Cabell County Courthouse

The United States Post Office and Court House in Huntington, West Virginia is a federal building housing the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. It was built in 1907 and expanded in 1907, and again in 1937. The original construction was the result of the Tarsney Act of 1893. The federal courthouse is part of a group of significant civic structures in the center of Huntington that includes the Cabell County Courthouse, the Huntington City Hall and the Carnegie Public Library. The original design was by Parker and Thomas of Boston and Baltimore. The post office has since been moved to another location. In 1980, the United States Congress passed legislation renaming the building the Sidney L. Christie Federal Building, in honor of District Court judge Sidney Lee Christie.

The Mountain Health Arena, originally known as the Huntington Civic Center, later as the Huntington Civic Arena and later, for sponsorship reasons as the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, is a municipal complex located in the downtown area of Huntington, West Virginia, one block west of Pullman Square. The arena consists of a 9,000-seat multi-purpose arena and an attached conference center. It is home to numerous concerts and events and was the home of the Huntington Hammer of the Ultimate Indoor Football League for 2011. Marshall University's graduation ceremonies are also held at the arena. It was renamed for sponsorship reasons to its current name in 2019.

The Carnegie Public Library at Huntington, West Virginia, formerly also known as the Cabell County Public Library, is a historic library building located on the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and Ninth Street. It was the first public library in the county. It served the community as a library until 1980, when a new library opened across the street. The building currently houses the Huntington Junior College.

Huntington Junior College (HJC) is a private for-profit junior college in Huntington, West Virginia. It was founded in 1936 and its campus is currently located in the former Cabell County Public Library building. The college offers six associate degree programs as well as stackable certificates and micro-credentials. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Jim's Steak and Spaghetti House is a restaurant in Huntington, West Virginia. In 2019, the business was named one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation Awards.

Keith-Albee Theatre is a performing arts center located along Fourth Avenue in downtown Huntington, West Virginia, United States. The Keith-Albee was named after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum Corporation, one of the leading vaudeville performance chains at that time, to convince the directors of Keith-Albee-Orpheum to make the Keith-Albee a regular stop. At the time of its construction, The Keith Albee was the second largest theater in the U.S. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Downtown Huntington Historic District, and is currently being restored as a performing arts center.

Pullman Square is a lifestyle center in downtown Huntington, West Virginia, United States between 8th and 10th Street and 3rd Avenue and Veteran's Memorial Boulevard. It is located on what was known as the Superblock, a large urban renewal project that saw the demolishing of four city-square-blocks in 1970. The center opened in 2004, featuring approximately 20 stores, along with office space, restaurants, and a movie theater. It was developed by Metropolitan Partners.

Huntington station is a historic railroad depot located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It was built in 1887, by the Huntington and Big Sandy Railroad, later the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The former passenger station is two stories and constructed of brick with a slate roof and two chimneys. The former baggage section to the east is one story. The front facade of the former passenger station features a bay window extending from the basement to the roof and dividing it into two sections. At the rear of the passenger station is the former freighthouse. The freighthouse is a brick building with a slate roof completed in 1890, and expanded in 1897, 1911, and 1916.The complex includes an original steam engine with a "Pullman" train car, an outdoor performance area, and a building that used to house one of Huntington's first banks—which was the easternmost bank robbed by the James-Younger Gang. Heritage Station was turned into a shopping center called "Heritage Village" during the 1970s. For decades, the station sat hidden and virtually unused just two blocks from the city center, until Create Huntington got involved in 2006. Today, Heritage Station is an artisan retail complex, with locally owned shops, and home to public events like the annual Diamond Teeth Mary Blues Festival, named for the blues singer born in the town.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Depot.

The Masonic Temple—Watts, Ritter, Wholesale Drygoods Company Building in Huntington, West Virginia, which has also been historically known as Watts, Ritter Wholesale Drygoods Company Building and more recently known as River Tower, is a commercial building. It is located at 1108 Third Avenue, in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It was built between 1914 and 1922 as a five-story brick building. The building is constructed of steel-reinforced concrete with yellow and orange brick facing and terra cotta trim, with an additional two stories added in 1926. It originally housed a large wholesale business with a retail store on the first floor. The Watts, Ritter Wholesale Drygoods Company occupied the building until the firm's closing in 1959. The building was listed in 1993 on the National Register of Historic Places as "Masonic Temple--Watts, Ritter, Wholesale Drygoods Company Building".

Elk River Coal and Lumber No. 10 is a 2-8-2, Mikado type steam locomotive built by American Locomotive Company in 1924 and used by its owners to haul mine waste from Rich Run Mine in Widen, West Virginia. It was retired in 1959 and moved to its present location at Huntington, West Virginia, in 1977.It was built for the Toledo Angola and Western as their No. 100 in 1924. It was purchased sometime thereafter by Elk River Coal and Lumber Company. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Elk River Coal and Lumber Company #10 Steam Locomotive in 2006.

The Robert C. Byrd Bridge is a 720-foot (220 m) continuous truss bridge that crosses the Ohio River between Huntington, West Virginia and Chesapeake, Ohio. The crossing was constructed to replace an old, narrow, two-lane structure that was demolished after 69 years of service in a spectacular implosion on July 17, 1995. The previous bridge, opened in 1926, was Huntington's first bridge across the Ohio River and was designed in a gothic style, complete with four two-ton spires that rested on top of each peak. The groundbreaking ceremony for the four-lane bridge was held on April 30, 1991. James Watkins, of the Ohio Department of Transportation, stated that the importance of the new four-lane span would only be heightened by the construction of the Chesapeake-Proctorville State Route 7 bypass that would "begin in 1996." Work on the bypass did not begin until 2000. The old 6th Street Bridge closed in the summer of 1993 to allow for the construction of the ramps and approaches in West Virginia and Ohio. The new bridge was named the Robert C. Byrd Bridge under an executive order from former Governor Gaston Caperton to honor the U.S. senator from West Virginia, who is credited with obtaining the funding for the project that was completed on November 6, 1994. The $32.6 million bridge was constructed with $1.4 coming from Ohio, $5.6 coming from West Virginia, and $25.3 in federal funds. The famous spires which once adorned the top of the former span were saved. One is currently on display outside of the Chesapeake city hall at the intersection of State Route 7 and the Robert C. Byrd Bridge. Two others are installed along 9th Street between 3rd and 5th Avenues.

Old Huntington High School is a historic high school building located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It was built in 1916, and is a 4+1⁄2-story buff-brick building in the Classical Revival style. It consists of a long rectangle with a shorter rectangular wing on each end of the main rectangle forming a "U" shape. The courtyard is enclosed with three additions completed in 1951 (gymnasium), 1956 (cafeteria), and 1977. The building contains 155,512 square feet (14,447.5 m2) of space. The kitchen is located in an older red brick building built in 1916, built originally as a carriage house. The last graduating class was in 1996. A new facility was built to consolidate Old Huntington High and Huntington East High School into a single institution; the new school opened in August 1996 as Huntington High School. It is now known as The Renaissance Center. Part of the building was converted into apartments. The YMCA uses part of it for workout facilities and a daycare facility. The building also houses studio space, an auditorium, and small art gallery. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
