The Front Street Theater was a theater in Baltimore that was open from 1829 until 1895. It hosted the re-convened 1860 Democratic National Convention that nominated Stephen A. Douglas. On December 27, 1895, a panic arose after a woman shouted fire in the crowded theater, causing a crowd crush that resulted in 26 deaths. Afterwards, the theater was abandoned. It was destroyed in 1904 by the Great Baltimore Fire.
