in all of Baltimore.The House at 9 North Front Street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Shot Tower station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is in the central part of the city, in close proximity to many well-known landmarks, including the Shot Tower for which it is named, Port Discovery, Power Plant Live!, the Harbor campus of Baltimore City Community College, the National Aquarium, the Flag House, and Little Italy. The station has two street-level entrances, but unlike other Baltimore Metro stations that do, both these entrances share a common gate inside the station. The Shot Tower station is one of two stops in the third phase of the Baltimore Metro, having opened in 1995. Originally named Shot Tower/Market Place to showcase the proximity to the Market Place development, MTA Maryland dropped Market Place from its title with the 2017 rebranding of BaltimoreLink. Four display cases of artifacts found when digging during the construction of the station may be seen on the west side of the upper level of the station, on the unpaid side of the faregates.
