Rock Island Light

A.E. Vickery was a wooden three-masted schooner built in 1861 and measured 136.2 ft. x 26.2 ft. x 10.8 ft. The ship was launched in July 1861 at Three Mile Bay, New York, United States as J. B. Penfield, and under that name sailed through the Welland Canal on her way from Detroit, Michigan, to Oswego, New York. She was renamed A. E. Vickery on 25 February 1884 and sank on 17 August 1889 when she struck a shoal while entering the American Narrows with a cargo of 21,000 bushels of corn destined for Wisers Distillery at Prescott, Ontario, Canada. The wreck now rests at a depth of about 35 metres (115 ft) near Rock Island Light at position 44°16.820′N 76°01.183′W.

Methodist-Protestant Church at Fisher's Landing, also known as the United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist church located at Orleans in Jefferson County, New York. It was built in 1898 and is a wood-frame vernacular Queen Anne structure. It features carefully crafted Palladian windows with stained glass panes and wooden frame and mullions. It is a seasonally utilized church structure. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Thousand Island Park, also known as TI Park, is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Orleans, Jefferson County, New York, United States, in the Thousand Islands region on the St. Lawrence River. Founded in 1875 as a holiday camp, the incorporated community remains a seasonal summer community; despite 323 housing units, there was only a population of 31 permanent residents as of the 2010 census. The community is a national historic district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The district is notable for its outstanding concentration of substantially-intact late 19th-century and early 20th-century resort architecture. The park also contains Vivekananda Cottage, a Hindu sacred site visited by the Swami Vivekananda and his followers.

Grass Point State Park is a 114-acre (0.46 km2) state park located in the Town of Orleans in Jefferson County, New York. The park is located along the St. Lawrence River by NY 12 and NY 180, between Clayton and Alexandria Bay.

Fishers Landing is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Orleans in Jefferson County, New York, United States. It is just southwest of Grass Point State Park in the Thousand Islands region of New York. As of the 2020 census the community had a population of 119.

The St. Lawrence Reservation (originally known as the State Reservation on the St. Lawrence) was a former protected area established by the state of New York in the Thousand Islands region along the St. Lawrence River in the late 19th century. The reservation's parks were some of the earliest lands purchased by New York State for the purposes of recreation and land preservation. Initially intended to become part of an international park with islands protected by Canada, properties acquired by New York for the reservation are today managed as independent state parks by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Islands that comprised the Canadian portion of the never-realized international park are today part of the Thousand Islands National Park.

Murray Isle is an island in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River in the U.S. state of New York. The island lies in the Town of Clayton, near its border with the Town of Orleans, in the northern part of Jefferson County. Today, Murray Isle is the site of many summer cottages. While the record is unclear, it is believed that the first cottage on Murray Isle was built in 1860. The structure, a simple log cabin, was owned by Daniel Sherman. By 1880, the island had four cottages, all located upriver, on the northern portion of the island. Murray was formerly known as Hemlock Island due to the presence of that variety of tree, but the name was changed in the late 18th century to Murray Hill Park after the Murray Hill area of New York City when the island was developed and lots sold off. The development was never finished. The name was shortened to its present form some time later. The Murray Hill Hotel was built on the island in the late 19th century, and served tourists who came over on steam ships from Clayton, NY through the early 20th century when it closed and was ultimately torn down. Today a community house and post office sit on the former site of the hotel. The post office operates yearly from June until September. An annual "Fish Fry" is hosted on the grounds of the community house every summer; the event takes place on the first Saturday of July. Murray Isle is bounded by channels on both its eastern and western tips. The channel on the island's eastern tip, known as "The Narrows" separates Murray Isle and Wellesley Island. A small islet known as Wintergreen Island (formerly Whippoorwill Island) is connected by a footbridge along the southern length of Murray.

Wellesley Island State Park is a 2,636-acre (10.67 km2) state park located on Wellesley Island in the St. Lawrence River in the Town of Orleans in Jefferson County, New York. The park is divided into sections that are on different parts of the island. It has the largest camping complex in the Thousand Islands region, including wilderness campsites on the banks of the St. Lawrence accessible only by foot or boat. The park is open year-round.

Canoe-Picnic Point State Park is a 70-acre (0.28 km2) state park located on Grindstone Island in the St. Lawrence River. The park is within the bounds of the Town of Clayton in Jefferson County, New York. The park is 1 of 80 New York State Parks that are in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse, with the park experiencing 3 minutes and 20 seconds of totality.

Capt. Simon Johnston House, also known as Kemp House, is a historic home located at Clayton in Jefferson County, New York. It was built in 1880-1882 and is a 2+1⁄2-story frame Italianate style residence. The main facade features an engaged central tower extending one story above a low pitched hipped roof. The tower features a pagoda style roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Clayton is a village in the town of Clayton in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The village population was 1,705 at the 2020 census. Clayton is the home of the Antique Boat Museum and Clayton Opera House. The village is a summer resort, offering galleries, boutiques and quality services to summer visitors.

The Clayton Historic District is a designated historic district in Clayton, New York. It was originally listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, with its boundaries expanded in 1997. The district includes the Capt. Simon Johnston House, which is also individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
